The delay in hearing back on the autopsy is so frustrating, but I feel they are researching like crazy as they go along. Autopsy results can bring up some information early, but other types of information takes longer. Coupled with what we know about Alex' death, Alex' employment with a hazardous waste company. I am just thinking/hoping they are making sure to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. My wildest hope is that they have someway to go back and address JR's death too. Though so unlikely because of how/when he was found, and was cremated.
They haven't even released results of Alex' autopsy, and his was done on a fresh body, so they presumably were able to collect blood. Not sure what's cause the delay there?
He was fairly young too, I don't think he had serious health issues, and they got his body after he just died.

I think this is KSL trying to stay relevant. I think they used the word "exhumed" to catch attention. The Sheriff's Dept wouldn't use a news station from out of state to release the results. MOO
Agreed. IMO. I posted it too quickly. I have that google search thingy saved where I get e-mails whenever one of the names in this case come up in news articles. They definitely caught my attention. JMO

All these sites--Prezi, Roblox? Are these typical teenage sites, or school sponsored sites?? The Roblox site shows "friends"... I wonder if any of them have spoken up at all???

I don't know anything about Prezi, but Roblox is a popular game website for kids and teens and it has a chat feature that could be used to talk to anyone. There have been parental warnings and various complaints about about Roblox in the news:
'I thought he was playing an innocent game'
Mum's warning as girl runs up £1,450 bill on Roblox in three days
School warns over two online games

Autopsy results for Tammy are obviously available, because autopsy (examination of the body and internal organs) was done a long time ago. What is presumably pending is toxicology. But it's possible I guess somebody could have gotten their hands on the results of the autopsy itself.

You have to wonder if he reads the media reports, Twitter, etc. and finally sees how they're viewed by 99% of the population? It would be daunting to know you're one of the most hated people in the country right now.
Yeah, I doubt he will ever be able to set foot in a church setting again for the rest of his life. Lori? She is likely getting life!

They both went to church in Hawaii though, as though nothing had happened. They even spoke to other people while there. I think Chad might still want to present himself as a regular member of the LDS church. His writer friend who was excommunicated last year reportedly still goes to church.

I'm glad you posted it. It's a new piece, focused on Tammy and they promise new information. It might contain new details about the investigation into her death or circumstances, though not necessarily the full autopsy results.

IIRC they were videotaped going in / out of church... making a spectacle... and that was before the arrest and this story really blew up. I don't think he/they will be seen in public much if at all any more. We'll see. Turns out Rexburg isn't giving them the welcome wagon they thought they would get!

ETA: His writer friends, PTZ, AVOW and PaP friends may still go to church but you know there is going to be a growing buzz and unease about their dabbling in NALDS // "New Age LDS", ie: Energy healing, Multiple Mortal Probations, Translated beings, NDE, Beyondo The Veilo, Doomsday clock at 11:59 pm. The Daybell's found a unique way to advertise to the world the wonders of these new frisky tricks.

I would think, with 3 defense attorneys engaged (leak or no leak), they would advise her about the pro's and con's of making bail. The preliminary hearing is 10 days away, if they are confident (and I don't know why they would be) that the charges get dismissed, and the felony counts don't get bound over to district court, she would be out of jail (saving 80-100k). Alternatively, if they expect more charges, they may advise against depleting the limited resources that will likely be required to fight future charges. In the event, the prosecution prevails (and all they need to do is prove probable cause) and it get's bound over to district court they could always post at that time. Lastly, she could choose to prove the children are alive and avoid much of this mess. She and Chad are between a rock and a hard place - right where LE wants them. MOO

Even through the preliminary hearing I expect the prosecution to only present enough evidence and witnesses to make the probable cause case and save the rest for trial. MOO
You know Chad's attorney has to be advising him to hold back in case he needs that money for defense. Unless Chad hid some of the life insurance money, they've gone through a good bit if you look at what they said his average daily balance was. $132k. She's hired 3 attorneys. Can't be cheap.[/QUOTE]

This has ended up to be one very expensive wedding. Wonder if the photographer has given Lori the full book of photos yet.

Oh, I thought of more. Add to list #2 above:

11. Info from BB's PI hired after the attempted shooting on Oct 2. The PI was hired to find Melani and the Jeep which belonged to Charles Vallow on Oct 13th. Tammy died on the 19th. While Chad may not have been involved in this plot on BB, if the PI was surveilling Lori (who had possession of the Jeep) those 5 days he may have info about Chad's movements and communications as well.

12. The 43 items that were collected from the Daybell home during the warrant, including “computers, cell phones, journals, documents and medications." We have no idea what is in all this evidence.

13. The content of the podcasts Chad did with Lori prior to Tammy's death. These have been removed from the public but LE could obtain them with a warrant and the fellow podcasters, whom we haven't heard from in the media, may have incriminating knowledge of Lori and Chad's interactions while not recording. At the very least, we know Melani Gibb is cooperating.

14. Chad's message board postings and communications with his friends online both before and after Tammy's death. Even if those in the "cult" are loyal to Chad and not talking, the things he wrote to others on private forums or private messages can be obtained with warrants and may come back to bite him.

15. Chad's church membership status and/or things he told members of his church before and after Tammy's death. He either stepped down from his calling or was asked to leave it after his marriage to Lori. While clergy may be allowed to keep a confidence under the law, that doesn't apply to volunteer church workers or fellow members. Chad would have interacted with several people in Springville and Rexburg just to plan Tammy's funeral and memorial. Those interactions could be witness testimony if there was anything unusual about his behavior or requests. And if he didn't interact with people he would be expected to, but had one of his kids or someone else make all the arrangements that could also be telling.

16. Testimony from Tammy's family members. We know Chad lied to Tammy's family about Lori's children. Did he tell any lies to Tammy's family about her death? At the very beginning of this case it was reported that Tammy had a "4 hour autopsy" when she died. That turned out to be bad info and it turned out Tammy didn't have a first autopsy at all. It could have simply been a media error in reporting. But what if it was a lie from someone who would not want Tammy's family to know that he declined an autopsy? Any attempts to cut Tammy's family off from her kids and blame her family for the police investigation, may also be revealing.

MOO.
I am printing this whole list... just to see what matches up as we get some drip. drip. drip. With an absense of truth about the kids... circumstantial evidence is quite refreshing actually.

And the latest subpoenas from JJ's elementary school in Rexburg, and resort and landlord in Kauai. The information from Kauai may be very revealing. Jmo
my mind is kindof blown right now..thinking of all this legal and circumstantial stuff.... what do you think might be revealing from Kauai??

Whether or not he has been excommunicated isn't an issue here. He'd be welcomed to attend church although there are certain things he would be considered not eligible to participate in and if he was excommunicated he would receive a calling (aka volunteer assignment). But, in theory, if he wanted to, he could go through a repetance process and at some point in the future (I think at least a year after excommunication) be rebaptized and from an official viewpoint be considered a member in good standing, I think.

Actual active and devout members might have some subtle refinements to what I've said, but for the most part I'm sure all of that is correct.

We haven't heard anything to indicate Chad went to church yesterday. I suspect we would have. Maybe Lori is the one who is driving church attendance on Sundays. :)

I didn't see if this article was posted in the discussion threads yet:

Now that bail is reduced, will Lori Vallow-Daybell get out of the Idaho jail?

8 Mar 2020

[...]

A bail bond agent, who’s not involved with that arrangement, broke down what it would take:

  • $1 million in home equity
  • $80,000 in cash, nonrefundable
Supporters may be pulling together to put their homes on the line, said Angie Proulx of Bronco Bail Bonds in Boise.

[...]

Another way to secure her release, according to Proulx, is what’s called a property bond. Attorneys and judges work out the details -- $1 million in equity in Idaho property is still required, but Vallow-Daybell would avoid the $80,000 charge. The process takes two to four weeks, Proulx said.

Of course, she could also put up $1 million in cash.

Now that bail is reduced, will Lori Vallow-Daybell get out of the Idaho jail?

BBM. I was assuming that if she hadn't made bail by now she would likely be staying in jail but if Chad has enough property owners who are willing, he might be working on the above plan to get Lori out. Making a note for future reference: 2 weeks after her initial hearing would be Mar 20 and the day after her Preliminary Hearing scheduled for Mar 18-19. If they rush paperwork through somehow we could potentially see her make bail right before the hearing. 4 weeks after the initial hearing would be Apr 3rd. I wonder if info at a prelim hearing could affect bond or if it will stay the same and she could still bond out afterward? I hope that prelim trial info somehow leads to Lori being held for trial with no bond unless she tells where JJ and Tylee are located, but I don't know how feasible that is to hope for. I also don't know if Idaho laws allow that for the charges she is currently facing. Any thoughts?

I think you can sleuth all you want, you just can't bring what you find here. It's fun looking up all the players.

If this question is out-of-bounds, somebody tell me, and I'll do a quick-delete....

In "looking up all the players" on the periphery of this case, has anyone come across one with a criminal history, or maybe just someone with the same name who has a criminal history? Someone who is not a named suspect or victim and therefore not on the list of people we can really talk about (at this point)... ?

Yes, IIRC he quit going in Rexburg after Tammy's passing..? And while it's been established she likes the public drama, (even in the courtroom smirking and smiling as she gets slammed with a $1m bail) him, apparently not so much. I can't imagine what the public pressure feels like. People holding signs demanding answers from you, where ever you go, even online and in all the news.

BBM what does “keep your powder dry” mean? I have never heard that phrase before and now, here at WS, I’ve heard it twice. TIA

ETA I know what it means in the context of the sentence. I’m wondering where this phrase comes from.
ha! ha! yeah, there is the gun origin... but I think it became more colloquial to tell a woman not to cry about something. Reminds me of another powder phrase. When I moved to the South, people would say rather rudely "just take a powder". This comes from these little packets of of pain killing powder that you can buy in stores down here!!
