After reading a bit over on the Cooper Harris threads, I'm wondering more about a possible hot car death. Cooper died just over a year before Deorr. Deorrs parents would've known they'd have criminal charges against them, thus the need to stage an elaborate cover up. I know this wasn't Georgia heat, but it does get hot in Idaho falls in the summer months. On July 4 it got up to 94 degrees, the days following mostly in the 80's.

Whichever is more confusing is what they are referring to. I heard they had a giant spork up on the mountain and I think we all know what that means...

a giant eagle would need a giant spork, right?

Certainly possible - especially if it happened before the camping trip (which was then used to stage his disappearance). It is much warmer in Idaho Falls than Leadore or Timber Creek. On July 9th, it shows it was 83 in Idaho Falls. That's plenty warm. Not sure how it fits with the suggested blunt force, but that's all just speculation anyway, I assume. If the car was parked outside, unless it was somewhere secluded, there is a chance that someone would have observed something like Jessica or Vernal freaking out when they realized he was dead. (Unless it was done on purpose). I don't know.... anything is possible I guess.

Which reminds me of the witnesses that came forward with information under the conditions that they remained anonymous. I was reading back on an earlier thread and had forgotten about that.

That was one of my early theories (probably not just me but I remember thinking it). If they actually went for the walk maybe instead of leaving DeOrr to hang out with GGP they let him sleep in their truck. Maybe GGP was supposed to keep an eye on him while they were gone but he fell asleep. Maybe DeOrr fell asleep on the way back from the store. Easier to just let him sleep. Now that all their stories have fallen apart I don't know anymore. I agree it would get hot enough, especially if they left the windows rolled up.

But I'm not sure - did they go to the store? When? Was DeOrr ever at the campground? How long was Vernal gone before they called 911?

It's crazy after all this time we don't have answers to the same questions we had a year ago.

My only problem with this theory is.... wouldn't the cadaver dogs have been ALL OVER his car seat if he had passed away inside the vehicle?

I feel like DeOrr was never at the campground (alive). If he died in a hot car, it could have happened earlier in the week, though, and then the camping trip was set up to stage his disappearance?

I think it's possible the trip was set up as a cover and if we say he died before the trip hot car death is only one of a million possibilities.

Well, I'm thinking it could have happened before the trip to Leadore. And that they used the trip as a cover up whether it was a previously planned trip or not, maybe they just used it advantageously. In this scenario, it could have been a totally different car seat, it's common to have one for each vehicle. Then that one could have been disposed of. Sheriff B did say they had some interesting activity by the dogs, but he never revealed specifics.

And a million places for him to be hidden... ugh.

That's a good point. Did Jessica own a vehicle? Did they have another vehicle that wasn't at the campsite? If there was a second vehicle at their home I doubt it was searched in those early stages.

Considering they were at a remote mountain campsite, with horrible roads where it has been reported it's hard to do even 20 miles per hour, I highly doubt danger number two to be one of the greatest danger facing a child wandering off in those conditions. Drowning, falling or animals would be the most likely "greatest dangers". IMO, of course.

Of all of the lies and deceptive narratives from everyone, the one that has always raised hairs on the back of my neck is Vernal's account of how Deorr liked to put his arm up the tail pipes of his trucks. I think there has to be something to this. Did he get backed over when no one checked where he was before moving the vehicle? Is it as simple as this? Yes that begs the question why hide it if it was an accident. I think they were drunk or high when whatever happened, happened. And it may not have been at the campsite. It could have been on the way up.

Even if they only had one vehicle, sometimes they keep an extra for grandparents, etc. I thought I remembered her having a vehicle though.

I know, or even the day / night before. Or the day of since they didn't reach the campground until late in the evening. Maybe they left him in the car while going to get items for the campout.

Why do I feel like I'm going in circles ? :banghead:

Yes this!

I have gone a million directions in my mind but I keep coming back to the truck also. In that scenario I would assume the driver was high or drunk when the accident happened. I go one further and imagine perhaps there were other factors involved which led the parents down to cover it up. You would certainly get in trouble if you were drunk and drove over your kid, but what would make both parents clam up? I know this is speculation but if Deorr had some other injuries when he was killed perhaps that would make both parents circle the wagons.

Nothing that hasn't been said 100 times but it's safe to say something dirty and terrible happened to make both of these traitorous people able to unify and stonewall the investigators, despite not even being a couple any longer.

I agree it's truck related too. And alcohol related. And possibly Grandpa related. Vernal told the truck story and his dad blurbed about where fluids were found on the truck.

If the parents hadn't been caught out telling porkie pies I would assume DeOrr simply wandered off far beyond the search grid (it's happened before) but they have been pronounced liars by every single authority who has spent any time with them.

I don't think they're murderers, I think there was an accident and they made a stupid decision and it's snowballed. And that is my position on it today, I reserve the right to change my mind whenever I fancy.

There is an interesting post by the admins on Deorr's Spotlight FB page.

Anyone here live in Idaho?

Interesting that it's concerning the Gilmore area, and the web cam showing the black truck that is parked on the pull off where someone is seen walking down the side of the road. This one.

SABBM

It's not you. :)
There are people here at WS who have shown more care for little DeOrr than either of his parents !

We are all coming back to the parents because of their inconsistencies, lack of caring for DeOrr Jr., and outright lies.
Over and over, ad nauseam.

The possibility of D Jr. being hidden points to something about him that might have put certain people behind bars. something worse than an accident; imo.
I still think he may never have made it to the campsite.

Glad there are people willing to keep his case alive -- because his own parents haven't done that from the beginning.
