I bet it was ice. For prolonged periods of time. And somehow I am betting potty training was involved. And he was punching her....OMG. I hope I am wrong. The 6 year old's father saw her 3 weeks ago and said both seemed fine??? No way.

So - following back her my space it seems she started talking seriously to this guy in Sept 2007. I wonder how long they have lived together?

The LE statements says the little girl may have been frostbit. They must of left her outside with no shoes. Also her hands were affected. The description was horrible. This poor baby. The six year old is old enough to talk, so she can possibly shed some light on what was happening. I feel bad for her also, having to witness such ugliness.

I hope both these 🤬🤬🤬 fry. If mom works from home, why did the BF have the kid? That doesn't make sense to me. Also, her injuries were ongoing and possibly infected. That doesn't happen in an hour. She was part of this, no way out. She can blame it on the BF all she wants, the facts, as reported, show that she did not care enough to get treatment for her daughter nor stop the BF from whatever he was doing. She is just as guilty!

I saw that too. What an absolutely horrible mother. If anyone, especially a man, laid a hand on my daughter, I would be the one going to jail.

It does seem like the abuse is worse and worse. Poor kid!

If they don't put these people to death, which they should, they should at least have them fixed so they can't ever have any more children, and then lock them away forever.

Well. what Claycat said.

Kyra had more surgery today and is still in critical condition.

Prayers for that precious little doll!

Did you see where an Illinois sherrif that dealt with him before called him a piece of ****. I thought that was pretty dang funny but I could thing of some other things to call these two. I hope someone gets them before it even goes to trial.

Illinois Sheriff calls Idaho child abuse suspect "a piece of (expletive)"
http://www.krem.com/topstories/stories/krem2_061808_toddlerabuse.16c293bb.html

Krem2 news spoke with Perry County (IL) sheriff, where the suspect, Charles Smith, used to live and learned he had run-ins with the law back there.

Smith is accused in the child abuse case of his girlfriend's 3 yr old daughter, Kyra Wine.

Sheriff Keith Kellerman said he had to deal with Smith (article gives city name, instead of suspect's name) a couple of times, including a domestic violence case and a few traffic violations. Kellerman said, "He's a piece of (expletive)."

I was typing the above post as you were posting.

Also caught the tail end of a news report where the guy's mom swears he would never hurt a child and they plan to defend him. Supposedly she (his mom) posted to his myspace. Yeah mom ... your lil Charlie wouldn't hurt a fly, right?

Seeing Kyra's picture makes me even more mad that her mother could allow this or contribute to this baby's suffering! She looks like my little girl did at that age and it makes my blood boil!

I am SO thankful that someone called the police and got her the help she so desperately needed. That person is an angel from above IMO. God bless this precious little girl...I can't imagine what she went through to have the injuries she had.

These people are such scum, I can't stand it. Watching the video of the babysitter. She said that man was left home with the girls all the time. GROSS! I'm screaming out loud here. Scum. I hope someone beats them in the jail house and I hope it hurts!

I just heard on KHQ news that Kyra's condition has been upgraded to "serious" just a few hours ago. Glad to get some encouraging news about her. Also heard she's had numerous surgeries. Keep praying that she continues to recover.

KREM news interviewed her father, Tom, and he was saying he just wants to know *why*. Also mentioned that Kyra asked for her car seat and wants to go home. Bless her sweet little heart.

Should be more on 6pm news.
