Tammy's school had no school starting September 30th per Sugar/Salem school district calendar. And in fact my interpretation is it wouldn't have included the part of Fremont County where Chad lived either, even though not really pertinent. North Fremont is a high school in Ashton, about 25-30 miles north of Rexburg. My interpretation is this is talking about that high school and possibly the schools that feed into it.
There is another high school (I think the only other one) in Fremont County, cleverly known as South Fremont. It is located in St. Anthony which is about 15 miles north of Rexburg.
There is also a Sugar City/Salem school district which includes the school where Tammy was the librarian. I'm not positive where the kids in the Daybell's neighborhood would go since they're considered in Salem, but also are in Fremont County, but I'm guessing the school district for Salem/Sugar City is partly Madison and partly Fremont county.
Thanks! And Tammy worked at Central Elementary according to her Obituary, which is also not in Fremont?
I am not sure what emancipated would even mean in this situation, since she lived with mama and had no job as far as I can tell.I remember earlier we discussed whether Tyee was emancipated--did we ever confirm that for sure? I searched and found some strong hints.
But all kids are out of school during this time? Like a fall break?

Good point.
I'm wondering whether she might have gone with them to Hawaii and just not come back. "I got a job squeezing juice for the tourists and I'm just going to stay here where it's warm and nice and I don't have to deal with you." (quote is my speculation)
It might be completely unrelated, but I'm going to add the spud harvest schedules to the timeline. This is what I have (please correct if I got anything incorrect or mixed up):
26 Sept 2019 thru 7 Oct 2019 - Madison School District, where JJ was previously enrolled, is closed for the spud harvest break. Spud Harvest moved up a week for North Fremont students
30 Sept 2019 thru 11 Oct 2019 – The Sugar-Salem School District, where Tammy works as librarian is closed for spud harvest break. Calendars
He turned seven, correct? In the LDS church, kids that die before the age of eight go straight to the highest heaven. I don't know if that played any part in Lori's thinking.
Yes, absolutely add. My dad farms on the Rexburg bench and another area called Hamer Idaho . If you are involved in harvest at any level it kinda messes up everyone’s schedules (teenagers) driving truck or sorting to all the Mom’s involved .. all the little kids are out of school. It would be an easy time to lose track of appointments or movement of anyone in the area.
JR speaking on #006 min 12:50 "The last time I talked with Chad was three weeks before Tammy died. She was going to be home. The kids were going to be home for potato harvest. And he said he would contact me after potato harvest. He sent me a text the Tuesday before Tammy died." I don't know why I'm fixated on this, but I just feel like for some reason potato harvest is significant, but maybe its just a point of reference, since its such a part of the community. MOO

Let's suppose that Chad and Lori were having an affair as CV suspected. Suddenly Lori is living in Rexburg so close to Chad but she can only see him when JJ is in school and Tammy is working (I'm also assuming Tylee was off doing her own thing or not there anymore by Sept 23). Chad is working as a sales executive for Falls Printing according to his LinkedIn.
We don't know Chad's work schedule but if he went to Idaho Falls to work then his daily commute would take him right past Lori's home: Google Maps
If there is any free time, even say an hour or two when Chad isn't at work, Tammy IS at work and JJ is in school then Lori and Chad could have been seeing each other secretly during that free time. But harvest time vacation would really put a damper on their affair. Suddenly JJ's going to be home for close to two weeks and so is Tammy. Maybe Lori really did consider sending JJ to his grandma's and he overheard her talking about it? But maybe plans changed for some reason Sept 23/24th? It seems pointless to me to bother unenrolling a child for homeschool purposes 2 days before the school district is going on a break. But, whatever, I don't believe Lori had any intention of homeschooling him.
On Chad's end of things he would have difficulty trying to see Lori during harvest time because Tammy would be at home. She would probably be expecting to spend some time with him or at least know his work schedule and notice if he was gone for extra time. From Sept 26th to Oct 11th (the period covering both relevant school district harvest breaks) either Lori or Chad would have difficulty seeing each other and not getting caught. Maybe this was another reason Chad told Tammy to visit her parents during the break? Perhaps it was not only because he was having visions Tammy was going to die soon but perhaps he wanted desperately to see his mistress?
MOO.
MOO.
Some interesting thoughts here. Definitely would be a juggle for Chad to sneak in visits with Lori, especially if he needed to do that when Tammy was at work and JJ at school. It's going to be an hour to an hour and a half round trip from Rexburg to IF, so Tammy sneaking down for an hour at Chad's lunch time might work, but wouldn't be great. But really would it matter whether Tammy was at work/school or not, as long as she viewed Chad as being at work? Yes, Tammy visiting her parents gives Chad a lot more flexibility and less risk (what if Lori is on her way and Tammy surprises Chad at lunch time?). I would think JJ could maybe visit Melanie (or whoever it is living in the same complex) if Chad could sneak out of work a bit early to swing by Lori's on the way home. I think what it comes down to is that if they wanted to spend time with each other it was going to be a juggling act regardless of whether school was in session or not.
While I think it represents great sleuthing and outside-the-box thinking, and that it is an interesting piece of information for all of us to consider as to how it may or may not be significant in the missing children investigation, I don't understand how the dates of the potato harvest could be important. Maybe I'm missing something. If so, please help me understand.
Is the thinking that perhaps AC (and/or Lori and/or CD) used the confusion or irregularity of the potato harvest week to somehow sneak out of town with the kids (i.e. that things would've been too "normal" to do so on say 9/24 or 9/25)? Idk.. maybe it WOULD have been easier between 9/27 and 10/5 to hide them at some local farm or prepper location than during a regular work day. Maybe they used a potato harvest vehicle of some sort in order to transport them. There's something I'm not getting.
I just don't think Lori and or A/C and/or CD planned the disappearance of the children around potato harvest week. To me, they and the children might've actually been more noticeable and more conspicuous during potato harvest week than they would've been during a regular week, as more people were probably out and about, but idk). Does the week have religious, LDS, or AVOW significance?
I'm just not sure I get the significance of JR saying that she talked with CD a few weeks before and understood that the Daybell's were all planning to be home during potato harvest week, as I know of no case related events/incidents involving the Daybell's that occurred during that time. Again, maybe I'm unaware of some facts. Please let me know if that's the case.
The closest event that I can think of is maybe that of TD, at CD's suggestion, going to visit her parents around the end of the first week in Oct., but what would potato harvest have to do with that? And the paintball incident I think occurred on 10/9 - after potato harvest. Just wondering what I'm missing.
