A couple of observations...

It looks like she retained these attorneys on Jan 30th IIRC. Wasn't that the deadline to surrender the children to Idaho authorities?

Her 'fumbling' atty also noted that the recent trip to Maui was a "vacation" and that her atty made LE aware.

My heart dropped waiting for the judge to decide!!!! 10,000 dollars and two missing kids!!!! Those babies are worth more than 5 million each to those who care know and love them! Chad looks like he's deliberately frowning....I hope his face sticks that way! Lori really looked like she thought she was going to walk out of there. I am thinking that the whispers at the end was that her lawyer ahs a plan to help her post bail. I thought that she couldnt post bail til she got to Idaho. Hawaii court is nothing like Utah court!!!! Ugggg......god I hope these babies are alive and well!

Is it windy in jail? I imagine that’s where he’s going to be shortly...

I was observing that while she looked stressed she didn't look as angry as in her mug shot and was reasonably well put together for court, but obviously didn't have access to her curling iron. :)

Did I hear correctly, Lori's attorney says they can't get her out if the bail remains at $5 million? I hope so- so glad it was not reduced and she will be sitting in the clink. All I can say is Lori needs to start getting used to it, she is going to be there for a very long time.

Didn't I see a post saying her atty was some hotshot? I thought he was terrible.

Who is watching and consoling Chad's five children while he's frollicking on the beach waiting for the apocalypse? smh Lori's gonna find out real soon how committed Chad is.

I think we should call it Lori's "SMUG shot"

What do all the body language experts have to say about Lori's crossed arms?

That wasn't the attorney, de Costa, that was mentioned ahead of time, right? He mentioned de Costa by name a few times.

Wow- her attorney says she and Chad are residents, have a home and no reason to think they will leave? Really? Love the prosecutor setting them straight- they are renting a home and not residents. I wonder if that is why she had her church membership records sent to Hawaii- to claim residency?
They do not pay taxes, have jobs or ties to the community. Chad owns a home in Idaho where he is a resident. Do

Was it confirmed they had tickets to Mexico? Don't you need a passport?

That's a good question. I know there was a time when you didn't need a passport to go from the US to Canada or (to some degree) Mexico. (I don't remember the exact Mexico rule. I think the exception I'm thinking of might be driving a car rather than just crossing the border, but it limited how far across the border you could go.) For sure I crossed both those borders in the past with nothing but a drivers license.

But the requirements have definitely changed in the last 5-10 years. Now the requirement is for a passport or a passport card. The passport card will get you across the border on land into Canada, but I think you need the actual passport to fly into Canada. I think the rule is the same for Mexico, but not positive.

My guess is if that were true, the prosecution would have mentioned it.

This post from last thread was musing on Alex's motives for "helping" Lori. I can't help but wonder if Lori knew all about something Alex did in the past... something linked to when he used his dead sister's credit card *cough*... and kept his secret. So whenever she needed "help" he was willing to step up; both because she'd been loyal to him (creating a family-will-do-anything-for-each-other dynamic) and maybe out of self-preservation.
Definitely part of the overall picture...that unfortunately we are not really at liberty to discuss.......
But think about it ..his sister SCC was dead.. how long while he was spending on her cards???? Is this what LVD accused him of "disgracing the family".. I venture to guess that this death of the sister was old news when she yelled at Alex... so who knows what else Alex has done?

Did her lawyers basically run out of court at the end? Is that normal?

Not in their world apparently moo - I think you can get an I.D just for Canada and Mexico though which is different
