...I'm not sure that I have overstepped with my examples and my opinion of the mood and climate here with regard to religious beliefs. I was answering to what I felt potential jurors would consider as part of their decision in such a case.
Very Respectfully Snipped By Me

Thank you so much for your recent posts regarding the potential jurors in your area, they are very interesting and insightful.

I keep reading, not from you but summarizing many posts over many months, that CD's views are outside the bounds of the mainstream and he and LVD would not be received well by a local jury. What I keep thinking is there isn't really a distinct line but more of a spectrum of beliefs between mainstream anything and what CD is/was preaching. Maybe because of faith or views of government bounds or whatever.

This part of your post is exactly what I have been thinking but I could not have stated it as succinctly as you did:

I fear that there's enough local feeling of that independence plus faith mixed with reliance on divine intervention that a change of venue might be a good thing.

RexburghSleuth, CuriousQuiet1 and montegrl - Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply to my questions so fully. I am now much better informed, and have learned a lot. And indeed a change of venue may be a good thing. Does anyone know how likely that is to happen, and if so, when will we know?

RSBM ...And indeed a change of venue may be a good thing. Does anyone know how likely that is to happen, and if so, when will we know?

The hearing for the motions on change of venue is currently scheduled for November 24th. Not sure of how long after it will be decided and if an additional follow-up would be required after that day and resulting judges decision.

(October 29th is the hearing for motion to dismiss and joinder motion/objections)

MOO Those are dates I have on my calendar.

Thanks for letting us know. I am setting my DVR to make sure I dont miss it. I could use the refresher to better understand all the interconnected people.

"The hour-long program will include interviews with Colby Ryan, Lori’s oldest son, and Annie Cushing, Tylee Ryan’s aunt. Law enforcement experts and EastIdahoNews.com reporter Nate Eaton were also interviewed for the show. Producers have been working on the episode since February."

" “After devout, LDS mother Lori Vallow encounters a doomsday author, she descends down a path of darkness into a dangerous cult. The result is a trail of broken lives and dead bodies – including two of Vallow’s own children,” a description of the program says. "

I'm watching Oxygen right now. I wonder how Tylee's aunt feels about Nancy Grace stating as fact that Joe Ryan was physically abusive to Lori. I think an 'allegedly' was called for given the source and that the man is dead.

She has expressed before she doesn’t like that and rarely will ever address that stuff anymore. Not entirely surprising, and I hope no ones gives me grief for mentioning this, but there seems to be multiple reasons that the grandparents and other remaining family do not get along with the Aunt at all. Kay has mentioned before the friction between them and even once expressed that she pleaded that the aunt wait until we had official word from any law enforcement officials (RE: discovery of the remains of JJ & Tylee) before mentioning it online. Unfortunately that didn’t happen & seemed to escalate tensions even further. Such a sad and tragic story filled with so much pain for all of the family members.
And I personally don’t always appreciate the tone & rhetoric NG uses, but so far this episode seems a bit toned down from other times I’ve heard her, which I appreciate. Just MOO. Thank you

So many details I can’t keep track but this episode reminded me that when Colby called and asked Lori what the heck was going on & where the kids are, all she said was something to the effect of “I’ll take care of it”. Then, increasingly concerned with her lack of information and communication, he calls her again the next morning, only to see that she had disconnected that phone number. Wow.

"I'll take care of it. Love you. Bye." The momster has spoken. :(

I’m very curious (and appreciative) of other’s opinions on details like this. What do you think, do people like Lori genuinely believe that JJ & Tylee did turn into zombies or is this more of just the belief they use as justification of their actions to others? I flip-flop between which I think, sometimes I think Lori genuinely believed that but other times I think she’s just pure evil and that was more of the facade to present to others while she just wanted to rid herself of the children.

I think she wanted to be rid of her children and her husband, CV. And absolutely used any means to be rid of them. Jmo

To have an important decision made the day before the court goes on recess for Thanksgiving? Is it the prosecution or the defense that set up that schedule? Somebody did that on purpose to tweak the other attorneys.

I don’t think she believed it for a second - it was merely justification for moving on again(!) and not having CV or her kids in her life, as well as making other sheeple believe she was special. Lori wants everyone to think she is special, just like she already does!

I don’t think CD believes his BS either - in his case, he used it to manipulate his family and as some weird pickup line to try and get his female followers to have an affair with him. I think with Lori he got himself in way too deep.

When someone turns it on and off, depending on the audience and circumstances, I vote evil. No doubt at all in my mind.

She is a very conniving, purposefully uses "charm", and very intelligent and SCARY type evil.. like Ted Bundy MOO.

Especially with a history and "taste" of the blood spilled and she continues to escalate.

The astounding differences in the videos of her in the police station and coming back after Charles was killed and her statements/smiling/"not a care in the world attitude" (especially no comforting to Tylee that her father has just been killed!!!!! at that time) is exemplary of such MOO.

Those videos do not jive with her always thinking zombies.. which would be expected at the very minimum when she was at the police station with MG and Tylee, in an exited state especially. If she really thought zombie Charles (and others) it would MOO be expected (by me, and anyone else with critical and logical thinking MOO) that this would be exclaimed to the police. "He is a zombie" or at least to something of the sort. But nope, she just mentions that she found something on his phone etc., I am a victim.

To me, that in of itself seals the deal she is evil even without the other 90% of what I have read as to her being evil.

All MOO

@Niner, thanks for the additional dates for us. Have I missed a change/deletion? Does your calendar not have the inclusion for hearing for "motion for joinder" on the 29th of October as I have on mine?

You are THE BEST for keeping track of so so so very many cases for all of us. I cannot comprehend the database that you use to do such for so many of us. Especially those that are so close that we don't want to miss anything from older cases. I now, when I enter WS, have learned when I log onto followed cases is to look to the RIGHT side when I wake up to see if the latest post is from @Niner ! I've missed some hearings and trials previously.. but now I know to look for such each day as you are the keeper of the data.

Thanks for all that you do!
