I don't like Klein any more than you do but I don't think he threw them under the bus. I don't have a problem with Klein's conclusions based on his investigation. What I DO have a problem with is him overstepping his bounds and presenting himself as a LE official when he is not. There was no reason for him to blast case sensitive information all over the media, he is NOT LE, he does not owe the public anything. No reason, except to feed his ego. He should have conducted his investigation and then presented his findings to his client and then to LE. Period. Anything beyond is unprofessional at best. imo.

I agree my friend. He will hurt his future cases/ investigations by being labeled by police as the investigation firm that you should not share information with. Jmo.

Just read both Allen Browning's and Klein's responses. IMO Browning comes out ahead on this one. His answers make much more sense than Klein's.

Also Klein stated the money from the fundraising is in a special account and he's spent $60,000 so far and will the rest for search teams when they can get in there.

I so agree. It drives me insane when people say (not here on websleuths--anywhere!) the parents would be in jail right now if LE had evidence DeOrr is dead. Or JM would be in jail if she said she knows where the body is. (This is seeming to be something DK's new attorney likes to put out there!)

To be honest, I used to think the same, before I started following cases. That suspect was obviously guilty, why isn't LE arresting them? Through following cases and trials, and learning from the awesome posters here, I've realized we often only see the tip of the iceberg.

Just a point of clarification. Klein was paid $20k by funds raised by donations. That's it.

The other money to pay for the investigation comes from his personal trust.

He has calculated the expenses and man hours and shared them at least a couple times during the process. This was never designed to be a lucrative endeavor for his firm.

Donations? They've been asking for donations since DeOrr disappeared, and I have yet to see that any of it was spent on searching for him (with the exception of the money that we know went to Klein).

They've made $20k....Donations are not going to support them.

The Teresa Sievers case is a great example! Some people defended the husband like crazy, and were like, if they have something on the husband, he'd be arrested. It took like eight months to arrest him. But he's in the slam now! Hope something similar happens here soon!

How will they support themselves with Jessica not working?

My guess is if she was let go and not from her own will that she would most likely qualify for Unemployment...

IF she qualifies for the highest amount of unemployment support in Idaho it will only be $300~ per week. It is not an idedinite fund, and where Idaho is a right to work state she may not qualify.

And what would her reason for termination be that will be deemed acceptable by the unemployment department ?

-Rhetorical- Don't answer that.

Just as in other states, one of the stipulations of receiving unemployment benefits in Idho is that you are "actively seeking work." Will JM be more active in her search for work than she has been in the search for . . . her son (esp. when his abduction was the belief spouted by the parents . . )?

I was getting 383 a month in Idaho a year ago. But my income was much higher then a CNA position.

I'm sure her presence must be an uncomfortable distraction. There must have been pressure on her employer to suspend her until this is sorted out.

Still reading to catch up but do we know for sure that VK isn't working either? I thought his employer was present during the original search. Why would he lose his job?

Leanna Harris (mother of Cooper Harris, the little boy whose father intentionally murdered him by leaving him in a hot car) went back to work (I'm pretty she's in the healthcare field) pretty soon after Cooper's death. Besides issuing a statement through her lawyer, Leanna has never spoken to the media. I don't believe she is active on any FB pages for Cooper and I don't believe there is a lot of social media activity in regards to the case. When you google Leanna's name, you will find many articles about her. So why is it that Leanna still has her job while Jessica was let go? Of course each women works under a different employer....but I think that when Jessica engages in social media, she feeds the flames. Employers don't want to deal with people calling up and harassing them for hiring a child murderer and I think that is more likely to happen when a case is really active on social media. There is a big difference between reading an article on a case on a news website and spending hours each day arguing with people online and cyberstalking family members...In the second, you are way more engaged and invested in the case. Also, how many co-workers was Jessica friends with on FB who see how she is carrying herself? You cannot erase the negative Google search results but you can carry yourself in a more professional manner.

I think Klein's anonymous party is Klein.

You're implying that he is a rogue who has this power over LE. Wouldn't someone from LE publicly counter him?

The difference is that Jessica has been officially named, by LE, as a suspect in the disappearance and probable death of a child. How can her employers continue to let her work with vulnerable people after that?

In the interview; Klein seems like he was chastised by LE. So if he cares about finding kids and moving on to the next as he states. Then maybe he should back off from releasing information to the media.

Throughout his interviews; some people think he is speaking for LE as well since he states that they are working hand in hand. So he just needs to be careful since LE has to set the bar at a higher standard when announcing things to the media sometimes.
