Right. Me too. And remember dad says they went to that store earlier as a family. But Jessica doesn't mention the store clerk seeing her just a "gentleman and young blonde boy". Dad says in the interview they hadn't left the campsite since 1:00 and were with search and rescue until?? (Quarter to 4??) So why rule out a possible sighting there at 6?? Was the boy crying when the family went prior to 1? Could the clerk really mistake the time by 5 or more hours?

I'm thinking the dad and boy were there when the dad says they were. But it seems like, from the dad's story, that they went to the store around 1pm, the boy was fussy, and then the next thing we know it's after 2pm and the boy is missing. What happened between crying at the store and the boy being left with grandpa while the parents explored?

It could be nothing out of the ordinary happened in the time between the store and the disappearance, but I want to know.

Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman told Dateline divers were searching Timber Creek Reservoir again Wednesday after cadaver dogs indicated there may be more there to find. A comprehensive search of the 2.5-mile radius of the family's campsite turned up no clues.

Sadly, I think they will find the little boy in water. I don't think he was kidnapped. I think he wandered off and drown. jmo

Search for missing boy leads back to reservoir

It is day five in the search for an Idaho Falls toddler. And now divers are back in the water of a nearby reservoir.

Two-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr. went missing Friday afternoon when his mother, father and grandfather and his grandfather's friend were all camping on Timber Creek Road near Leadore, Idaho.

Pretty good video, IMO. And new information released regarding who was there and the tracking dogs.

In my experience in CA, many people are not found right away in water. It has taken approximately a week in the rivers here for bodies to surface

Mountain lions do come out during the day. Most lion attacks I've read of are during the day. Of course that's when humans are most active as well.

Lions have territories, but I'm not sure if they have a home cave or home tree (I see someone answered that already). Probably like house cats, they have their favorite sleeping areas. They don't cache food in a tree that I've ever heard of or carry it up a tree. They'll cover it on the ground by scratching up leaves, dirt, and debris from all around it so it'll look like a debris pile. They'll then lounge nearby to guard it. Although with a toddler I'm not sure if there'd be enough left to guard or cover. Again, I really hate typing that.

That does soften my heart toward him. It is looking like a tragic accident after all. Holding my breath with the family as they await news from the searchers.

Sorry to jump in here late. Everyone is doing a fantastic job on helping find this little boy.
I am originally from Idaho, and have family in Leadore and Salmon. Ironically, my hubby and I just returned
home from vacationing with family in Island park and West Yellowstone (family has a cabin there).
Leodore is not far at all from where my parents and aunt and uncle live and they have actually been involved in the search.
Without going into great detail, I can tell you, the consenus is that there IS in fact something fishy/off/foulness regarding the whole situation.
Many, Many people around that area are down home, good hearted kind spirited people. I personally believe that if this little one was kidnapped,
it would be a story to make history in the state. ESPECIALLY in that particular portion of the state. Sadly, I believe he is in the water, or, other water nearby.
My family believes the same after many many hours of searching.

While I understand concerns being posted about mountain lions , I can tell you that bears are more of a threat than anything else.

So how would he have gotten up there? To the reservoir? His dad said they were camping directly beneath the reservoir and that there is a road that goes up there that he didn't even know was there until he went up there. He said you could see the entire campsite from there. He said you could see the bottom of the reservoir if you looked in the middle.

He also said the thought and believed little Deorr was not up on that mountain anymore. They hadn't been up on that mountain before Deorr went missing. Or is "up on that mountain" in reference to where they were camping (up in the mountains).

Who is grandpa's friend? Man or woman?

ETA: It is 4/10's of a mile from campsite to reservoir.

Sorry, if this has already been posted. It's a link to the Timber Creek campground. I imagine they were at the lower campground, since dad mentioned climbing up to the reservoir.

I do wonder if he had been attacked by a predator--would Jr. have made a sound? Would the mountain lion have made a sound?

I believe he will be found in the water. He is a toddler. Toddler heads are very heavy so when the bend over they are at risk of tipping. If he was on uneven/rocky banks, he could have gone over and drown easily.

(A while back there was a case in PA where the babysitter/parent didn't keep track of a toddler. The child drowned in a slop bucket in a couple of inches of water because he/she was unable to right themselves.)

Summer always makes me sad because of the drownings that are reported. No one should be in water or around water without a spotter or a lifeguard. Young children are at great risk. Marion Vittone (of G Captain and retired Coast Guard trainer/resue swimmer) produced a great article on drowning (http://mariovittone.com/2010/05/154/) and it is a great public service piece with all of the pertinent information about the silence of drowning, contrary to what we often think drowning looks like.

So the reporter asked if Jessica wanted to clear up any rumors and she started taking about the store clerk saying she saw a gentleman and a blonde boy matching the description who was filthy and bawling with a black truck. She did not make reference to the clerk seeing her. However the Dad says they went down there as a family earlier.

Also re: the EMT bag the woman off screen asked "did you tell him about the emt bag"? Then she said because we really need to address that. Jessica says they don't want things twisted.

Thank Jules you for bringing this over here. I still can't get the audio of that video working for some reason.

So it sounds as if something happened with that EMT bag, maybe it was open or some things were missing from it, or whatever. Jessica's answer, that she doesn't want "things twisted" makes me trust her that nothing nefarious was going, because who would say something like that if they're trying to cover up the use or disappearance or whatever of the EMT bag/bag contents? If the bag were somehow related to Deorr having had an accident or something they were trying to cover up, she would have had a great explanation ready, but not this reply.
