"The Doomsday Couple" LOL! Seriously, if Means wants every single thing that the prosecution has against LVD, video, emails, on and on...that would literally be hours of potential video, and 1000's of pages of evidence. The file dump would be more than he could even manage.

After all, the State of Idaho has had teams of FBI agents, police officers, multi-jurisdictional agencies, task forces, lots of moving pieces and parts that put this case together. And Means wants it all. Okay, Buddy, here it is...

He wouldn't even know where to start.

I do think she was in touch with him earlier but in listening to this, it seems that this would not be something he would teach. From what we know about CD telling TD what to do, I do not think he would build up a female to want to be powerful and equal to him. This audio really put her in a different light to me. I could see why CV would be alarmed. If my spouse was talking about being a warrior and not being innocent and so on.
BBM. In early 2019 Chad sent Lori a letter with 7 goals to accomplish together (lead the 144k, etc.). He didn't treat Lori the same way as Tammy.

IMO Charles might not have known about Lori's "mission" at the time of the recording (October 2018) because he wasn't part of the fringe group.

Hey @Tortoise - just wondering if there is any "new" court dates for these 2 - since they have combined the cases? I have CD has having next hearing on 11/24.

TIA!

Did Lori ever try to bring Charles into this mess? Because we know she tried with Tylee's aunt, correct?

Nothing yet Niner. The Order for Joinder (joining the cases) was filed yesterday but nothing yet as regards whose hearings or judge is to take precedence.

Presuming it will be Chad's since his judge made the order?

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the FBI’s involvement. The Bureau doesn’t roll for every missing kid, even white ones. But there’s precedent for Mormon end-times splinter groups to commit acts of terrorism. Google “Ervil LeBaron” and “The Four O’Clock Murders.” I think the FBI had received rumors that PAP and its fellow travelers were stockpiling guns and ammo, and maybe at some point somebody in the mainstream Church was/felt threatened, possibly a spouse who came forward with something like “my husband joined a freaky survivalist militia group!” The original attraction for Bureau was an opportunity to research and question lots of potential members while looking for the mysterious couple that were supposedly sheltering Tylee and JJ. Of course, the deeper they got into the case the more the agents came to care for the missing children. When it became likely they were dead, the agents weren’t gonna back off just because the case was a nonstarter as far as domestic terrorism.

BBM. How come that there have been no arrests for weapon-related offenses? The PAP crowd seems to be worried about excommunication, not being busted for stockpiling guns.

Believe me, no one gets arrested for stockpiling guns and ammo in the United States. It doesn't even merit a review by ATF, as if that isn't scary enough. Sure, you want 100 guns, and 10,000 rounds of ammo? Let's do a quick background check, did you want to pay cash or credit?

Where I live, it is not uncommon for people to have 10 or more guns in their home for "personal use".

just wondering if you have some outside reading that supports your thinking. My guess is that even if you do, it can not be posted here, but it is an interesting concern. Anything else you can provide that is still within TOS??? thanks

Actually, it’s not unusual for the FBI to show up quickly , particularly in smaller towns with limited resources. They were on scene in the Watts investigation within 48 hours and involved in Susan Morphew’s disappearance before the week was over.

That’s not to say in Vallow’s case they weren’t also there because of militia fears. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t on their minds very soon into the investigation.

It's pretty hard to commit a weapons offense in Idaho: Gun laws in Idaho - Wikipedia

A more likely scenario is that some relative or associate of a member of a splinter group heard or saw chatter about what the group intended to do with their guns, became alarmed, and alerted the FBI.

I'm just guessing but with Rexburg being a small town where everyone knows everyone. If local militia or splinter groups were around and a concern, I'd say that LE would have known about them.

Earlier in the case, leads came from several other states and there was the extradition from Hawaii. At the time it was thought that the investigation would include Yellowstone National Park and that's one vast place. With limited local resources and the scope of this case, perhaps it became a situation where LE requested the FBI, along with their vast resources, to assist.

Audio recording captures Lori Daybell saying she 'was going to murder' her third husband - East Idaho News

REXBURG — Newly released audio of Lori Vallow Daybell appears to show her justifying the concept of murder using verses of religious scriptures.

The recording came from October 2018 and was shared with EastIdahoNews.com by Annie Cushing, the sister of Daybell’s third ex-husband, Joseph Ryan. The statements about murder were referring to Ryan, who died of an apparent heart attack several months before the recording.

"I would go through the scriptures and find all the things,” Daybell said. “If he comes against you once, if he comes against you twice, if he comes against you three times, then you can kill him. It says it in the scriptures.”

Now it's out in the open.

I think the area of concern was and is larger than just Rexburg, but that is pure speculation on my part. And your suggestion is more than plausible, and it does not necessarily have to be either/or.

Sure the FBI often helps smaller jurisdictions. But with no proof of a crime at first? A dozen agents and a mobile HQ? More agents later? Ultimately as many as two dozen? The FBI doesn't deploy that many agents for most Mob killings.
I’m glad they turned out in strength. We might still not know the children’s otherwise. But have never mobilized like that missing kids in Florida. I heard an FDLE employee say that. Everyone over there was startled, to say the least.

I'm not surprised with FBI being involved. I think local LE suspect something really strange was going on with Tylee and Joshua very early on.

That LE showed up the night before they were leaving the town and packing up... leads me to that also.

As LE and we and others may say... that is no coincidence. Some knew they were planing on leaving. MOO

I think it was said in court that they were under intermittent surveillance by Rexburg det. Hermosillo due to BB's case.
