Given how the defense has worked to date, I wouldn't expect a long one from them. Short and to the point. ANY doubt

Curious as to who will do the closing arguments for the state.

I asked up thread but does anyone know if JB is appointing a foreman or if they're selecting their own?
Pretty sure that early on he said they would select their own bit if you put me under oath, I won’t swear to it

The texts are really awful, deranged and disgusting. There seems no doubt now about Lori's involvement in the murders. I go back and forth about who was manipulating whom. I think there would have been more deaths if they weren't stopped.
Oh yes, without a doubt there would be more deaths. In a very short time they would have been out of money. Another zombie would have to die.

Totally agree. I think Lori was sick and tired of being the other woman, so she pushed Chad away, knowing (hoping) he’d leave Tammy. Whether or not Lori wanted Tammy to die, I don’t know. But Lori was definitely manipulating Chad. And notice it wasn’t much longer before Tammy was a 0.
IMO Lori was definitely manipulating Chad to do her bidding. She was literally leading him around by the..............ah nose.

I think you meant she was leading him by the storm.

Ballsy move
True. However, I can't imagine the defense they could mount that would counter the evidence that has been presented. Also, going silent/running away when cornered is kind of her MO.

Casting blame on CD or AC would not make her innocent of the conspiracy- there is no rational explanation for why she did not help the police and why she lied on behalf of her co-conspirators absent the conspiracy. I think she is trying to salvage her reputation with the family and the true believers with a childish, "Now I am not going to tell you, but it is a super super spiritual reason that you mortals totally would not understand." In the recorded phone calls she never explained her side of the story because it is indefensible, and she knows that. She is just trying to brazen it out by insisting that there is a really great explanation that we can't know about. I don't think she ever planned to testify, but I think she teased the idea to be able to say she wanted to, but her counsel told her, "No."

Post-verdict- she can tell her family and friends that she can't talk about what really happened to preserve her shot at an appeal. I think she is realizing that her ability to manipulate is now limited to family and the other Daybell Dingbelles, and they may be out of her range now, too.

I think she thinks she will walk out of jail on verdict day. I really do, per the big smile Nate Eaton observed on Lori's face before Archibald stated the state has not proven their case. My opinion.

I for one am glad to see this coming to an end at least for LC, These 2 people are evil, self serving, megalomaniacs and lunatics. They motivated to kill and killed innocent people under the guise of God’s work. Maybe Satan will allow them to sit on a bed naked together surrounded by hell’s fire for eternity. Feeling a little salty tonite, sorry if I offend anyone.

‘The defense rests’
Pahaha they don’t need a rest they haven’t even worked up a sweat!

Can the jury make an inference on the fact the defense have put on no case or is it the same as the 5th amendment where the jury can’t decide that not testifying makes a defendant look bad?

Because from this angle, it sure looks like they haven’t put on a case because THEY HAVEN’T GOT ONE.

Those texts have her bang to rights and they know it. Complicit in everything and appears to have been the driving force behind JJ and Tylee especially, seems she was eager to be rid of them imo.
I hope the law is explained clearly so that the jury know LV did not need to be present to be guilty of murder.

If not for LV, those beautiful children would still be alive today.

All MOO

Anybody know if ID is one of the states where if the defense doesn't call any witnesses then the state doesn't get a rebuttal closing?
Is this any help?

Occasionally the defense may choose not to make a closing statement. If so, the plaintiff or government loses the right to make a second argument.

When looking through data pulled from an iCloud account belonging to Alex Cox, an internet search piqued Nicholas Edwards’ interest.

What would a Grendel round do to a Dodge Dakota?

“The Daybells owned a Dodge Dakota, and that naturally caught my attention,” Edwards, an investigator for the Idaho Attorney General, told prosecutors Tuesday in the trial of Lori Vallow Daybell.

According to Edwards, Cox made the search in question on Oct. 9, 2019 — the same day Tammy Daybell was shot at in her driveway by a masked man. And 6.5 Grendel is a rifle round that can be shot from a specific AR-15 model, which police found at Alex Cox’s apartment while carrying out a search warrant.

Cox that day also searched “how to clean an AR (15)?” And the day before, he searched “Grendel 6.5 drop from 100 to 300 yards.”

“If you’re searching for a drop, you’re trying to figure out how far you can shoot and hit the target?” prosecutor Lindsey Blake asked Edwards, who answered “yes.”
