I know we called about CP being into snowmobiling and I think he runs a website or forum or something related to that. I haven't seen any others, but can understand that given the popularity of outdoor activities (for obvious reasons) in the Rexburg area and how much snow they get, it doesn't surprise me. How many of your neighbors are into surfing compared to those in Rexburg? Kind of the same concept.

MOO
I'm not convinced there is an organization of any kind. Just a small group of cra ... less than rational people who were made for each other.

MOO
Well now I just watched 48 hours about Faylene Grant, unrelated maybe but seemed a little too similar - He's a health guru, well known, they were LDS, they had visions, he had a young blonde girlfriend on the side that he married 3 weeks after etc, her daughter sued him so he couldn't profit from any book sales, he was arrested but just made bond I guess..in the same areas such as Gilbert AZ

This reminds me of what was happening on BYU campus years ago. This may be relevant since CV had attended there. I am sure he would be aware of this too.

So what a lot of the students were doing is traveling to Las Vegas on the weekends, getting married and having a lot of sex. Then they would annul the "wedding". In their eyes they weren't breaking the commandments.

Well the Church got wind of this and put their foot down. Although this is following the letter of the law, it definitely isn't following the spirit of the law.

I wonder if this is where some of this weird beliefs stemmed from. MOO

Did you mean CD? I was of the impression CV converted later in life, after he married LV.

Bless, that was a lot of hard work you did... the primary (and maybe sole) problem I have with these speculations is, I can't quite picture Chad thinking of himself as Moroni.

Largely because he doesn't seem to have said nor hinted anything of the kind, which I grant is not the best principle upon which to work; but it seems to me that this is a pretty big chasm to jump, and weird as Chad is, I don't think he thinks he has gone so far as to think of himself as reincarnated Moroni.

IMO, JMO, MOO, of course.

I understand and agree. What was stated was that their marriage/ union was "sealed" by Moroni.

I totally agree with your complete post but particularly the parts I snipped. Also, I believe many of us have shared this viewpoint from very early on in this case. I want to know more about members and actions of the cult which Chad and Lori belong. It seems this cult just picks, chooses, and manipulates/twists LDS teachings to their own advantages... and the end result is sinister and dangerous.

I would too. That's one reason I keep reading on WS. Unfortunately, we haven't learned much, and some of what we have learned I wouldn't count as fully verified.

We need a VI from AVOW, but one doesn't seem likely to emerge.

Someone in my family at one time had a diagnosis of Bipolar but I think it got changed at some point to BPD. I'm not seeing many of the symptoms I see in that person among those being discussed here or what I would say I see in Lori. Now the Narcissist description (also a mental health diagnosis) is one that the symptoms I've heard discussed seem to fit Lori.

MOO

I'm not Borderline but my mom is. I have rapid cycling bipolar, and I don't see how they are similar at all...

It would be wild if someone from AVOW came on here, you know they are totally watching what we say... They are forum lurkers and so are we to an extent...

Is the consensus that Chad and Lori are in charge of their own little cult group or is there a much larger following being led by "the man behind the curtain"?

There's a church the next town over from me that touts themselves as Pentecostal but they are way out there. Their beloved leader lived in an opulent mansion and thought nothing of holding matchmaking sessions during their "international" meetings. Yes, this church has went international. She died a couple of years ago at the age of 99. Her faithful carry on. Jmo
I really don’t know how deep this goes or with what kind of numbers. Every time I manage to convince myself it’s just a small group then I find more to discredit that.

I suppose a lot depends on if the group manages to stay together and grow while under scrutiny from LE and the FBI. A lot depends on if they stand by CD and LV as more and more evidence comes out. It’s worrying though. I even found prepper groups/end of the world groups in uk forums. I hope they’re not at international size yet but whichever way you look at it...that movement alone is growing, which leads way to the cult movement getting more interest.

I do wonder what help and support CD and LV are getting and where it’s coming from, if any. I hope they haven’t got some rich members willing to bail them out when they get back. Time will tell I suppose. MOO

Respectfully I must disagree, as Lori told CV, at least according to CV, that she was sealed "to" Moroni.

Lori Vallow asked friend to lie about missing kids, called herself an ‘empty-nester’: police

“Mother has told Father (Charles Vallow) that she is sealed [eternally married] to the ancient Book of Mormon prophet Moroni and that she has lived numerous lives on numerous planets prior to this current life," the February court documents read.

Maybe somebody else in connection with this case said "by Moroni"; but Lori thinks she's bound "to" Moroni.

Normally I don’t post until I’ve caught up on the thread, but I have another 250 posts to go. Assuming DoctorAttorney hasn’t gotten verified in the meantime, let me just say NO these Spanish land grants are not even POSSIBLY areas where US jurisdiction doesn’t apply. The questions are all about the rights of individuals/communities to the ownership/benefit of those parcels and NOT about whether people on those lands are subject to US laws. Now I would not be the tiniest bit surprised if fringe-law sovereign citizen types are spreading such nonsense, but it isn’t real.

Thanks for this

I am bookmarking this post for later zombie drive bys ;)

Thanks! I overlooked that. Well, she is obviously elevating herself even more than I initially perceived....which was already pretty high. WOW, just WOW.

That's what I said! It's weird, right?

lol, I thought they had changed the diagnosis & nobody told me.

I think what it comes down to is that some people are just 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 people. People who have mental illness can be horrible, but so can people with diabetes or cancer. Sometimes people just suck. And because it’s hard for people who don’t suck to understand why people do, they try to find answers or blame it on x, y or z.

I truly believe Lori and Chad are just horrible people, regardless of what physical or mental diagnoses they might have.

Years ago, my step-mother assured me that she had been to a therapist and the therapist said there was nothing s/he could do help my step-mother. Even at the age of 17, I knew there were several ways one could take that, and not necessarily as a positive.
AH HA!!

No problem!! :)

I mean, I wouldn't wholly rule out that Chad thinks he's Moroni.

But it would be a big leap from the last we know of Chad.

I didn't see if anyone mentioned this already, but Sept 26, 2019 was National Public Lands Day and entry into Yellowstone was free that day: National Parks Fee Free Day - WYC

I am going to get my lawn chair and popcorn in the next life and watch Moroni met Lori.

That is the more reasonable explanation of things, sometimes bad people are just that and nothing else...
