So if you saw my post, Bowerman is now quoted saying that THE PARENTS ARE LYING!

With regard to my post #555, the second part was never answered. It seems the joint custody issue was the attention grabber.
I had been wondering if little Deorr was planned or a surprise? It just seemed unusual to me that a woman with 2 children that she did not have living with her would start a new relationship and have another child.

eta: sometimes I just wonder about things.

From SM sleuthing...I am 97% sure that JM left her marriage for VDK. Some pages are no longer public but I gathered this information long ago. Also, JM and VDK were childhood sweethearts...went their separate ways, married..JM had children etc. Then, they reconnected. Not that I'm disagreeing with your comment just putting the history out there.

Thank goodness. No more mincing words!

I just got a Google alert for this article!

“We know that the parents aren’t telling the truth, and they know that we know that they’re lying,” Bowerman said. “I know that they know where the little boy is and what happened to him.”

Yaaaaaasssss. Finally, a definitively, straight worded statement regarding the parents and the stories they have told.

Actually there were rumors that GGP did have his dog with him. It barked a lot and was generally annoying. IIRC

Also JM had a dog there--two dogs, right?

Thank goodness someone in authority finally came out with clarity on that! My heavens, let's all sit on the fence for 6 weeks about the difference between a truth and a lie. No doubt had little Deorr survived his parents much longer he could've explained to us the difference.

Thanks DatelineFan!

Well! He certainly leaves no room for debate.

Oh, so they are lying? What a surprise. Hopefully this will stop the "less than truthful" arguments.
Wow! <modsnip>I didn't love the rest of what the sheriff had to say though. I wonder what happened to all the items sent to the FBI? Still hoping for early thaw and some more focused searches. The way VDK couldn't stop talking about his truck I have to figure little Deorr will be found somewhere not too far off the road in the campsite.

“We know that the parents aren’t telling the truth, and they know that we know that they’re lying,” Bowerman said. “I know that they know where the little boy is and what happened to him.”

They know LE know they are lying, and imo they know the public knows they are lying. That's why they aren't even bothering to go through the motions of pretending to look or plead for their son any more, or proclaim their innocence. Jmo.

I don't know... What would you do if LE were accusing you of something like this, *if* your kid have genuinely gone missing? I don't think I'd be remaining silent and posting pictures of myself having fun in the snow. Jmo.

Of course. They gave up all pretense it seems months ago. That is one of the most frustrating things about people "not wanting to convict them in the court of public opinion" they aren't trying to keep up the charade so why should we give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope someone watched them when they were "searching" just in case they returned to the scene. I know next to nothing about cadaver dogs but I sure hope LE goes nuts with armies of them up there on that mountain.

Although this came as no surprise, my mind immediately went to a photo posted here of the snow covered Leadore area and I wondered how could anyone abandon their child there or anywhere? Time for someone to step up!

LYING
Finally...Amen.

Ahhh, I saw that. But, I'm pretty sure they were baby fish.
Any takers?

I'll raise you a "Guppy" :)

Late to the party tonight. LOL

Great news about the sheriff putting things out on the table.

I like the idea of searchers going up there after the spring thaw with cadaver dogs and trying again. Maybe with a little luck the dogs could find him. Running them up and down the roads leading to and from the campground is a good idea. If it was a quick pullover and get rid of body attempt then he may not be too far off of a road. If dogs could be run up and down some of the back roads they may get lucky to get a scent.

That's my understanding too - that there were 2 dogs (JM and GGPA)

Wow! I could swear there was someone who didn't believe that, oh well I can't remember maybe it was a dream. I didn't love the rest of what the sheriff had to say though. Imo, there's more to be said about VK's truck.
I just hate that there's probably an easy answer, but there are so many "maybes" and "possibilities" that leave the case "unsolved".
Yes, LE could have a lot of evidence to solve what happened to sweet baby D'Orr, but after over 7 months, with 4 POIs, I hate, HATE that NO ONE is being held accountable for ANYTHING!!
A child is missing. Maybe he's alive. Maybe he's dead. HE ISN'T HERE!
After this long, declare SOMETHING! Missing, Deceased, Hidden, Abducted, etc. DECLARE SOMETHING
