It's interesting that Lori didn't brainwash her son, but she managed to brainwash her niece.

Maybe it's a family female bonding thing - Indoctrination of sorts between the women in this family?

  • #922
I'm not sure that's true.
Lori is a named POI, which makes her fair game for sleuthing. We can post anything we find that is factual and can be supported by MSM or with public records or publicly available information. We can also post her SM accounts. We just need to be sure we aren't posting information about someone else with the same name.

I looked up translated being to see if that was something Lori made up. It is actually a term used in the LDS faith but the last person believed to be a translated being was John the Baptist, according to the wiki. Interestingly, another woman, Annalee Skarin, declared herself a translated being and a prophet with the intent to help her sell her books. She too had been excommunicated from the church for a book she had written. I wonder if Lori was aware of this person's history? Skarin did in fact die like a normal human being.

Just a thought on lava pool use in Yellowstone area: the previous shootings were done very brazenly. (In fact, everything has been done pretty out in the open which is why this is so shocking.) I think they would have stuck to their pattern of shooting or poisoning. I don't think the lava pools fit the pattern. But maybe they deviated with the children because they thought they could explain their absence more easily than the adults. Tylee at away at college...JJ with a friend....

IDK if the 144K has been discussed. It's not something LV made up. (just for those that do not know or are interested) 144,000 - Wikipedia

Add: If I understand, the Mormons believe they are descended from one of the Tribes of Israel, which would mean (imo) that there would only be 12,000 for them if that makes sense.

"This week I have been taught and learned some things about translation. I've learned that it's an ordinance and anordination, and that it's a process of going from the physical natural fallen man to a state of translation. It appears that is notin 'the twinkling of an eye' experience, but that actually begins with an ordination and that person is instructed and taughtinthe principles of this doctrine, of this ordinance, and that they grow into it, as it were. There's instruction that goes along, andthere’s a process to where you are changed, not immediately, but at least at this point where we are talking about thebeginnings of translation, among the Remnant, over a period of time.I've also learned about something that is called the 'tip of the spear'. This is the terminology that is used by one of thepeople that I’m talking to. Another terminology that is used to discuss the same concept is the 'first wave'. A third concept is'to gather the gatherers'. So those three concepts all pertain to a small group of people within a larger group, and these are allthe people who are foreordained to be translated and serve as the rescuers that we’ve talked about in other podcasts. The tipof the spear is a small group of young men and women who are ordained, and have received this ordinance from Godhimself, or through authorized immortal non-telestial beings. Angels who have a charge from God, ortranslated beings fromthe City of Enoch are charged with administering this ordinance. So that is the tip of the spear. I like that phraseology. I thought that was really neat. This is your very, very beginning vanguard. This is what was referredto by another person as the 'first wave' ofpersons who have received an ordination and the ordinance of translation. These people then are authorized because of thisgodly heavenly ordination ordinance, they are authorized now to go out and do that same ordinance, to perform the same, andadminister that same ordinance to other gatherers. So the first group of “gather the gatherers,” and all of these gatherers end up being part of that rescue group, the144,000, who end up translated beings, men and women, whose job it is to rescue pockets of Latter-Day Saints, and goodmen and women everywhere from among all the nations of the earth."
The cult that Chad and Lori are presumably a part of, with its leaders being core members of the "group who can't be named", as seen above, have very definite/unique ideas about both translated beings and the 144,000. Moo

Her parents are such a mystery... we cannot talk about them, and they historically know how to protect themselves from Gov't (or try to), and MSM also... imo
Who raised Melani after her mother's death?

Possibly, that would explain her niece but not Alex or Chad. Colby was emancipated and out of the house when LV began changing and believing she was a transient being and her association with Chad. Not being in the home, having some distance from the crazy may have contributed to him not being indoctrinated but that does not apply to Chad or Alex, so IDK, lol.

I'm not sure about that - defense lawyers can and do raise the SODDI defense without their client taking the stand, as we've recently seen in Charles Merritt's trial and Mark Sievers' trial to name just two.

Yes - but in this case it is significantly more difficult without any direct testimony

LV is the custodial parent of the kids. She has to know if suddenly they are not around anymore. She raised no alarms. This makes her a party to the crime.

And where will the evidence "that Alex did it" come from, unless LV produces stuff she knows was used in the murders? or the bodies?

I get that it is an interesting idea, but IMO the practicalness of "blame Alex" are way more difficult compared to McStay, unless LV testifies and makes herself a party

IMO most likely defense:

1). Alex took the children someplace safe but she didn’t want to know where because that would put them in some kind of danger. Then Alex died and she doesn’t know where he took them.

It's an interesting idea, but how will you put this in evidence?

2). She thought Alex took them someplace safe and he was watching out for them. Then he died and she learned they weren’t “there” after all. Now she’s afraid Alex snapped and killed them because he was crazy and thought they were Zombies. Then must killed himself out of remorse.

Again - how will you place this in evidence unless LV takes the stand?

She also brainwashed Alex. Maybe she went after easier targets, although Melani had a lovely family before Lori tore her away from them.

Lopez does appear to be the son of ZP (and I believe from recall he actually shows up as owner((which I don't get)), MG lives in same neighborhood.

i know, i know....this one keeps troubling me as well. Lawyer said no passports, most wise folks here on forum say you DO need passport to enter by plane.. So if someone can add anything more definitive here it would be very helpful.

Yes, she lied to lawyer and he repeated her lie. Happens all the time. OR she has it in another name, like Ryan.

If money is a issue, Idaho should start crowd funding. I am sure many people would contribute as this is such a good cause.

Many of us are already crowd funding it with our taxes. :)

The females have some sort of bond which includes "use" of males to further their wants and needs. (Money, ego, getting rid of things they don't like or want).

Ooops! I quoted myself which is not what I meant to do.

How long am I going to need to clear my life's calendar when all of these people go to trial? I might need to do some....prepping.
I’m going to need to take a sabbatical from work lol

I know this has been asked and discussed over and over and I apologize to those that may be tired of the question, but I have not seen a verified answer. Was CD excommunicated last fall? I had only read he was asked to step down from his role as Exec. Sec. to the Bishop. Thank you and again my apologies.

I'm not sure that even that last part is true. He (more or less) stepped down himself by moving out of the ward, I think.

I have not the skill or time- but here is an entrepreneurial idea for someone:

For these incredibly complex cases- put the major players and moving pieces in a visual format- like a concept map. Concept map - Wikipedia

I would pay for a concept map of this case- not even kidding.

Opening statements are what they will be able to prove and back up through witness testimony and or evidence.

This is very interesting for Madison county, after watching the "Crime Beat" for East Idaho news, it seems like a "normal" day is checking on cows that wandered onto the freeway, or a random drunk driver.

The courthouse must be buzzing.

True. Alex was raised in same atmosphere as Lori... So maybe there's something about the C family that would make for great psych evaluation. I'm certainly not suggesting there's a mental "excuse" (imo there is not!), but I'd love a peek behind this family veil.
