Finding no signs of trauma is not the same as finding evidence of arterial sclerosis which is what the autopsy found in JR case. To find poisons, I believe they would have to know what poison to test for in the first place but MOO. At least JR had an autopsy done, unlike Tammy. I believe that is why medicines were taken in the search warrant at the Daybell home, to have an idea what to test for.
All I see described is an external examination of the body. Where is actual autopsy? No description of organs. How much did the heart weight? Seems like they assumed he died from heart disease based on his medical history, and that's about it.

They didn't find any evidence of arterial sclerosis. The document says he had a history of arterial sclerosis. I don't think they even looked. There is no description of organs, specifically the heart. His autopsy seems to have been an external examination of the body.

That's how I read it, too. Honestly, I'm not surprised. He was young"ish" but overweight. His medical records indicated heart related issues (2). He was found in/on bed. I'm betting it didn't call for an actual full on autopsy. Hindsight, of course. Jmo

He was barely overweight. His BMI was 25. That is the lowest value at which someone is considered overweight.

I ageee- found that odd . He weighed 180 and was over 6’.

The findings mention arterioschlerotic cardiovascular disease. They took a liver tissue sample also, so they could not have done that with just an external examination. The report also states the cause could change if new info comes to light.

I think they found the body in bed, looked it over, decided it was due to heart disease (since he had a history of atherosclerosis) and that was it. It doesn't look like he had an actual autopsy, just an external examination of the body.

History of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. They didn't find it. Presumably he was diagnosed while alive. My cat had an autopsy with much more details than this guy, and my cat for sure died of natural causes. Actual autopsy describes internal organs, and what they look like. Also my cat had his heart weight given in the autopsy. We seen none of this here.

I have a few questions...I am curious about who Tammy was. In her obituary it says she was a Young Womens President and Stake Young Women's Camp Director. What is the feeling in the Ward about what is taking place? (She would have been working directly with girls 12-18 in the area if this was her calling (job in the ward) at the time she died. I kinda wonder if the "paintball gun'" incident was down played as a prank because she had been with the Youth Programs and had kids this age. Also, what about her friends? Do they look back and see a weird marriage?

Didn't you have to request an autopsy for your cat?

I doubt anyone requested one for JR past a cursory if it walks like a duck type of thing. Jmo

You think she is surviving in the woods for four months now?

I think this is a fascinating question. I don't think they are "in the woods." I think they are somewhere with a stable water supply, stockpiled food (or a constant grocery buyer). In short, some kind of compound or personal friend. They are very good at enthralling others and right now, some people may be regretting involvement with them. I hope. Someone knows something.

Yes, of course. Cat autopsies are not mandatory.
I also don't think anybody requested an autopsy for JR. So they just looked the body over, decided it was atherosclerotic disease based on his medical history, and that was the end of it.

It's called a post mortem report it says, so is that the same as autopsy? There are 4 findings by the ME. I guess no one cared enough to challenge the findings. His liver tissue sample could still be tested I guess after 11 years, if poisons are found in the other deaths.

Sorry about your cat's death. Why did you have an autopsy on your cat if it died of natural causes?

I wanted to know exactly why my cat died. I obviously knew it was natural causes but natural causes could be a lot of different causes.

Right, I think I'm just saying.. Lori wouldn't have been heart broken at the time if JR had actually died during the assault by AC. We have no idea what really happened to JR. I'm just speculating: If I wanted someone dead/hired someone to kill them, I would much rather them die of "natural causes" than a gun shot, especially if the person I hired was my brother. JR was cremated... if Tammy had been also we might not be talking so much about this case. MOO
And if this was how Lori felt then it is particularly evil to want your ex, the father of your children, dead. The method doesn't really matter in law, i don't think, but it would still have to be proved. Eg. With CV the self defence has seemingly been accepted but the investigation is still open. As you say, with the cremation of JR, not much can now be done unless the 11 year old tissue samples could be of use. MOO.

I think what is clear here is that Joseph didn't actually have an examination of internal organs. They did an external examination, and because of his medical history decided he died from heart disease. But it's a safe bet that there are a lot of people who are a lot more overweight with a many more meds in their cabinets who are alive and kicking.

The autopsy didn’t convince me he wasn’t poisoned. Given the condition of the body, I’d think it’s possible a poison that acted on the heart could be missed. Since he was cremated we’ll never know for sure.

I agree he still could have been poisoned. I'm not so sure we'll never know, however. The autopsy report says that the ME took extra samples of JR's thigh muscle and samples of the liver to store for toxicology. They may still have those samples in storage. I don't know how long samples are kept in non-suspicious deaths but in many John Doe/Jane Doe cases I have followed here those samples have often been kept in storage for decades. It's been just under 2 years since JR died. I hope that LE is able to run toxicology after all this time (it appears from the report that no toxicology was done but the muscle and liver were simply stored in case they had to do toxicology later). MOO.

Maricopa County has released the medical examiner report for Joseph Ryan, the father of Tylee Ryan. His death is not being connected to the current investigations into the kids’ disappearance, the death of Charles Vallow, the death of Tammy Daybell, or the death of Alex Cox.

Thank you for tagging me!

In regards to the bold-- I believe that is the reporter, Adam Herberts' own wording, not a quote from police, correct? Someone correct me if I'm mistaken. I have yet to see LE make a statement on Joseph Ryan's death. If JR's death is really not part of the current investigation then I think there is another suspicious death that happened before Tammy that we are not aware of yet.
MOO.
