This article is a bit confusing, but I’ve been wondering about the period of 6 weeks Alex Cox left his garage door open. Is this maybe this fall? Until he came back and moved into his new wife’s house, where his body was found? So maybe Alex went to Arizona after moving to Rexburg and then left in haste (leaving his garage door up) and finally came back in December? To grab his stuff and move in with new wife? MOO

Self said that at one point Cox was away from the four-bedroom single story home for some six weeks — and left the garage door open for the entire time.

'It's a good job we are a quiet law-abiding community because he had a lot of stuff in there and none of it got stolen.'

When he returned to the home — which is now empty and up for rent — he moved everything out of the garage so he could fit the truck in. 'I think he just wanted to get straight into the house without having to see any of his neighbors,' said Self.

I've decided that anything I see the Daily Mail say that isn't reported elsewhere is an error or made up. Initially that was based on some errors they made on this case, but then I went to this site that I've found to be a good indication of what to expect from sites claiming to be reporting news and found that they, with much more input than I have had, agreed with my impression.

I can respect that. I'm actually in a few different places with what may be going in here tbh. Including maybe a couple of cases intertwining. At any rate and above all, I just hope that they find JJ & Tylee alive.

I think the reason is JJ had a bunch of relatives such as grandparents, biological parents, Charles's siblings, etc, who were concerned about him. While Tylee's father was dead. If her father were still alive, I am sure he would have been concerned, but we as we all know he died of supposed heart attack.

She has an aunt that's been active on FB groups, but it kind of seems as if she came out of the woodwork. MOO

I think the people who believe the conspiracy theory of the government trafficking children, are not the most reasonable people, and are probably susceptible to many other ideas that are not reasonable. That is why it is so difficult to change their minds, when someone tries to explain things in a reasonable manner. MOO

Honestly this is why the case is so difficult. LE is dealing with quite a few people with unreasonable beliefs.MOO so much MOO

No doubt they're doing this in the basement of a pizza parlor.

Tylee had been their "stepfamily" since she was what, 4? How did Charles family seem to have no relationship with her? This in reference to LE discovering "oh Tylee" after a welfare check on JJ.

I'm dumbfounded. I've been divorced from my daughter's dad for 25 years. I'm still in touch with my step kids yes 25 years later. Am I that unique? They're still in contact with my mom, their grandmother. This is why I question things. I assume my family ties are normal lol.

I think what you're describing in your own situation depends on a lot of factors including what kind of relation you and the stepkids want with each other, their ages when you were involved with their parent, how much your ex and other parental figures want you involved, etc. I'm in much the same position as you and have some (but not a ton) of contact with my step daughter 25 years later. Certainly more contact with her than with her Mom.

However, I think there is a lot at work in the Vallow's actions here. They may not have felt like they had a right or could justify asking about Tylee, whereas they could in JJ's case. Tylee is older (better able to defend herself) and doesn't have the special needs that JJ does either. It feels to me like maybe they asked for the welfare check on JJ, then when the response they got back is "we're kind of concerned" they said "Did you see Tylee" and got the response "who is Tylee." That fits the initial facts that were released when this hit the news. I'll also point out that everything I've seen regarding the reward Kay and Larry have put up mentions both kids.

JJ is autistic, special needs child, who is not biologically related to Lori. While Tylee was almost an adult and a biological daughter of Lori. It makes sense that Charles' relatives would be more concerned about JJ.

I don’t think this has anything to do with custody either. Her actions don’t show that she’s a stable, capable, and loving parent who wants to be with her kids. They’re not with her and they wouldn’t be in danger with the Vallows anyway. Why go to such extremes to keep them?

I did notice in the press conference when KV was asked about CV’s relationship with Tyler she shrugged and said Tyler was a typical teen. Does that mean they didn’t get along? She rejected him? Wasn’t interested in him being a father figure? I don’t know.

Local doesn't mean they get the facts right though. (And local to where, AZ or ID?) For example, the Daily Mail is the first (only?) "news source" to say that Chad had been excommunicated from the Mormon church, but there is pretty much no way that could be true based on the facts we know. They're on par with the National Enquirer.

The money issue (Charles Vallow's money) is probably the current favorite with Chad and Lori's apologists. Charles Vallow's sister refused to discuss details in the last media interview.

I have to admit to being baffled still by the ongoing different narratives between the parties in this sad case.

LE says there is 'no custody' dispute.

LE so far as I have seen has not said that this isn't a 'money issue' where people don't agree and a child is locked between 2 different sides.

The woman (who shall remain nameless but sees 'through the veil' and has 'multiple gifts' and does podcasts only in cars) says that there is a custody issue present and seems to throw shade at the relatives of JJ and also at youtube video brother of Tylee. This woman also makes reference to the fact that the core issue in dispute is NOT the children but the Charles Vallow money.

I'm not convinced that we have gotten a straight story from anyone involved here yet.

The lack of assistance from the Daybell family is baffling and troubling to me as if this were a money dispute between parties then they don't have a 'dog in the fight'. I do wonder though whether any of them know whether perhaps CD was intimately involved with the possible murder of the 2 children and so they are doing what they can to protect their father and are simply waiting for charges to be filed.

Just sharing the article (in link) I thought we were discussing. The writer is from the San Tan Valley. My research says that’s a pretty interesting place to be located and a great potential for sleuthing. He used a neighbors name, I’m willing to bet that part of the article is accurate. Personally, I’d kinda like to tag along with that writer for a week and research.

Hi all, it's been a good bit since I've checked Websleuths. What was initially feeling under the weather turned into being bed-ridden for a week (today is day 8 of being sick), so I'm pretty far behind right now. Page 49/61 on thread #4 as of writing.
