MONTEVIEW — The mother of a teenager who has been missing for over three weeks believes her daughter ran away to re-join members of The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern Utah.

Elintra Fischer, 16, left her Monteview home on Jan. 1 in her mother’s gray Honda Civic. The car was later found at a gas station but Elintra is still missing.

.....

Elintra is described as 5’5”, 135 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. If you see her or the vehicle, please contact your local law enforcement or Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 208-745-9210 extension 7.

MONTEVIEW — Local law enforcement have released a new photo of a runaway they have been searching for since Jan. 1.

The new photo of 16-year-old Elintra Fischer shows her in dark clothing, her hair pulled back and a cat in her arms.

“This is very much an active case, and we are again requesting help from the public in locating Elintra,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.

It has been two months since Elintra was reported as a runaway by her mother, Elizabeth Roundy.

Elintra left her Monteview home in her mother’s car. However, the vehicle -— a gray 2015 Honda Civic -— was found at a gas station in McCammon in January.

Officials say she was reported to be wearing a “prairie dress” (FLDS style) at the time she left home.

The sheriff’s office believes she may be in Utah. Deputies have been working with Utah law enforcement to find her.

This is a very interesting video of interviews by Nate Eaton of the East Idaho News. Elintra's mother comes on at 12:00. The opening interviews are with the Executive Director of "Holding Out Help," and with an attorney talking about children who are under control of the FLDS being reunited with their non-FLDS parents,

RIGBY — Elintra Fischer has been missing for nearly four months.

The 16-year-old left her Monteview home on New Year’s Day in her mother’s Honda Civic. The car was later found at a gas station with a letter Elintra wrote but there has been no sign of her anywhere.

Elizabeth Roundy, Elintra’s mother, believes her daughter is with members of the FLDS Church. Roundy, her children and her ex-husband were members of the church but the mother has since left the religion.

Roundy participated in a news conference this week in Southern Utah where she joined other families in similar situations. They want their loved ones back and their children found.

EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton spoke with Roundy, Tonia Tewell and Roger Hoole. Hoole is a Utah-based attorney who has helped hundreds of people who have fled or been kicked out of polygamy. Tewell is the Executive Director of Holding Out HELP, an organization focused on providing care to people coming from a polygamous background.
