If Warren Jeffs made a statement about killing kids then why the hell arent we doing raids on these people and taking kids from that situation????
I respectfully suggest that you are misinterpreting. Not to defend Jeffs in any way. That just isn't really the substance of the comment in the article you seem to be referencing. IMO

I would just suggest that people educate themselves. What is mostly being discussed here is the FLDS, not the LDS. To just make such a broad statement is pretty shocking. One can hide behind MOO but I hope people making and reading such comments are educated rather than just making uneducated assumptions. IMO
My semi educated opinion is there are lines crossed between the two, many secretly live as polygamists unlike the more “open” Short Creek/Hilldale communities.
Recent trip to family in St G always eye opening and educational

I agree. I have lots of family in Fredonia and the surrounding area. Although I have left that church, I know that many of them believe that polygamy is God's will and are just waiting for legalization to practice it (or a few not waiting and hiding it).

"He wanted all the children, especially, to be consecrated back to the church," said former FLDS member Tonia Tewell.

Authorities say 24 of Jeffs' 78 wives were underage.

Now, Roundy believes Jeffs' so-called prophecy could mean plans for mass suicide in the sect, and worries that two more of her children are in danger.

"You just never know what they're gonna be told to do," Roundy said. "It's just ridiculous. Just right out manipulation to see what they can get away with basically."

“Their father’s been trying to get them away from me because I left the FLDS and he believes that I’m an apostate,” she said.
I'm getting Jonestown vibes from this and I don't like it .
Can't the prison authorities shut this dangerous cult leader up?
If not, why?

Press Release from the Uvalde Foundation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids

3 July 2025

(National) (Monteview, Idaho/Trenton, Utah/Arizona/Colorado/Custer, SD)

In an early morning press conference held in Temple, Texas this morning, the Uvalde Foundation For Kids, who has been actively involved in the search for two missing Idaho teens, feared abducted by FLDS church members; announced that it is now ending its 10 day multi-state ground search for the missing youth.

At the conference, held this morning, Daniel Chapin, founder and national director of the Uvalde Foundation For Kids, released that due to new information they have received, they will be ending the active ground search. Officials added that they now believe the teens are no longer traveling and have been hidden in one location by members of the FLDS church.

The foundation began its search for the youth, shortly after their alleged abduction; which involved 48 volunteers who logged over 120 hours of search time, and over 1,000 miles; including following leads throughout Idaho, Utah, Colorado & Arizona.

Officials noted in an update, Thursday, that they will actively continue to pursue and follow leads involving the disappearance of the two youth, despite ending the active ground search.

I am truly proud of the dedicated efforts of our teams to date. We must also especially commend law enforcement in Jefferson County in Idaho, Detective MacArthur with Coconino County Sheriff's office in Arizona and so many others for their collaborative efforts. At this juncture, new information we have received, coupled with an exhaustive multi-state ground search, involving 4 states, & thousands of leads, which has resulted to date with no concrete answers as to where these kids are - has led us to end our active ground search for the moment. We do not believe these kids are being transported anywhere at this point.

We will, however, continue to investigate the case & pursue all leads. We are not giving up on these kids. They will be found.

Roundy drove to Short Creek to pick up her other four children, though she had to get a court order and send police officers to extract them from the house where they were living with cousins. Her eldest son, then 18, chose to remain.

In the car, her daughters, Elintra and Rachelle, and son, Allen, were “madder than hornets”. When they got to Idaho, she said they kept escaping out of the windows and running across fields, refusing to eat, convinced she had poisoned their food. She later discovered they were meeting people whom she believes were FLDS members in the nearby gravel pit (the sect knew where she and her parents lived) and had been given burner phones to communicate.

“They would destroy Mother’s car, they would kick her, hit her and sit and scream for hours,” said Benjamin. “It was instilled in them that if they live with me, they’re going to go to hell,” said Roundy. She believes her husband is still an active member of the church.
