I thought she was wearing a different top yesterday. The sweater had fitted sleeves and the top from yesterday looked more like a blouse. Do we know if she still has contact with her family (sister/parents/niece)?

From September 10th and the June hearing screenshots

Sources: crimetalk and EastIdahoNews screencaps.. lemme see if I can get one with arms from yesterday and brb. Either way... she's baby blue matchy match with her mask.

ETA: Yesterday, she never brought up her arms to see if also long sleeves, but does look like a different hue. This will be her color hue for hearings... baby blue?

ETA #2: Interesting, now that we have heard that Lori complained that Colby wasn't at the first hearing, that he is at this June 30 hearing on Zoom which took many of us aback. Lori, beware of what you ask for. SMDH... what manipulation she has done.

iirc, they were taking core samples of the ground during retrievals. I would think that they would be able to isolate the pet cemetery samples to determine if petroleum/gas was in that area in high concentration?
Yes, a positive result could help the prosecution, but a negative one would not absolve Chad. She could have been burned in the fire pit. They had several bonfires in it afterwards.

4) Don't know what their strategy is going to be without throwing Lori under the bus. All on Alex, neither knew (which after Alex dies, that goes out the window)... have no idea what the heck their strategy will be, other than throw MG/LE and others to discredit and/or impeach. As I have stated many times, MG is easily impeached from what we have seen and heard .. that's a fact. And almost ALL jury instructions I have ever read/heard... the instructions say the juror can throw out all testimony of an impeached witness (or partially... but they can throw out all to hang jury MOO)
BMM. No, that's an opinion. I haven't heard it repeated by experts, only SM "experts".

They said that procedure dictates which judge takes over. It depends on which case was filed first. Chad's judge is Steven Boyce. I think he has less experience in his current position than Lori's judge Dane Watkins, but he will be taking over if the cases are joined.

Thanks! I did a search on "Boyce" and found my old post... below cut/paste. Interesting that procedure dictates which judge takes over and it is the first case filed. Wish it was the more experienced one/Lori's judge/his boss. But game on!

"Lori Vallow’s case officially moves to district court. Her arraignment is set for 8/27 at 1:30PM in front of Judge Dane H. Watkins Jr.

Dane Watkins, Jr. is a District Judge in the Seventh Judicial District. Judge Watkins has presided over civil and criminal jury and court trials since 2011. Prior to his judgeship, he served for nine years as the elected Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney.

2019 Fall Seminar Speaker Spotlight: Judge Dane Watkins - ITLA FYI

ETA: Oh, that's Lori's... lemme grab Chads' info... brb

Justin Lum @jlumfox10
Chad Daybell appears in front of Judge Boyce on 8/21 in District Court to face charges of concealment, destruction & alteration of evidence. Also two counts of conspiracy to do those crimes. Steven Boyce was a Bonneville Co. Magistrate Judge before Gov. Brad Little appointed him to be district judge in 7th Judicial District Court in May 2019."

Agree, you are correct. I should have stated it is a fact that she lied and CAN be impeached vs. my statement that it is a fact that she will be easily impeached because of her lies. I still think that is a big factor in Prior wanting the transcripts to do such. MOO

Thanks for correcting my over reach when I stated (over 60 minutes so I cannot correct now..)

Can you link please? I’m not sure who “they” are and I’ve been curious about this.

Are you referring to the fact that MG initially lied to police about having JJ? She openly admitted to that in court. There's an explanation for it (IMO). Or is it someting else?

Just want to say that JJ Vallow's death (getting wrapped and bound in layers upon layers of duct tape and then suffocated) is a woman's move, in my opinion. If Alex was Lori's grim reaper, he could have handled it in a much simpler manner like knocking him out with a single punch and whatever follow-up action he felt he "needed" to take. D-bag. But that's not what happened. We all know that he was over-restrained and then suffocated. That's the act of an enraged, manic woman. I don't mean manic in a clinical sense, either. As for Tylee, it's less clear. I tend to believe that Lori did it (how, I don't know obviously) and she either called Alex or ran over to his apartment and told him what happened, and then he walked to her apartment to assess the situation and plan how to dispose of his niece's body. I hate them.

Have the children's bodies been released to family members yet? I'm assuming "no" because I haven't seen any updates. If that's the case, the ME has had their remains for 3 months now.

The sleeve width near the table is more than her arm IMO. Maybe it's her favorite color. We'll see what she wears in front of the jury. From what I read, blue is one of the recommended colors to wear in court.

I thought he was there in person for her first hearing in Rexburg. Lori just told him she didn't notice him in the crowded courtroom. On the Zoom hearing he and his wife probably weren't meant to be on camera.

He was there in Rexburg. Here's what I wonder about:

Oh Colby, I didn't see you sitting on the prosecution side.
Colby, I didn't see you right up front.
Colby, I didn't see you sitting with Kay and Larry.

I'm thinking she saw him. :) JMO

Yeah, "so many people"... pull the other one, Lori.

Or, maybe she was trying so hard to avoid Kay and Larry that she didn't see any of them. It's... vaguely possible.

If Lori called Alex or ran over to his apartment, he assess the situation and planned at that point how to dispose of JJ’s body, he returned to the townhouse in the early morning hours. How in hell didn’t Lori‘s niece and her boyfriend after going to bed not hear sounds in the townhouse. I’m a light sleeper I would’ve gotten up out of bed and investigated sounds that didn’t seem right. Duct tape has a loud sound when removing it from the roll. The sound of someone using duct tape should’ve woken up someone in a dead sleep.

Yes, that is one. She admitted she lied in court.. therefore I said earlier she can easily be impeached. As someone upstream stated, and I missed... the attorney would have to point that out for it to happen for her to be impeached at trial. So MOO on impeach potential *cough* and fact she did lie.

My comment was just that MOO, she can easily be impeached.

Yes, that is one. She admitted she lied to law enforcement, in court.

Therefore I said earlier she can easily be impeached. And I stated as a fact. But another poster correctly pointed out that this would have to be brought up by atty in court...during an in limine (my guess this will happen prior to trial) or in front of the jury.

But I digress.

No, we don't know that... that he was over-restrained and then suffocated. That has not been stated anywhere. MOO

The first one, sitting right next to Kay and Larry... yep. I was just quoting what Lori said. Perhaps a jab?

It was the morning of September 9, 2019, when Alex's phone pinged back and forth between his apartment and Lori's, so we are speaking of Tylee's last day here, not JJ's. This was not the weekend that Lori's friend (not niece) Melanie Gibb and her boyfriend stayed at Lori's apartment.

But that does raise an interesting question that I don't believe we have an answer for. Shouldn't there be Alex's cell phone evidence regarding JJ's last day as well?
