I agree. Joe died alone and Charles died just trying to be a normal father, trying to pick up his son and take him to school.

Some are transcription errors, increased by early scanning & machine reading of documents
Some are transcription errors by tired humans -- when one reads numerous census transcriptions, for example, one can tell how many pages an enumerator or transcriber can go before the information is difficult to extract.
Some are other sorts of errors by humans

I think what bothers me most is when people borrow from some trees to add to others. So so many times, I have seen birth/death dates to be totally incongruous to the tree they are attached. That is what I mean by such obvious errors. My family trees are some of those!!! The dates show the impossibility and yet people still attach that data to a given tree.

Charles was highly complicit in the terrible treatment of Lori against Joe Ryan. They "escaped" to Hawaii to avoid the court granted rights of Joe. I agree he was totally screwed by Lori and Alex, but he is not as good to me, because of the treatment of Joe. Lori had a way of turning potentially decent men into evil ones.....

I think that Lori fed Charles a bunch of lies about the children being molested by Joe. She even brainwashed the kids into believing that Joe did this, which I don't believe he did.

Charles was under the spell of Lori, like so many that had the misfortune of crossing her path. We have seen the damage she has left in her wake.

I believe that Joe, Charles, Tammy, J.J., Tylee and Alex would all be alive if not for Lori.

Yes - I know that some have been deemed natural deaths; however, I still don't believe it.

Yes - I know that Chad is a grown man who made the choice of getting rid of his faithful and loving wife, Tammy. However, I think frumpy Chad was under the spell of the beautiful high school cheerleader that he always wanted and was now within his reach (Lori).

I believe that her friend, Melanie, was even drawn into her drama; and that's why she initially lied to police. Thank goodness, she snapped out of it. I feel that she would have been set up if she hadn't.

So, in short, I have to give Charles a break. He was drawn in with Lori's lies. When his eyes were opened, nobody believed him. Then, when he was murdered, Alex and Lori got away with it. That allowed the murders to continue. Very, very tragic...

All for the love of money...IMO...

I saw one where the "poison" was nicotine. Another where it was oleander. All for money. I don't get it. I mean, even if I were to get away with it, I could never live a day in peace knowing that I murdered someone.

Absolutely! In part of my family, someone mixed up the sisters -- and published their mix-up in a "complete guide to local history." Whoops. Another researcher asked me why I thought my ggg-grandmother had married a "much older man" at age 14. Well, I emailed that person my scan of the marriage license of Sister #1 to that "much older man." Said GGG-grandmother was actually married at 19 3/4. The wedding was performed by the "much older man," a Methodist minister.

Most errors are introduced innocently by people who live close to the hard-to-find records.

Maybe Websleuths needs a Genealogy section, for those of us who love this material and live to search for information within the mass of historical data?

I often just try--just try to think about what goes through Lori's or Chad's head, day after day after day........... Do you think there is any remorse ever? Remember we knew this culty group was totally convinced with the massive Utah catastrophes? Do you think they are still living with future apocalypse dates???

I am going to sound crazy, but oh well. Nothing new there. Anyway, I was just watching a video on fb that was posted to a group for Alexis Sharkey and I think it could apply here. The video was about how injecting potassium into someone can cause cardiac arrest in minutes. I have not researched this, but the video explains how quickly an overdose of potassium can kill a person and the injection site would be so small that it most likely wouldn't be noticed AND by the time an autopsy is done, potassium levels would have returned to normal. Jmo
