When I set up bank accounts for my niece and nephew all I needed was their SS number.
My mum set up one for my kids when they were small without my knowledge and no birth certificates. They’re both adults now and have never even seen it. Nobody has ever got in touch with them about changing it into their adult names. I’m shocked and hurt that she got away with it but she has. (The age where they’d be responsible for their own accounts seems to be lower here as well but both of mine had their own jr accounts at 13 and handled their own accounts without my name on from 16). I suspect there’s a lot of fraud that happens around children’s banking accounts that never gets picked up on. MOO

Tylee was there when Charles was killed, and probably knew more than what she told LE. She could have known about Lori's future plans for some other people. There is even chance Tylee knew more about demise of her biological father. So if Tylee wasn't agreeable with Lori's plans, absolutely she could have become a big problem for Lori and Alex.
This might sound a bit... cold, but I don't think Tylee cared that much about Charles. It seems like she was down to ride with her mom and her uncle, and that she actually had a somewhat "bad" relationship with Charles. I think harming JJ would be crossing the line for two people: Tylee and Colby. But Tylee would be the hardest one to keep quiet because she was with JJ everyday, it would be really hard to come up with something believable to explain why JJ was not around anymore. Colby, on the other hand, even though it's obvious that he was present in JJ's life, had his own family and his own life, and was not in Idaho so lying to him about JJ would be easier. I believe Lori kept Tylee's phone to communicate with Colby pretending to be Tylee so he wouldn't get too suspicious.

Assuming he had a will, there is no way he would leave it to Lori. Assuming he did not, his ex-wife is so low in the line of beneficiaries that I don't see how its possible she received anything. Tylee would be the first beneficiary and assuming she is his only child then entitled to it all.

Many divorce agreements have a clause that the ex-wife remains beneficiary on a life insurance policy to secure child or sousal support in the event the payor dies. This could have been the case if in fact the whole life insurance story is true with regard to this ex-husband.

I kinda feel like Chad was a bomb just waiting to go off. I think he was a control freak based on some of his visions and writings regarding Tammy. He had that vision they should move to Rexburg, but he had to convince Tammy. Then there was another instance where Tammy was playing a game called Frontierville and Chad forced her to quit playing to game, because if IRC he wanted Tammy to resume genealogy. His attitude about her diversion game, really bothered me.

I joke that Chad had no real sex life. (Well, he had sex 5 times).

However, something wasn't right with him. We have seen this kind of behavior in other husbands.

But insurance beneficiary overrules Will, right????
As I understand it, the main reason they need her fingerprints is because Lori is contesting extradition to Idaho. If Lori had not contested then they would have proceeded to extradite her right away and she would be sent to Idaho as soon as ID LEOs were able to pick her up. She can't argue against the charges leveled at her from Fremont Co, ID in the Hawaii courts. Hawaii's role is to arrest her on the ID warrant and send her to ID. She can only contest her identity and say "that's not me on the arrest warrant, you have the wrong person", and/or claim it was not a legal arrest. Now that she is contesting extradition, the HI prosecutor will go about proving they have arrested the correct person. That's why he requested time to get her fingerprints and bring in witnesses who can identify Lori. ID may have Lori's fingerprints if she did a background check to rent the Pioneer Rd apt: Idaho Background Checks | DMV.com
MOO.
Curious. Can ID use those fingerprints if there are any other circumstances where they got fingerprints? Not sure if that is at all relevant...but we have no idea the accumulated evidence they have in AZ and ID.

I don't think Tylee cared that much about Charles either. But that doesn't mean she didn't know more about his death than what she told LE. Then there might have been plants made for other people that Tylee could have heard Lori and Alex talking about. Basically, she could have been a problem for that for multiple reasons. But bottom line, Tylee went missing first, before JJ did. So I don't think it was all about JJ.

I now don't believe their "religious" beliefs have anything to do with their behavior. Lori is the better master liar, so I think she could try to come up with something fantabulous to go against Chad. But, I think Chad has the potential of some decent people in his background to help him come up with something more believable and more less liar-friendly. Maybe I am too optimistic of "who will crack first", but I do think we will see the cracks before any trial.
MOO their cult beliefs may have played a part. I think we will have to wait for it all to come out in court though to find out how much. Sex and money seem to be huge factors also. JMO

Hence my confusion!! I know there was a lot of discussion about the passport/Mexico issue previously...I was hoping Dateline would provide more detail in the episode than just the dramatic headline, but no luck. Thanks for your responses!
You can certainly book tickets without a passport, maybe they did that to make people think that's what they where they were going- a diversion? I booked international travel tickets months before I applied for my passport -

Neither will be arrested for a death-penalty charge while in Hawaii, imo, unless there are assurances to take the death penalty off the table. I'm thinking Chad will never leave Hawaii, or at least never travel to a death-penalty state where he could be arrested and sent to Idaho to face charges.

I've been thinking this as well. Chad may not follow his bride to Idaho - unless forced to do so.

Wait, how do we know ZP and Melanie are immediate neighbors? I thought the address was redacted in Alex’s 911 call/transcript? I saw a property record post awhile back that noted a Melanie Gibbs address and also a Jose Lopez address in close proximity, but I imagine there are many Jose Lopez’s in Arizona...did I miss another source that confirmed this? TIA...(and yes I’ve had to skip many posts/threads just to keep up...finally watched Dateline last night!! )
Lopez does appear to be the son of ZP (and I believe from recall he actually shows up as owner((which I don't get)), MG lives in same neighborhood.

I finally watched Dateline last night! I wondered about the flight to Mexico, IIRC Dateline said ‘a source’ informed them of the flight to Mexico... I’m wondering if they ever actually bought tickets, or if they just told someone that was their plan...like a hotel employee or something, who then told Dateline. We know they’re both capable of lying!
i know, i know....this one keeps troubling me as well. Lawyer said no passports, most wise folks here on forum say you DO need passport to enter by plane.. So if someone can add anything more definitive here it would be very helpful.

Assuming Tylee was no longer with them after Sept 8th, I wonder why they kept JJ for a few more weeks? Bargaining with the grandparents for some of the insurance $$?

SBM for focus.

If you’re making an asylum claim would ID be enough to enter by air? From everything I’ve read it is but someone with legal knowledge may know more. MOO

If they have the doorbell footage from that day they most likely have all the footage from after that date too, right? Does anyone have a ring doorbell to comment?

Probably true, but as pointed out in the post just above yours and another one earlier from RS, entry and exit through the garage on the other side of the building means that we can't assume this would show everyone who came and went.

No, grandparents have said they had no contact in September.

U.S. citizens should be aware that a valid passport book is required to enter Mexico by air, and those attempting to enter at an airport with a U.S. passport card only may be denied admission.
