“He was always outside, I'd say at least by 9 o'clock. Riding his bike or just walking in the area,” neighbor KK told CBS affiliate KCCI. “That's about the time he'd start playing with my daughter, and i never seen him that morning. That struck me as odd."

Authorities told Iowa’s News Now they aren’t ruling out any scenarios at this time.

According to television station KCCI, the investigators with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation visited the home again on Tuesday afternoon. Xavior’s mom lives in a corner lot at the Spruce Village trailer park. ...

According to two of Xavior’s middle school teachers, his mom has a disability and he does at least some of the caretaking for her.

[...]

NB, a neighbor who lives several homes away, told KCCI that he never saw Xavior wander far from home.

“I’ve actually never seen him leave the trailer court,” NB said. “He usually goes up and down here and cuts off right before that street up there.”

Mortvedt said that the investigators currently believe that Xavior is not in the area, and that they were confident they had looked everywhere an 11-year old might have gone on their own. ...

[...]

Mortvedt couldn’t say how many tips the DCI has received but said they needed more people to continue to call with any bit of information they might have.

“Unless we get more specific tips on where to search, we will focus on the investigative side of it,” Mortvedt said.

Friends describe relationship between Xavior Harrelson and his mother as search for missing boy continues (kcrg.com)
Neighbors said there were weekly “screaming matches” between Xavior Harrelson and his mother, Sarah, in their home. The same home was searched with K9 units along with the entire trailer park on Tuesday.

[...]

Neighbors and family members said Xavior acted as a caretaker for his mother, who is an amputee.

SR, who first reported Xavior missing on Thursday, said the mother has difficulty putting on her prosthetic leg because of another health condition.

[...]

SR said Xavior was very close with his mom and said their relationship was full of love. However, neighbors at the Spruce Village Mobile Home Park said Xavior would sometimes ask neighbors to stay in their homes instead.

KK, who lives next door to the Harrelson’s, said the two would argue often loud enough that they could hear the screaming.

[...]

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said only Sarah and Xavior lived inside the trailer and there were no guests when he disappeared. The agency clarified on Wednesday one neighbor, not the mother, reported Xavior Harrelson missing.

Iowa boy missing, one week after vanishing from trailer park - ABC News (go.com)

Detectives are considering several possibilities in the disappearance of Xavior Harrelson, including that he was abducted, that he suffered some kind of accident or that he ran away, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assistant director Mitch Mortvedt said.

[...]

Police are confident that they have searched and cleared the areas where the boy could have gone on his own, including a large nearby county park with woods and a lake, Mortvedt said. ...

[...]

Harrelson lived with his mother in the Spruce Village trailer park in Montezuma, Iowa, a town of 1,300 people that is 70 miles east of Des Moines. He disappeared after leaving home around 11 a.m. on May 27. A friend's mother later called authorities to report the boy missing after speaking with Xavior's worried mother.
Xavior completed his fourth grade year at Montezuma Elementary School on May 21 and was off for summer break. He was known for riding his bike around the trailer park.

“Xavior is a happy kid who gets along well with his peers and wants to please his teachers,” said one of his teachers, MB. “He's always willing to help you out, engage in a conversation, and offers a smile to everyone he sees.”

“Comparing this case to the Mollie Tibbetts case,” he said. “Mollie got way more coverage nationally than Xavior’s getting, even though it’s from the same basic area, and that’s sad. Why that is, I don’t know, I’ve got my ideas.”

Pastor Shrimplin says he will continue praying for Xavior and doing whatever he can until he returns.

Montezuma Mayor Jacki Bolen says they are hanging up flyers, and posting about Xavior Harrelson on social media a lot to help. She believes there are many people who still don’t know about this investigation.

“I think it would be comforting to the general public, to just hear a little bit about what’s going on with things,” she said. Like I said obviously you just can’t tell us everything and we totally understand that. I think hearing it from them would be good for the community. We’ve heard lots and lots of rumors and that kind of thing, and maybe a press conference would help eliminate some of that, and ease some minds.”

Xavior Harrelson was reported missing one week ago

6/4/2021

[..]

Investigators went door to door looking for their next clue to find Xavior Harrelson on Wednesday. They say they've collected all the surveillance video they can but are still asking for anyone they missed to send them their video.

Neighbors are describing the night before his disappearance. They told KCCI they heard a fight between Xavior and his mother the night before.

The Iowa DCI reported they were aware of the Xavior's home life but could not confirm or deny any specifics.

Teachers have told KCCI over the last week that Xavior's mother is disabled and he acts as her caretaker. She has not spoken publicly yet.

It was a neighbor who first reported Xavior as missing when he wasn't out riding his bike Thursday morning.

“The other thing I can't really wrap my head around is why isn't anybody in the family gone on here? And so that's why I'm Xavior's voice. And that's how I feel. And that's why I keep doing this, because somebody has to speak for him,” Samantha Rix said.
---
"Xavior, I don't think, would wander off on his own," said Marie Boulton, one of Harrelson's school teachers. "He has a huge heart and really loved his mom and helped her out at home, so I don't think he would want to leave and make her worry or make any of us worry."

Light poles, trees and road signs around Montezuma have been wrapped in orange ribbons, as community members try to keep focus on the search for missing 11-year-old Xavior Harrelson.

But clues about Xavior's disappearance May 27 seem to have stalled. Investigators have not announced any leads that would help explain what happened to a boy who was known for staying very close to home in Spruce Village trailer park.

[...]

They have compiled surveillance video from inside and outside the trailer park, but it's not clear whether any of that video has been helpful in the search.

Authorities re-evaluating search for missing 11-year-old from Montezuma

Xavior was last seen around 11 a.m. Thursday in Montezuma, wearing a red T-shirt, blue pajama pants and black high-top shoes, according to the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office. He has brown hair and blue eyes, is about 4-foot-8 and weighs 100 pounds.

Mitch Mortvedt, assistant director of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, said Xavior left his home in the Spruce Village Mobile Home Park and has not been seen since. The boy’s mother thought Xavior had gone out to play with friends, he said.

The mobile home park is less than a mile from Diamond Lake County Park, which features more than 660 acres of wooded land, a 90-acre lake and roughly 120 campsites.

Since the boy’s disappearance, Mortvedt said authorities have deployed people, dogs, horses, all-terrain vehicles, drones, aircraft, heat sensors and divers.

Now, Mortvedt said, authorities are working on developing new leads.

“All we really know for sure right now is that Xavior was reported missing on Thursday and we know what he was possibly wearing when he left the house,” Mortvedt said. “Other than that, we don’t know anything for sure.”

It’s not clear whether Xavior wandered off and got lost after he left his house, ran away or was taken, Mortvedt added.

Foul play not ruled out in disappearance of Xavior Harrelson

Mitch Mortvedt is the Assistant Director with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

“At the end of last week, there's kind of a cold snap. And when it gets down into the 30s, of course, then you're thinking hypothermia with the report that we have what he was last seen wearing a T-shirt, pajama bottoms and tennis shoes, that was a concern of ours. But as the days go on, it's increasingly more suspicious and more concerning,” Mortvedt said.

[..]

“To be right back here, you know, working out of the sheriff's office and in the same communities as we were three, almost three years ago when Molly disappeared, it's frightening,” Mortvedt said.

Foul play has not been ruled out. Investigators say the family is cooperating but have not spoken to the media.
