Genuine question - does anyone else, having been 100% certain that JM & VDK are culpable, have occasional swings in thinking and have strong feelings that they might actually be innocent?

If not, I'll get my coat, but I am having strong swings between innocence & guilt and I don't know why as I was so sure from the beginning of their guilt :offtobed:

Depends what you mean by "guilt"...Harming their child? Hiding their child that someone else harmed? Covering up the truth? Etc. etc. etc. I am trying to keep an open mind to anything...but my gut tells me they know more than they are telling.

I used to think there was a chance they were innocent until I heard they can't keep their stories straight about who made breakfast and other details of that nature. If there were only failed polygraphs I would still think they were possibly innocent, but there is no reason their stories would be so mixed up if they were innocent.

ETA - I think any normal person would think like this. It's called having reasonable doubt and I believe it's fair at this point in the case.

There are a lot of child killers that had a child-like mentality. But I really doubt mom and dad would cover for I.R if they did think that he was guilty. Also ggp is old and needy of assistance. So if a true accident did happen via ggp; Mom and dad would have said so.

So what does this tell us about mom and dad. Imo. They both know what happened and one of them were the main cause. Now the one who is blinded by love will usually cover for the other until death do them part.

So who is more in love with the other ? Dad via mom or mom via dad?

Now dad knows that mom other kids are with their dad for whatever reason. So new dad probably thought that things would be different with baby Deorr.

But imo. He underestimated that maybe the mother of his child lost main custody of her kids for a reason. Idk.

Your gut
My gut
FBI's gut
Bowerman's gut
Klein's gut
Maybe even some of their friends' and relatives' guts

I think it was in regards to a question about how the fundraising has been going.

Even knowing the interview won't be too hard hitting, I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to do a little statement analysis and see how many times they speak about Deorr in past tense (deceased) and when they share blame (we) versus what issues they will take ownership of (I). I will also be looking to see who/what they try to push Deorr's disappearance onto.

The thing is, they've probably been studying up and practicing since becoming aware of things like statement analysis and body language analysis. And I'm sure their attorney has rehearsed them. That being said, hopefully there will be leakage.

Sure... But then I go over the facts of the case and recall the parents' behaviour since DeOrr disappeared in my mind and each time I come to the same conclusion :(

I think mom would do anything for dad. Before she shut down her FB page, a couple of years ago (prior to DeOrr, I believe), Jessica posted a Throwback Thursday picture of herself and Vernal from a high school dance. Yes, that's right, folks, they were high school sweethearts and we all remember how "strong" our first love felt to us, right? The comments on the photo were along the lines of "Oh, you two look so cute! When's the wedding?" Jessica's response was "You'll have to ask DeOrr." Yep, mom would do anything for dad. He's got her...hook, line and sinker.

I've gone back and forth. It's been really hard for me to decide.
SB seems like a great guy. I kinda like him. I think he knows what he's doing. And like him I have to agree with the experts. But if not for that I probably wouldn't question their innocence this much.

Every once in a while. I think about how horrible it would be to lose a child & then have all this, but I feel that is just wishful thinking.
Then I go back to hating them because whatever happened, they are lying to cover up the disappearance of their child.

I always come back to the fact that the most cautious, patient, mild-mannered sheriff I've ever seen (who also is privy to the evidence) has called them suspects. Then I listen to Klein ramble about how miserably they failed their lie detector tests.... These two men are about as different as day and night, but together they have a lot of experience, and they both suspect the parents (and they both also believe that DeOrr is deceased). In order for the parents to be innocent in this, someone or something has to have caused DeOrr's disappearance and/or death (undetected, at a campground with 4 adults present) and done so in a manner that has totally tricked LE/FBI/Klein into thinking it was the parents (or alternatively, LE/FBI/Klein are framing the parents). It's impossible for me to take the words of JM and DK over the words of LE and Klein. What the parents are guilty of exactly remains to be seen, but I have no doubt they were involved in the disappearance of their son. MOO.

Wonder if we'll be watching an UNedited interview? Is this "live" at 10???

I'm pretty sure it's already been recorded (maybe even rehearsed beforehand, for all we know) and most likely heavily edited with a stamp of approval from Mr. Browning, if I had to guess... JMO

SABBM

When the 'thanks' button isn't enough. Completely agree.

If it weren't for the outright lying bit.....
And no, I'm not hating on them. Just have a feeling of cold disgust for anyone who can lie about their own flesh and blood baby --whether he is just missing, accident, or murdered ; who acts like this ?

Although I'm not ready to jump on any "I.R. is innocent" bandwagon, if he was in any way connected to foul play; my .02 is that DK and JM would've thrown him under the bus in a millisecond. What value has IR to them ? Nothing... just friend or acquaintance of ggp who was invited on the trip.

Well, unless IR knows "something" and they (DK & JM) don't want to antagonize him ?

:moo:

Yes I agree with you they will have been studying and being coached by their attorney. That being said some "stuff" is hard to coach away. I would like to know how VDK normally talks, you know when he's not trying to cover up a missing toddler. LE and Klein would know because they would've chatted him up during the course of doing actual interviews. For "our" purposes the only side of VDK we've seen is a guy who can't say more than 5 words without stopping and editing himself and mixing pronouns all over the place. I also am interested to see if JM is going to speak a little bit more, who knows what treasures her speech might hold?

Does anybody know when the next search is going to take place?

Klein had said within the next 30-45 days (i.e., whenever the ground thaws).

I'm trying to wrap my head around and understand how people in this world can do hurtful things to others.....How do people get so messed up? Is it like bad brain wiring or something? Learned behavior?

I don't think VK or JM wanted to do this interview. I think it was strongly suggested by Browning.

What's everyone been vocal about? "Why aren't the parents speaking out?" "Why aren't they begging for the return of their child if they think he's been abducted?"- Browning is going to get them out in the public eye.

I also see it as a last ditch effort to buy some sympathy and cause just the tiniest bit of doubt with everyone watching. Everyone watching is a potential member of the jury if there is ever a trial. The media can help/hurt both sides.

SB's last statement made me feel a bit uneasy. I don't know if he has serious doubts about what happened or if he just doesn't want to say he knows what happened and then have the public ready with pitchforks outside his door wondering why they haven't been arrested yet. I do hope if he has any doubts, it's based on accident or intentional or maybe who the guilty party/parties is/are.
