MOO. I think most of us doubt the excommunication claim. I know I do. And as you say, there is no way that happened while he was still acting in that calling.

That doesn't mean excommunication is isn't coming if he ever shows up, but I doubt it has happened already. I don't think any source other than the Daily Mail is reporting it (unless others say "according to the Daily Mail") and they aren't the most believable source.

The other "cult" possibility might be AVOW (another end times group he was said to be in). One of these has a special forum on their website that had a cost to it with an additional cost to get into a sub-forum that Chad ran. I think this might be what is being called or perceived as a cult.

Absolutely. I'm familiar with AVOW and some on there are 'cult like' (I hope I can say this.) in their thinking and their zealousness toward end time doomsday prepping. I believe this is what the extended family was referring to, as far as what they felt were the dangerous religious group Lori had joined and Chad was already involved with. MOO.

I remember reading what you're describing somewhere, but I'm not sure if it was on the page you linked. Could it have maybe been on a page on the publishing company site? The reason I'm asking is that (a) that site is down and has been for at least a day or two and (b) it seems strange that if someone was going to edit that page it would still mention his wife Tammy, but just less.

You’re right, it was somewhere else (but still on his site), I just found it thanks to the media thread. This talks about Chad convincing Tammy to move to Rexburg

Oh yeah, that blog post. I'd seen that. It also has the picture of him and Tammy that Heavy.com and (I think others) have used/stolen. I recognized where it was immediately. It's one of my favorite places (Upper Mesa Falls, 20-30 miles north of Rexburg).

Edit: I realized that the picture on that blog post is not the one that Heavy.com is using, but it is in the same place.

Idle Musings - Both Lori and Chad were born into the LDS Church. So were any of their siblings....... Was the now late Alex (Lori's brother) also an "endtimer" like Chad, Lori, and Melani ?... Could Alex have been a willing "Avenging Angel/Porter Rockwell " type for this newer "Underground LDS Related Endtimers" group ? that took care of their "enemies"?...moo

It's likely if they were born in the church, their siblings were too, not a guarantee, but likely. That creepy brother of hers, Alex was probably also, but here in Utah, there are tons of people who were members at one time and not active, or come from LDS stock but never practiced the religion. They don't consider themselves LDS and don't practice the religion. Also, some of these types later become active. I can see where you are going with the Porter Rockwell reference, but unless we know that Alex was active LDS and was involved with Chad Daybell's end times views, I don't think that as his motivation. I think it's more likely, he did what would help Lori, in her personal life and he seems to have no qualms. I remember many pages ago, someone said he had a criminal record, but never saw any proof of it. If Alex was the one who shot at Brandon B, and we know he killed Charles, we know he attacked her third husband outside a courthouse hearing about custody for Tylee. This sounds to me like he was doing dirty work for Lori. MOO.

Well in my digging around on the internet (not sleuthing anyone in particular, just the group as a whole) the claims these people have made have had a profound impact on susceptible/vulnerable people. Families that have uprooted their whole lives to move to “places of safety”, families going into debt to buy three years of food storage and other prepping gear, career damage, family strain, causing untold fear in the hearts of those who genuinely believe the “end is imminent”. One mans wife ending up hospitalized due to psychological trauma. These people are not harmless, and they are having a very real (negative) impact on lives. MOO

This is an interesting theory that I could see ...add in a touch of LDS teachings and end of times and maybe old folklore and this works

Tylee's father died in 2018. Apparently body wasn't discovered for 3 weeks. The body was then cremated. I don't know if any sort of autopsy was done, but it was declared a heart attack. I wonder how Tylee reacted to her father's death? She seemed to have lost contact with even her best friend around that time.

Well... Tylee couldn't really react to Joseph Ryan's death in 2018 because, according to her mother Lori, Tylee had already been dead for a year or so when her father Joseph died.

What about Colby Ryan? What was his reaction when Joseph Ryan passed away? Though Colby shares the Ryan surname with Tylee, he was not Joseph Ryan's biological son. So Colby and Tylee are half-siblings. I think. Maybe? ......moo.....

Of all the people who have died in this story, Alex' autopsy should be the easiest because he was autopsied right away and I am assuming they did collect his blood/fluids to test for drugs/poisons.
So what happened to cause Alex' death? I hope we soon find out.

Yes. Did the hunter become the hunted...

Maybe I’m dreaming, but I’m positive the “About Chad” section of his website has been edited recently. When I first heard of this case it was one of the first things I read, and my memory of it is that it was quite long, talked about his wife Tammy, the books they had published together for primary children, and even mentioned him convincing her to move to Rexburg due to his “visions”. Anyone else remember?

Here is Tylee Ryan's Youtube channel. (Took forever to find!)

I don't see an uploaded home videos, but she has playlists. Some songs in the Driving w/Tylee playlist are from 2018.

Thanks. The first song on that playlist starts with words "help me."

That is true, and a reason why members of the LDS church were cautioned against groups and organizations who claim special visions and secret knowledge of future events among other types who can mislead. No group was singled out but the message was clear, what Daybell and some of his associates were peddling were part of the reason for the caution.

The Trek Continues!

A very important message for the community it seems.

I should add too, I found quite a few posts from back to 2014 describing Chad Daybell specifically as “shady”.

But doesn't that description fit most religions, including the one doing the warning? MOO
