Deorr's missing posters say he was wearing a camo jacket, blue pajama pants and too-big camo cowboy boots.

So I was thinking - what about a tee shirt? Or whatever he was wearing under his jacket. Maybe a thermal long sleeve shirt. Or a pajama top? He's soon for a nap so probably something comfy to wear while cuddling with his fav blanket. And monkey :) And cup!

He'd just gotten back from a trip to the store, surely he was wearing a top under his jacket. Has it been reported? Maybe I missed it. Thanks so much.

When we camp, we don't put certain "comfy" clothes on the kids for their naps. DeOrr was wearing a soft fleece zip up hoodie, long pajama bottoms, and boots which is quite appropriate for where they were and what they were doing. Hoodies are often worn as the sole top rather than as a jacket, with no additional shirt underneath. <modsnip>

Was it a zip up hoodie? Do you have a link? I'd assumed it was a pullover hoodie.

Wow! What a wonderful and caring person to do that for someone else!

Yes, good for DeOrr's grandma and compassionate strangers for trying to keep DeOrr's face out there. The grandma has done quite a few interviews recently. I bet she was the one who convinced the parents to speak on camera during the recent search, too. MOO.

<snipped for relevance>

Personally, I'm more baffled than ever by this case. Nothing would surprise me now, even if the creep in the jeep turns out to be real. The longer that DeOrr was unsupervised for, and the longer his parents waited to phone LE, and the longer it took LE to get there, the more possibilities open up. Could he have wandered a couple of miles away, and then an animal took him out of the search area? How far would a bear, cougar or wolf carry a child, I wonder. They might not even have attacked him, but found him already drowned.

Or he could have walked all the way to the other campsite and someone there abducted him.

BBM

I agree that DeOrr could have gotten outside the search area somehow. They searched around the campsite about an hour after he was discovered missing. We don't really know exactly how long he was missing before his parents searched, do we? It would take up to an hour for LE to arrive and get organized...or more? So we're talking over two hours for DeOrr to have moved away from the campsite, and perhaps continuing to move even while the LE search started. A lot of distance could be covered and a lot could have happened, even if nothing else intervened.

It did occur to me that he could have encountered someone who took it upon themselves to "rescue" him without notifying LE. I suppose there are people who would decide that a little boy wandering alone needed a new home. :( Twisted thinking, but that would actually be the best case scenario at this point. JMO

Do we have the locale for this soon-to-be nap? And how does this fit in with the rock where Deorr was allegedly last seen?

The rock DeOrr was last seen by is new information, and I'm not sure how it fits it :gaah:

Before that, we understood that the last place DeOrr was seen was when his GGP saw him approaching an embankment (was the embankment next to the river? I was never clear on which embankment was meant), and then GGP assumed that DeOrr had gone over the embankment and found his parents. Do I have this right?

But this rock is right next to one of the picnic table in the middle of be campsite, and if a human or animal predator had approached DeOrr there it would definitely have been seen by GGP IMO. So I thought maybe the rock was the last place that DeOrr's *parents* ever saw him, when they left him with GGP?? But the GGP actually saw him after that, next to the embankment??

Was it a zip-up or a pullover? A zip-up probably wouldn't be comfortable to sleep in, but a pullover is often worn without a shirt.

I am fairly certain that at one point, he was playing in the dirt with his toy car -- perhaps that was near the rock? And perhaps someone has a link re: that quote? Otherwise, consider it rumor, I suppose.

if you google . . . DeOrr camouflage jacket . . .

One of the pictures shows DeOrr in the camo jacket and a pair of matching pants. The "jacket" looks very soft (fleece?) and does have a zipper.

If it was a plastic cup with a picture of a dinosaur or an animal, heck yes, I can see a toddler wanting to take it to bed with him. And let's not judge people based on standards of what we might do. I find it entirely plausible that Deorr would have napped with his cup, even more so if the nap was to take place in the car.

Do we have the locale for this soon-to-be nap? And how does this fit in with the rock where Deorr was allegedly last seen?

"I" certainly wasn't judging the family. I responded to a poster's "opinion" with MY opinion.

The camo jacket in all the photos I have seen has a zipper up the front. It is not something that would likely be worn with nothing underneath - it is a jacket/coat, not a hoodie or sweatshirt. Nothing has been reported, as far as I know, about what shirt or top he was wearing underneath the jacket.

He's wearing a shirt underneath the hoodie in that picture, so it seems likely that he was wearing one at the camp site - I would never put that style of zip-up hoodie on without any shirt underneath.

I think it's valuable information because at this point, the easiest to spot item we know was with Deorr are his blue pants - if he also had a shirt on that could be another easier to see item, while the boots and hoodie are both nearly invisible in the forest by design.

Bear in mind that it might not be the same jacket he was wearing when he disappeared, though. I believe he had more than one pair of camo boots, so he may well have had more than one camo jacket too.

Man, that little jacket would be hard to spot out there. His blue pants, too, would fade over time and become harder to spot. Poor little guy.

But on the plus side, that jacket is synthetic so it won't rot away quickly like a cotton or wool hoodie would, and the zipper will stick around for a long time too.
