BBM I know you’re being snarky here but you might actually have a point. Nate said there were the kids’ birth certificates and electronics in that baggie too before the cops took them. Maybe was a grab and dash baggie with literally all the money she had left that she kept in the glove box. ?? Or it was an emergency funds in case something happened to CD that she didn’t have access to his money. MOO I’m reaching for straws here.
good straws. i agree... remember there was the possibility that they were getting ready to go to Mexico too.

This guys presentation is painful to watch. Don’t care much for the production quirks and ended up only watching a portion of it.
Indeed. He needs to put some giddyup in his step.

The baggie of cash initially made me think of how some people hide their credit cards or emergency-only cash frozen in a block of ice in the freezer. My thought after hearing that Nate thinks Lori had the birth certificates and other important papers LE seized in that baggie, is that maybe it was baggie kept inside a safe deposit box at a bank. Some people who have safe deposit boxes, or even home safes, will use these sealing deposit bags so they will know right away if anyone has gotten into the cash: Tamper Evident Deposit Bags - Tamper Evident Security Bags - Shields Security Bags
I can see Charles doing that to store some amount of money he was keeping on hand and I can see Lori not even bothering to take the money out of the bag. MOO.
I have thought it was just their way to store the money --but keep it close--in the car? Nate indicated in the podcast with Greg that they did take the birth certificates, but perhaps, Lori and chad could have made a case that that money was they only way they could live there... so they let them take the bag out of the car....

And the 2,000 new followers aren't "liking" his site as in agreeing with it. Pretty much everyone flames him. IMO he is trolling more than anything else. I didn't read one single person who suggested Lori be freed besides the OP.

I pointed out the other day that you can "like" a page on Facebook or just "follow" it. Many people don't know this or, if they do, seldom care. If you look at the count for "likes" and "follows" they are often very close to each other, for example a page of mine with likes around 2,700 has a follow count 30-40 higher which is typical. This page the like count is only about 1/3 the follow count, so people are making a point of NOT liking it. But based on the logic I've seen coming from the person who runs the page that kind of thing is too subtle for them to notice or, even if pointed out to them, understand. (Assuming they aren't either playing dumb or just trolling the world with the page to begin with.)

I was listening to Gray Hughes in the background while doing other things and I thought I heard the same thing. But I wasn't sure if Nate said Chad called his parents every night or did he say Chad called his kids every night? I meant to go back and listen again, when I have time. But if anyone can find that detail, I think it's incredibly important. The Daily Mail followed Chad around on the day he visited Lori in Jail. Daily Mail says Chad talked on the phone in his car twice-- 1st outside the jail and then again in the Walmart parking lot. They said he appeared to be having an emotional conversation at one point:

I wondered who he was talking to and what was he telling them.

MOO.
Nate said he talked to his parents every day.

Thank you! Wow. I guess that's why his parents said Chad is going to be OK:

"KSL TV also spoke to Chad Daybell’s parents. They said they did not want to comment about the case but said they are watching it very closely and have talked to their son since Lori Vallow’s arrest.

They would only say their son is going to be OK."

Former Mission Companion Of Chad Daybell In Disbelief After Developments

I wonder what they have been told and what believe? Do they think Chad has been duped by Lori? Or are they totally supportive of both Lori and Chad, despite Chad lying to them previously about Lori having no minor children? How can Chad's parents stand to be silent in the press? I can appreciate wanting privacy, still loving your son, and hoping this mess will go away. But at some point I would be issuing a press statement (crafted with the help of my attorney).

MOO.

Then we have the brother of Chad who did issue a statement distancing himself specifically. I could see the parents not wanting to go public one way or another because of issues it would cause with whatever part of the family didn't agree with whatever they said. And I'm going to assume there would be some who wouldn't, regardless of their stance. It is kind of amazing that Chad's kids, at least from what we've been able to see, have all supported him, at least from what we can see, even if in inappropriate ways (yeah, I'm looking at you, Emma).

Who carries wads of cash to the beach or pool though? You're inviting yourself to be robbed...IMO.

We put phones, other electronics and cash in ziplocks often when we are at the pool/beach. Basically anything we didn't want to get wet. Because we are packing wet towels out or wet gear. Just a personal practice. Likely the same with Lori moo

I like this news!

The FBI has been involved for awhile. So, is this command center here to help "welcome" her back to Idaho? Is that SOP? Or maybe the FBI is anticipating and preparing for Chad or Lori to soon share additional information as to what happened to JJ and Tylee?
Maybe a good place for our Rexburg people to hang a large banner.

The character of Chad’s child is not adequately represented by that media video.
I’m not defending her actions there but I know her. She is a very good person. There’s no chance she felt at that moment her father was guilty of her mother’s murder or of harming children or conspiring in CVs murder or anything else that seems so likely to so many at this point. She is a victim in all of this as are all of his children and I cannot comprehend being in their shoes and what kind of bad decisions I might make if my kind, patient, beloved and now only living parent were being accused of heinous criminal activity that I felt certain he was innocent of. If Chad is indeed guilty, his poor kids are going to have their world upended for a fourth time. First when their mother suddenly and unexpectedly died. Second when their father immediately remarried. Third when their mother’s body was exhumed and the whole ensuing saga we have all been following. How can they not hold onto the belief their father is innocent? As time goes by that may change and if so, it only means more pain for them. If anyone deserves mercy and compassion and infinite second chances, it’s these kids. Adults though they may be, this is their dad and it’s all come out of left field for them. They don’t even have a chance to grieve. MOO

I get the feeling Chad has quite a number of Rexburg supporters (or at least several in emotional/mental limbo about him and his involvement in all this). Are there enough to prevent banner-hanging?!

I would think if she did confide in anyone it would be her mom or her sister, both of whom are already cooperating with LE. At least that is what we know from comments in MSM—that Chad told them Lori had no minor children. I’m also thinking if Tammy did know about an affair, Lori would not have been at the funeral services in Rexburg. Nate confirmed she was there on the Gray Hughes show. Of course we already knew that thanks to our Rexburg sleuth. The audacity of showing up if that info was out there would be ... well ... something maybe only someone like Lori would do. So who knows? Speculation here: It seems possible to me that CV died when he did because he was threatening Lori that he would share this info with Tammy. Wasn’t the email from “Charles” that invited Chad down to Az written June 29th and intended for a meeting after July 11th when CV died? So something happened to hasten his demise. Perhaps it was Lori finding out CV knew about Lori and Chad and was ready to tell Tammy. MOO

One point worth sleuthing or speculating, is when an “affair” between LV and CD is suggested, does that mean an emotional affair (being around each other, love letters, dancing on videos); or does it imply a sexual affair? As “leaders” and “deities”, with a following, these two would be in a LOT of trouble with their followers who (I’m assuming) are still taught the commandment that is very strongly taught in mainstream LDS faith - “sex is for marriage.” Exposure that they were having an actual sexual affair before they were “married” (I have no idea how that would be proven) would suggest to me their motives swing much further to the sex and money side of the pendulum versus the apocalyptic prepper, “hide-the-kids-for safety” side. Moo

I am from the exact same generation and the experience of me and my friends is largely different. I will say again, things are different among LDS in Utah compared to elsewhere. It can even be different among different communities, (SLC vs. Provo, for example). But perhaps "passive" is the wrong word. While LDS women are typically well- educated, it is also true that they are taught that Priesthood holders (the men) are to be followed, trusted and believed. However, the Church also teaches that women are to be respected, honored and even revered for their importance in the family structure. Sadly, that isn't always what happens. Again I will say I do NOT think that is the case here. I'm sorry but we will need to agree to disagree and understand that everyone experiences things differently. My own experiences differ wildly from yours.

It is easy to put people in a box of generalizations, and tempting, specifically for sleuthing purposes. But within any given population, personalities and dynamics vary, regardless of what is taught. Some people may act in certain ways at public and at church. I think this is done to “fit in with the culture” and I see it done. However, once home from church, the true dynamics come out, (every family situation will be a mixed bag) and it’s impossible to put everyone in a category. It’s also difficult to know the dynamics of a relationship unless you’re in that relationship. That said, Chad’s narrative about his revelation to go to Idaho and how reluctantly, Tammy agreed, leads me to believe he is “opinionated” ... to say the least. Moo

It just dawned on me that I keep our passports, original documents like marriage and birth cert, a small stash of multi-use meds like Aspirin and Benadryl, a list of various info (where the bank accounts are, medical info, etc.), an unexpired credit card that we never use, and quite a bit of cash...in a baggie in our safe. If we have to leave the house quickly, it's easy to grab.

I've never carried our bag around anywhere, but I've also never had my car and its contents seized by the police. If you're going to commit the crimes they may have committed, you probably should have a "Go Bag"...and maybe that was theirs?

Here's a snap of the FBI mobile command center from East Idaho News, linked up thread. Apparently it's parked behind the Rexsburg Police Department. This makes me so happy!
Times up Lori and Chad!

MOO.

I thought their comments were so interesting in light of the earlier statement from their son, Chad's brother, Matt, who obviously has been concerned about Chad's interests and behavior for a long, long time:
  • Matt Daybell tells EastIdahoNews.com he and Chad are five years apart and have not been close since childhood.
  • Matt and his wife, Heather, have lived in the Rexburg area for more than 15 years. Chad Dayell is his oldest brother, and Matt says they have not directly spoken to each other since Tammy Daybell’s memorial service in Rexburg on Oct. 23. “Since that time, I have texted Chad twice. Once, when I heard from a neighbor of his quick marriage to Lori Vallow, expressing to him my shock and dismay at this news,” Matt Daybell says. “Second, just recently, pleading with Chad to cooperate with authorities and reveal the whereabouts of his new stepchildren.”

  • “My immediate family has had little association with Chad the last many years due to our concerns with his religious claims and particular books he had chosen to publish, including his own,” Matt Daybell says. “We are deeply saddened at the recent events that have played out the last several months.”
(EDIT: Matt Daybell's statement was from January 10, 2020)
