Doesn't dislocation hurt? IDK.

Sure, but after a while the pain would not be as acute if left untreated.

No one has to agree with me and I am not asking them to. It is just my own observation.

So they left him at the campsite with GGP and IR while they went to the store and who knows where. That's how it sounds anyway. Is that what your getting from this?
I was thinking this also. I'm obviously not sure what he ment but this is a possibility for sure. And I'm sorry but IR raised red flags with me.

Guess that letter clarifies the reason for Vilt's departure.

This is the interview people were saying it looks like they are physically "holding her up?" Yeah...I'm just not seeing that. Just looks like she's sitting with her head down. Sure, he's holding onto her arm. But not holding her up. She's sniffing a lot and seems upset, yes. But no matter what happened...her child is gone, so that's expected. Is she crying because he wandered off and went missing or is she crying because she or her fiance caused him to go missing? Sadly, only a few people know the answer to that.

I agree. I didn't see anyone holding her up.

If the parents had left DeOrr with IR whilst they went to the shop, wouldn't they have just said that to start with? I really, really don't think they would cover up anything to protect IR.

To protect ggp is a possibility... But they don't seem selfless or loyal enough to risk getting themselves in trouble to protect an old man. JMO.

From Vilt's letter:

“In my professional opinion, both of you lied and misrepresented true facts that could solve the mystery of your missing son.” He continues to say, “I believe that the searches will all be nonproductive. The searches are only used by you to cover a possible crime that one or both of you may have committed.” He suggests that the parents fully cooperate with the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office and tell the truth. “I do not appreciate the fact that one or both of you are spreading rumors that you paid me. I also feel that you are exploiting the public for financial gain.”

Lots of pressure on the parents now.

I wonder why he didn't announce it publically at the time, if he was so sure...

Or on purpose.

If hot-car death, the possibilities are:
* pure accident...but then why cover up?
* ongoing parenting practice - they use the car as a babysitter and know it's wrong
* angry/frustrated with him and put him in the car to "shut him up" or something like that, perhaps even after hurting him
It does look distorted in photo, although I have experienced shoulder dislocation twice and there is no way on gods green earth I would have stopped screaming long enough to pose for a picture. I also remember a friend of mine growing up who experienced it as well and she howled long and hard until her dad "popped" it back in place. Theses are only my experiences with dislocation so I could be wrong on how it feels to others.

"The searches are only used by you to cover a possible crime that one or both of you may have committed.”

This is interesting. I feel like it's significant -- but I'm not sure to what.

Whether he is correct or not is not certain, but he certainly is saying that he does not think Deorr is to be found anywhere near the camping site.

If he is a decent human being he would have gone to LE with his suspicions and they may have asked Vilt to keep it quiet until they had more evidence. IMO

Injuries can present differently with each patient and this is a weird angle pic. You are right that after the initial injury the pain wouldn't be enough to slow most kids down. Shoulder dislocation is something that happens frequently to plenty of non-abused or neglected children as well, so the possibility of one common childhood injury doesn't set off alarms for me. Personal story- I dislocated one of my kids shoulders on accident. Getting a younger sibling into grocery cart, toddler trying to help turned into a headfirst dive for the asphalt. I grabbed what I could & popped it right out. Saved the head & managed not to drop the other kid. The screaming kiddo, followed by me calmly popping it back into place and telling the child to sit down got me some looks, but everyone was fine. :-) Also, Deorr is basically naked in this pic, no odd bruising patterns visible- which would be concerning. My big hangup with this not being dislocated is that there is flexion of the arm, if it was dislocated it would just be hanging there. However in a still pic it might just be resting weirdly on the bed giving the impression of being flexed. Could go either way!

I've wondered this as well. I'm wondering how LE would have felt about that letter being sent to his ex-clients? I'm assuming Vilt went to LE as soon as he felt they weren't being truthful. Would a PI be legally required to report his beliefs or suspicions if it was just based on the parents not being truthful? Since Vilt personally knew Deorr, maybe he felt the right thing to do was keep it between ex-clients, himself, and LE.

I know. I have the same feeling.

At the moment (subject to change), I'm wondering if the little boy never made it out of the vehicle. Then again, IR says he saw the boy at the campsite. But did he see him out of the car? We don't know, do we?
