Thanks for clarifying. I wonder what he represented Chad in specifically if not this case. And why even pay for a hearing to keep the guy? She should just go with a public defender bc these are serious charges. The real argument should be "dont let this guy defend her bc he doesnt even practice the right type of law and I dont want to beat someone so easily in court and get it brought up later"

I do wonder what happened to the woman that quit the team. She was an actual criminal defense attorney. My (MOO) uneducated guess is she did not believe Lori would be a good client at all probably due to lying. I'm sure the female lawyer had an idea that the kids might be found and she would be charged and being guilty doesnt discourage criminal defense attorneys. Makes you wonder what the deal breaker was when she was the best choice. I think Lori's lying put too much risk on Edwina for misconduct and/or uninformed crappy strategy with "the kids are safe dont worry" and then get found on CD's property. Edwina probably didnt know that, but she could guess that Lori would never be honest about what could come out so her atty could plan ahead

Do we know who handled TD's probate? I can't help but wonder all the things that MM might know about, and how far back it might go. Especially considering the fact that MM and Judge Eddins believe that having that information out in the public eye might infringe LVD's right to a fair trial. Does MM have knowledge of how CD moved money around between October and February, for instance? Etc.

He was very involved in the local Methodist church group, and while some people he worked with could see he wasn't nice, some people really liked him. I think he was also very careful about who he ‘recruited’ and who he discussed his beliefs with. He was very aware that his ‘enlightened’ beliefs where not in line with the LDS church and that knowledge in the right hands would threaten his membership. I think it’s part of why more people aren’t coming forward. They may not have believed, or even heard of all his beliefs, but they were still doing enough to jeopardize their membership.

No, shirts that go to the elbow for men when they are traditionally short sleeved are not really a thing. However, based on shirt material and cut of the shirts some may appear that way because all men are built differently. Unless you’re willing to pay a little more or get things tailored the fit isn’t always ideal. All jmo

Actually I think @SleuthD-o-doubleg is probably right, now that I think about it. He's rather pear-shaped; he probably shops at a big and tall store, and ends up getting shirts that fit his girth but not his length/height. LVD temporarily cured him of that, it seems. I imagine his prison jumpsuits will fit OK.

I agree. He was breathy and said um but he kinda had the cadence of a preacher towards the end. And he did tell the people with confidence what they needed to tell their ward when they got home. So if he is all humbly bumbly and then gives them a confident statement, I think it stands out more to the listener. In my opinion, he dressed the roll of a young missionary. Very unsuspecting. JMO

I doubt she got a perm done in prison. It looks like she braids her hair while damp and then takes the braids out when it dries to create waves.
