its what we all wished for with Devonte and Hannah too. but no, odds are astronomically slim that with so many crying for their return, they would willingly choose to stay hidden:(

I question if someone could pull that off without being seen by witnesses
Based on the article, the answer is clearly yes. The guy was with his sister when he fell in and was dissolved. Nobody else reported seeing it.

It depends on a lot of things. Time of year and time of day (aka, how crowded the park is) and which pool they try it in. Have you been to Yellowstone? I agree it would be tough to pull it off in the middle of Norris Basin at noon on a nice day in July, but suspect there are some slightly out of the way hot pools where late in the season (say the second weekend in September) you could make it work. MOO.

There are more than 10,000 thermal features in Yellowstone. Here's what the park's website has to say about the different kinds of springs, geysers, etc.: Hydrothermal Features - Yellowstone National Park (U.S. National Park Service)

To give some perspective on how isolated much of the territory is, here's a hiking site with some beautiful pictures of the back country and Shoshone Basin, a thermal area you can only get to by hiking: Backpacking Yellowstone's Shoshone Lake and Mr Bubbles in May

eta: to remove an apostrophe and s. Why on earth would autocorrect think those were needed? Isn't "thermal" a perfectly good word without them? Enquiring minds want to know.

edit 2: I know you know this, BigAl16. Just general info for everybody.

I hope they can do something and spread a very strong message. I’m actually worried about what will happen to these people after the end of July when nothing different happens. How are they going to react? MOO
I have a friend who was certain the world would end in December, 2012. He got tattoos of Dec 2012 on his back and his leg. In December of 2012 he left the US for the first time in his life to be in Mexico for the end of the world.

Since then he has been working at the local convenience store for minimum wage. He cannot go back to his original (professional) job because small town... He makes maybe 1/3rd of what he earned before his prophets visions didn't work out.

This may sound naive, but is there any possibility that Tylee and JJ ran away together?
No, considering they didn't even go missing at the same time.

Yesterday we discussed the fact that there is no evidence to suggest the kids are alive. Today we learned of two sources that claim to know what is going on with the kids (not what happened to them). I would not call either source reliable but I think it moves the needle a little bit back toward the "safely stashed" side of the gauge. Maybe I'm just looking for anything to provide some hope.
Yea, sure. Unless Lori's jail has ocean views, I don't think she would sit in jail if she could produce her safely stashed kids.

Not really, no iPads, no phones, no bank cards. How do you keep a 17 year old without social media and money? How would they survive? MOO

That’s really sad, has he found happiness yet or is he still lost?

For people who are not LDS, as with any religion or belief, there are people who accept the beliefs, and are "mainstream", meaning that they do not "get into the deep weeds and rabbit holes" of the belief.

The LDS church, as many other churches, various off shoots that stray from the main beliefs and take an obscure tenet, magnify it to a completely different direction from what the original intent was. That is where "cult" religions start.

Whatever Lori and Chad Daybell believe, it definitely has nothing to do with the mainstream LDS religion.

It doesn't seem likely without her credit/debit card or phone. And you'd think she'd have seen the coverage and let someone know she was out there... a 17 year old handling a 7 year old autistic brother on her own? That would not last a month let alone this many months.

I think this is the most depressing piece of the puzzle. Unless the children were in imminent abject undeniable danger.....why would anyone be that stubborn? Why would two people be this stubborn together?

Poor guy.

There are people like him hanging around Livingston and Gardiner, Montana--left over from when the Church Universal and Triumphant apocalypse didn't happen in the nineties. They're just...broken. I talked to one woman who had been a top aerospace engineer in Seattle. She was bagging groceries at a Safeway in Livingston because she didn't know what else to do.

From what neighbors of Lori's said, she didn't even care to watch her adopted autistic child, he was running around without supervision. She took away his service dog, doesn't appear she was even giving him his medication (last time filled in January, still 17 pills left, no evidence of being filled in Idaho). Which indicates to me that she didn't care about him that much to begin with. So the idea that she safely stashed him somewhere but instead of producing him, she will sit in jail doesn't fly at all with me.

I don't mind writing her, but I'm sure as heck using a fake name and driving out of my way for the postmark! lol

No kidding. I was thinking today about the Rexburg neighbors who've shared their personal accounts with LV and the kids, as well as video and the photo. They're living in the same complex as some other key cast members here. I think that is pretty brave of them even though at least one of them chose to remain anonymous -- there are only so many units there.

Start with not thinking like a normal, rational person. That is why so many people have a difficulty with "understanding" this case.

Instead, think like a warped person who only thinks of herself, and wants power and control. She could not control Tylee and JJ, therefore, they had to be taken care of.

If you believe yourself to be the center of your universe, then you can control everything in it.

This is not to say that Lori Daybell meets the definition of "Insanity". It is more likely an extreme narcissism, along the lines of Jodi Arias. Jodi could not control Travis Alexander, so she eliminated him.

I ask myself those same questions, I read here hoping someone understands better than I and then I get nagging thoughts about a missing piece of the puzzle that will explain the madness that is this crazy story. MOO

I agree with your point that she did not seem to care that much for him.

But something bothers me about the pills. If the prescription was filled in January 2019 I doubt they would have given more than a 3 month supply at the very most. So he would have stopped getting his meds in March timeframe. Charles was still alive, he was in school. You would think someone would have noticed a change in behavior when he was taken off his meds. Unless he perhaps did not need them any more. I know virtually nothing about ASD but is it possible he improved and no longer needed meds?

The meds have a lot of side effects. We were offered them for my son and I turned them down. I’ve seen a lot of kids his age that were given them become addicted to drugs in later life. All they really do is slow the child down and make them more compliant. Teachers like them for that reason and so do some parents. As long as you can cope with a faster pace, slightly less concentration and more physical activity it’s really not a issue. I’ve heard it’s rough for a child to withdraw from the meds but I don’t know personally. My son had melatonin for a time to help him sleep but they made his sleep paralysis worse...it was really bad and very frightening. Yes as long as you have patience, energy and a sense of humour (you need it trust me) there’s not a lot of difference IMO. I’ve worked with kids who are on them and a lot of the time they stare into space. We had one child that came in and slept most of the morning after taking his meds. It was sad as he missed out on so much. JMO

I have not ever been. It just seems like there would be some major logistical problems.
They would either need to transport the body to the pool or concince the victim to voluntarily go. The latter risks a noisy struggle, while the former incolves risking being seen dragging something big down the path to the pool.
I dont know how crowded the park is but i would think there is always someone around as popular as it is.
