A very good one to remove from our nightmares.
Thank goodness he cleared that up! I was fuming (pun intended) over that statement. I knew what he meant, but also knew many others didn't. But to be fair, I doubt that he realized how it would be construed. (You have to learn to pick your words very carefully on SM, Mr. Klein.) Anyway, kudos to him and his team for putting that one to rest.
It is hard to imagine that anyone will be charged with murder. The child was 2 and 1/2. The parents have not turned on each other. The possibility always exists that he is somewhere up there and fell prey to the elements, animals, the water whatever. There is no body. The parents say abduction. What jury member would convict on these ambiguous details? It appears LE and the PI have decided to turn up the heat. i dont think it is going to work. JMO
SB said he was waiting for the reports from the FBI. Those came back in January. If someone had a legitimate tip, I don't believe s/he would have waited for the parents to be named suspects. JMO
I get your point. I was just pointing out that it also never has been established that DeOrr wasn't IN the store either without a doubt. And apparently someone may have seen him in the truck. To me it's just really important to not forget that DeOrr may have actually been there. It could change where he may be and narrow down time. And if someone said they thought they seen him in the truck and the clerk isn't credible then he could be closer to the camp ground. Not in snake river or an hour away.Of course I would go back and try to jog the clerk's memory and it makes total sense to do that... If my child was actually with me at the store. If he wasn't then there's a totally different reason why he would go in and ask the clerk those questions. My point is that it hasn't been established without a doubt that Deorr was IN the store with the parents.
I doubt they withheld information or told any lies. The polygraph reading was interpreted by the examiner to be inconclusive. Their tests did not show deception.

"They know what happened and where Deorr is currently."

Wait... Doesn't that mean they lied? :waitasec:
This sounds like SB is saying that they are lying, without a doubt! Thanks for pulling this up, I had forgotten about it!Sheriff Bowerman:

I've been away from home most of the day. Has this been posted yet? It's an additional comment published today from Klein in re: his Facebook Q&A from the other day. I am relieved to read this, even tho it doesn't explain to what happened to Little DeOrr:
Klein Investigations and Consulting Good afternoon. Yesterday in an interview Mr Klein answered the question regarding the Deorr Kunz case. We feel we need to clarify Mr Klein's answer. The question involved whether or not there was any evidence to suggest that the child may have been burned. Mr Klein response was no comment. We have received numerous emails and questions regarding his comment. To clarify at this time we have no evidence that suggests that the child had been burned. Thank you again for all of your emails and messages.
He lived with his paternal grandfather, who also uses the name Deorr. The great-grandfather on the camping trip is Jessica's grandfather and his initials are RW.
I completely agree with this: nothing of the timeline from 8am to 2:22pm is true but a "myth" and, therefore, no basis for what happened.
I guess my point was that if the parents were suspects from the beginning (in the minds of LE), it's unfortunate that they weren't able to find anything while the weather was still decent. The FBI must have had some input before January, I would think. I'm just glad the case is moving forward, but I can't help but wonder if charges will be on hold until the snow melts and additional evidence can be gathered. I'm wondering if phone pings are helping and if it really took until January to get that type of information... I think that Klein's involvement has sped things up also and he wasn't hired until November/December IIRC, so well after the first snowfall. Just bad timing, I guess...
Maybe there is nothing up there to find? Since we don't know the last time little Deorr was seen....where he might be is no longer confined to the campground area, correct?

The search has been officially suspended. The sheriff said investigators from Bonneville and Bingham counties have offered assistance in further follow-up investigations into any possible criminal histories of those involved.
