I thought that during closing only statements about evidence submitted to the court could be used? Archibald is making statements about things that haven’t been put forward to the court as evidence eg how much Charles earned, how many people Chad recruited, how many people Lori recruited. Or is it different for the defence, they can say what they like?

Is it just me or does it seem that so far Archibald is saying yes this all happened just the way the prosecution did but it’s all CDs fault? Pretty sure the jury doesn’t care whether LVD killed her kids because CD convinced her to or the other way around.

Yeah, he's pointing to a lot of little things in the State's narrative that don't really make sense, but then again, I'm sure most people would think that killing anyone doesn't usually make much sense. CD and LVD weren't trying to do the logical things (divorce their spouses, let Kay take JJ), because the logical things went against their egos.

I do hope the jury remembers that what Archibald says is not evidence. Seems like he is slipping in an awful lot. Especially that bit about Lori lied to protect Chad. He could have had witness testimony to that effect but did not.

I don’t know. Archibald is doing the best he can. And he’s right, this was definitely about the religious beliefs Lori and Chad held. State never mentioned the kids being light or dark.
I don’t know why Wood would not bring up religious beliefs. This seems like a fail/fail to me from the very beginning.

I get that Lori is guilty. But Archibald is giving jurors plenty of reasonable doubt.
