@DoctorAttorney and @Anonymous91 I think you both may right. Is it possible one of you is using BPD to stand for borderline personality disorder (no true emotions, etc) and the other Bipolar personality disorder (overly emotional). I’m not sure which one it’s officially the abbreviation for myself.
Bipolar Disorder is not a personality disorder, it is a mood disorder like major depression.

I would too. That's one reason I keep reading on WS. Unfortunately, we haven't learned much, and some of what we have learned I wouldn't count as fully verified.

We need a VI from AVOW, but one doesn't seem likely to emerge.

True. Having a VI from AVOW post here would be no less than a "miracle". I'm sure they consider most of us not enlightened nor elevated enough for them to explain their doctrine and practices.

Thank you. It's for sure not in the same category as Borderline, Antisocial, or Narcissistic - which is more the stuff I think most people here are thinking of. I have multiple friends that are bipolar and it's not rapid cycling emotions like most people think. My one friend will have manic episodes that last for weeks or months. And then will flip to depressive.

Also, I saw someone upthread say something about Borderline not having emotions. That's so very far from the truth. Borderline has intense emotions with very black and white thinking. They either love you or hate you with no in-between. Their ability to control their emotions can be lacking.

Justin Lum Fox 10 on Twitter

MELANI REMARRIED: Fox 10 obtained marriage cert for Melani Boudreaux (Lori Vallow’s niece) & Ian Pawlowski (11/30). 2 weeks after her arrest in Utah, 3 days after Rexburg PD searched her apt when JJ’s grandma reported him missing & 1 day after Alex Cox (uncle) also married in LV.
In the presence of Alex Pastenes. Already using his new name.

I also agree with these points, and would like to add a couple of my own thoughts. There is so much out there in MSM, but the info that is pertinent, IMO, is this "belief system" of theirs, which you mention, and gives major insight into what is going on. (I have added MSM links for reference to where I received my information, see below).

  • CD and LVD are "sealed" to each other through some ritualistic meeting, by Moroni. They also believe that they were already married in other lives.
  1. Moroni according to the Book of Mormon, was the last Nephite prophet, historian, and military commander who lived in the Americas in the late fourth and early fifth centuries
  • CD and LVD are the "Leaders" and are now responsible for gathering the couples for the 144,000.
  • They make charts of who the people are and how many probation's they have had and who they have been in past lives. The 12 apostles are also on this list. (Tammy was once on this list and was noted as once being married to John the beloved who was also Enoch).
  1. Probation's - definition: previous lives
CD and LVD are "responsible" for deciding if a man and a woman might be destined to be together, even if that person is married to someone else. Like multiple probation's, (this is not a Latter-day Saint belief). Within their circle, this appears to be a predominant issue.

CD teaches that people can essentially be reincarnated and live multiple times — and have multiple probations — on earth. (Reincarnation is not accepted Latter-day Saint doctrine.)

An interesting note ...
CDs autobiography states he does not believe in reincarnation.

“He goes out there, but he doesn’t go that far out,” Bertram said. “He’s making some pretty strong assertions, he just knows that there’s a line and he’s going to stay behind that line.”,

BUT.. LVD, however...
The documents indicate LVD reportedly told her now-deceased husband Charles Vallow she is a “reincarnated God” who would “murder him if he got in the way of her mission.”
  1. Starting in February of 2019, Charles Vallow filed for divorce from LVD and requested full custody of JJ. The court filing claims that LVD had "become infatuated and at times obsessive about near-death experiences and spiritual visions."
  2. LVD also allegedly told Charles that "she is sealed (eternally married) to the ancient Book of Mormon prophet Moroni and that she has lived numerous lives on numerous planets prior to this current life."
  3. Weeks before the divorce filing, Charles said LVD told him that "she is a translated being who cannot taste death sent by God to lead the 144,000 into the Millennium.
  4. "The divorce documents allege that Lori believed that Jesus Christ's second coming would happen in July 2020 and only 144,000 would live through it.
  5. Charles also claimed that Lori threatened to kill him if he got in the way of her mission. "I mean imagine what you would do if you had a god speak to you would start feeling a little bit empowered and it looks like that is exactly what happened," Chad Daybell's old missionary friend told Dateline.

At the beginning of CD's autobiography is a dedication to his wife Tammy: “My one and only.”
The autobiography goes on to describe marrying Tammy Daybell at the Manti Temple and working as a grave digger at the same cemetery where she would later be buried.
CD wrote that he believes their five children will have a role to play in the second-coming of Jesus Christ. Many of the characters in his novels are named after his five biological children. This info found shows why his children support him and why they are all still alive.

So it is obvious, that early on, the two shared different core beliefs, this has changed. We see the change in CD after becoming closer to LVD. remember, he had one wife for 30 years. LVD on the other hand, who at 46 years old, has 4 husbands before CD.

The following bits of info, I believe are very important, imo

  • Zombie - CD believes that a person's spirit can be hijacked by an evil spirit. Then the spirit is in limbo.
  1. CD told LVD that Charles Vallow became Ned Snyder and has now become a zombie, his spirit has been hijacked by an evil spirit. His actual spirit is now in limbo. (Ned Snyder?)
  • CD tells Alex that he was an angel that had come and stopped Laman and Lemuel from hurting Nephi and was now Lori's protector.
  1. Laman and Lemuel are the two eldest sons of Lehi and the older brothers of Sam, Nephi, Jacob and Joseph.
  2. Nephi is one of the central figures described in the Book of Mormon. He was the son of Lehi, a propeht, founder of the Nephite people
  • Alex becomes the "hitman" This is immediately before Charles untimely death.
  • Tammy becomes suspicious of CD and LVD's relationship (aware they are taking trips together) and voices this suspicion so,
  1. CD tells LVD that Tammy has become a Zombie. Her spirit has been hijacked. This is before Tammy's untimely death.
  • Then at some point CD declares Alex, Tylee and Kay are all Zombies.
  1. Tylee disappears,
  2. JJ disappears
  3. Alex dies,
  4. Kay however is still alive.

Recap of their beliefs, imo...

If we take these beliefs, and try to sort them out...
1. You are like/a God.
2. You create the chart of chosen people
3. You decide who should be married
4. You then declare the other spouse/children a zombie
5. Once they are declared... their life no longer matters because their actual spirits are in limbo
5. You then file to receive their life insurance $ (because human greed always has a part to play)
6. The cycle continues.

I write all of this to say.....IMO, killing someone who has become a "Zombie" is not a problem, if your core beliefs are these described above. You are above human/earthly laws and you will be reincarnated anyway. "Death is a non-issue" Which can explain CD and LVD's arrogance and non emotion in regard to any of the missing or those that are deceased. "Their end, justifies their means" Again, all IMO.

I would like to add this scripture, not from the Book of Mormon, but the Bible.

1 John 2:15-16 -
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world is the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions.

Obviously, the core beliefs of this family are off the beaten path, but it is these basic scriptural principles that humans generally struggle with and are the root causes of many bad choices and lifelong problems. IMO

I think you've laid out a plausible narrative. I've seen assertions of most of what you say at one point or another (probably reading/hearing the same sources you have). I don't recall having come across the point that Chad declared Alex, Kay, and Tylee zombies, but I may have missed/overlooked/forgotten that.

If this turns out to be roughly how Chad and Lori are orienting their actions, it won't surprise me.

However, I'm going to hold off on fully trusting it, mainly because of the ways the assertions were made: many of the most shocking through things like divorce filings and the apparent confession of one of Lori's friends who may be trying to distance herself from this mess. In other words, they might be second-hand at best, they're likely fragmentary in their emphases, and it's possible that some of the recountings have been embellished (even unintentionally, or perhaps more benignly misconstrued) to help prop up the asserters' own very real personal interests.

But at this point, I think we have to give this at least cautious credence because we don't really have anything else to go on.

Island Park. Take highway 20 north from Rexburg 30-something miles and you're in the Island Park area. It stretches for about 20 miles before the road starts climbing over the mountain to West Yellowstone, MT.
Thanks. And how do we know this, was it in one of his books? We don't have a specific address though?

Not trying to single you out, your comment is just the last I read that said this. Where is it coming from that borderlines have no true emotions? I’ve read that numerous times on this thread and I’m completely stumped as to why people believe this. I have the same emotions as the rest of you, usually felt MORE than the “normal” person. Sometimes I wish I didn’t feel things as deeply as I do. I think people may be confusing BPD with other disorders where people are apathetic & it’s basically the opposite.

I will preface that I am not an expert, nor do I have any formal training in this, so this is all my personal opinion and from my personal experience.

For me I was told this by two Psychologist I met with. I think the problem through my research, is not even the professionals agree on what is BPD. In part, that is because someone can have other disorders that can crossover. Also, many psychologist won't even take on clients that have this disorder.

I will say this, from what I have seen, professionals tend to disagree even among themselves. I imagine that it is fairly complicated. It's also possible that there is a range within BPD from mild to severe, I suppose.

I can only speak from what I witnessed personally. She would do and say things that would be at odds with how someone would normally react. If she felt things or not, she never told me. Hopefully that clears up some confusion. MOO

I have found no record of such marriage... whereas the others are searchable. Way back, i do know it was mentioned that they thought there was not a marriage. Oh...if we could just get ma and pa Cox to answer some questions...

The 1st marriage has been reported by a number of news organisations early on. And no one has changed opinion openly. Also the surname is openly available.

I wonder if it was annulled? Would records show this? Or are they scrubbed like it never happened?

On another note. If DR Phil won't diagnose people even after interviewing them I don't know why anyone else thinks they can. Please don't speak on things you don't have direct knowledge of. Please no more cavalier diagnosis of Lori or anyone else. At the end of the day a name of a disorder won't help pushing this case forward. If fact it might hurt it and spread misunderstanding. Enough people have been offended now. Lets not hurt anyone else.

And Island Park is on the way to Yellowstone... Lori (nor Alex) had not been in ID too long. It is Chad who knew this area well. Convinced he knows everything that went down.

Or where did MBP have to be so urgently to miss her own brother's wedding in same city as her?

Thanks. And how do we know this, was it in one of his books? We don't have a specific address though?

I don't remember how we know he was camping in Island Park, only that it has been discussed here numerous times. Someone else probably will know a source for it off the top of their head.

Did you mean CD? I was of the impression CV converted later in life, after he married LV.

Yes I did mean CD, too many initials to keep track of. lol :)

@CSIDreamer
and
That is a good sign. It sounds like this person is doing what they can to deal with the issue.

I'm not going to try to put everyone that struggles with these disorders into a box, everyone is different and makes different choices.

I was told that someone that struggles with BPD, at best, can take medications, and expect to do lifetime therapy. Then there is a chance that they can live a better life. Therapist admit that most that struggle with this addiction will not seek help, and only see patients that have been court ordered.

In my experience, my ex wouldn't even admit she had a problem, or that she needed help. The first step with dealing with this is to admit that you have a problem, same goes for addiction.

You can't help someone who isn't ready to help themselves. MOO:)

BD (Bipolar disorder) and BPD (Borderline personality disorder) are two very different disorders with different treatment options.
The abbreviations for each can be different for different countries so that can add to confusion.
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder causing severe mood changes.
Borderline personality disorder is a personality disorder.

There are lots of good medical references out there that compare the two conditions.

:) Hope this helps the conversation!

Today's takeaways:

I didn't realize that CR wasn't the bio son of JR, that he had been adopted when JR and L were married. (am I the last one to know this?)

L paid the Nanny in cash, even though Nanny requested Venmo

Chad plans on leaving the island when his lease is up this Friday.

No wonder I don't get anything done around here anymore...

edited by me: I was wrong. Removed wrong info thanks @BigAl16

Is the consensus that Chad and Lori are in charge of their own little cult group or is there a much larger following being led by "the man behind the curtain"?

There's a church the next town over from me that touts themselves as Pentecostal but they are way out there. Their beloved leader lived in an opulent mansion and thought nothing of holding matchmaking sessions during their "international" meetings. Yes, this church has went international. She died a couple of years ago at the age of 99. Her faithful carry on. Jmo

I don't know about any consensus. From my point of view, the question is still very much up in the air. If I had to guess one way or the other, I'd say that it's a relatively small group (and that the group sees itself as the vanguard to start gathering the 144,000) and that there's no single "man behind the curtain." Maybe Chad/Lori are regarded as one of the leaders among others, but I've not seen much to suggest that he/she's the single one in charge.

It does seem possible that there are many supporters/quasi-supporters who are "less in the know" (again assuming that what we're thinking of this group is that it's going about to gather the 144,000 is indeed the case).

I've been thinking about the way Lori justifies the things she says and her choice of verbiage. I actually think she believes these things. 1- This is a CUSTODY issue- I think she really believes it is about custody of the money. 2- CV's HEART ATTACK- does she really believe that his heart was simply attacked by a bullet? Not to mention her crass and downright vulgar description of JJ as her niece's drug baby. No, JJ is YOUR SON through adoption. Remember she wants to make her legal claim over KW and LW. You don't get to pick and choose when he is or is not your child.
Liars repeat lies. Heart Attack worked for JR, didn't it? Might as well use it again.
