It appears that this is all they are releasing at this time from sealed documents.

A piece of the warrant associated with Mollie’s movement based on her cell phone records.

Thanks for posting this. If I'm reading it correctly, Mollie's cell phone registered her moving approx. 50 mph from the point on 385th to a point 5.5 miles away, which traveling south on 200th st. would put them very near the 430th st. red dot on the POI map LE released early in the investigation. If she left 385th at 8:20, but wasn't at 470th and 21 until 8:53, it makes me wonder again about a possible stop at 430th. Otherwise they would have had to slow significantly (like 10-20 mph) for the remainder of the drive. It also says her cell phone dropped off network at 8:53, in the vicinity of 470th and 21, possibly against her will. That makes me wonder about a stop in that area (near pig farm), as well. It's possible that it just happened to lose power right then, but that seems coincidental. MOO

Wish they had released the FitBit data. Since 8:53 is listed on the homicide warrant, it makes me think FitBit indicated death by then, since cell phone dropping network alone doesn't seem reason to list it as end range for TOD. JMO

I'm not asking Bravo directly, but does anyone know how radar online or other sources find these documents? I can't find anything on PACER or Iowa courts online. I'm curious as to where I can find these 'unsealed warrants' naming four suspects. I could find news articles, but no actual documents. Thanks for your help!

The only court site I can get into is:
https://www.iowacourts.state.ia.us/ESAWebApp/TIndexFrm

But all I can see is "Filings" - On the left going to right you'll see "Summary", "Parties", "Long Titles", etc. - if you click on some of them you'll get this message:
Note: This part is for the Online Search subscription.
You do NOT need to open an account here to pay a fine.
To only pay a fine, please go back and use "Payment Search".

Like "Exhibits".

Sorry if that doesn't help! :)

and sorry if this double posts - WS is wacky this morning for me....

and edited to add: Nothing new on the court site for him.

hmm, that link doesn't work for me. I looked on Iowa Courts and I can't find anything on CR, but maybe that type of case doesn't end up on there? ( https://www.iowacourts.state.ia.us/ESAWebApp/TrialSimpFrame) I can't figure this out haha I just want to figure out how radar online gets these documents and no one else can

I’m wondering if the media petitioned the court to have the documents unsealed? Under the First Amendment the media has a “presumptive right” of access to the documents.

If in fact they were sealed officially by the court someone leaked them which happens a lot. If they were not filed under court seal then a paid subscription to the court site can reveal them. Or as simple as a person going to the court and paying for copies.

After looking at the two pages disclosed it appears they had to have been released by the court or the investigative agency. It also appears to be scanned computer copies processed after the Court Clerk had accepted them for filing.

The one from Radar that requests all sealings is dated Aug 1. I assume that all filings were public until the sealing request.

When did R publish that doc?

Someone associated with the case or the court leaked the documents to Radar. Radar pays so they paid someone for them. If they are filed under seal they are not public and only the parties and court personnel (like clerks) have access to them. This includes anyone working for the defense or prosecutors. You can be fined and held in contempt of court for releasing sealed documents so leaks are rare in the grand scheme of things. Someone may have stolen a page out of a printer or copy machine and that could explain why only one page is leaked.

Radar Online doesn’t seem to have anything the more mainstream sources don’t already have. This CBS link specifies the info is from “newly unsealed search warrants reviewed by the Associated Press” so it makes no sense to me nobody seems to have the rest of it?

Unsealed documents reveal new details about Mollie Tibbetts investigation

I agree. Some media verify docs with less scrutiny than others. And in today’s media climate a good percentage of the public no longer instantly believe what media reports.

I admit. I read at lest 20 online news sources each morning. But it’s the beginning. If I find something interesting I don’t believe the first source. I usually go to a local online source and find a more factual report.

And it’s a blend of what I have read that prompts what I usually believe.

I will be glad in a legal sense when this comes to trial and Mollie and her family have some degree of Justice.

I’m still curious who is paying his attorneys.

This is comparable to the Police Officer in California being killed by a suspected drunk driver a couple of days ago.

Murder has such a profound affect on so many and we sometimes forget entire communities impacted by the crime. There is little good that remains after all is said and done.

Has anyone read how Molles Fiancé is coping with it?

<modsnip>

Anyone providing a loving place in the home to a friend of her son so he can finish with his HS class is a good person in my book.
