I could see their narcissistic @**'s having pamphlet lol o_O

I am confused about how to take this information. He sounds like a sweet guy that rushed into a marriage and suddenly had all this information and beliefs dumped onto him. Who in their right mind gets married after knowing someone for a few days and sits there on their wedding night and talks about zombies and portals??! It isn't making sense. The way he wrote his side of things sounds odd. He would not have given his computer to his ex wife without being sure that stuff was off there. He has more experience with computers than Lori so saying he didn't clear out his recycle bin doesn't make sense.
I am sure he left it there on purpose for her to find. I just don't know if he did it to tell his side and what he knew, knowing it would get out to the public, so he made it sound like he was siding with Melani after he "confessed" to her that he had spoke to LE and had a recording device. Or if he is just trying to make himself sound like the gullible idiot. Kind of like what Chad is doing. He wrote that knowing Natelie would find it and release it eventually. It talks about zombies and slugs and absolute nonsense. Maybe they wrote it so they can tell their followers that people only believe what the government tells them and blah blah?
These are men that believe in polygamy and having many wives after death so I doubt they are blind and being taken advantage of by these "pretty ladies".
Something isn't right about these. Hopefully I put my thoughts together well enough for y'all to understand.
I think IP was going to be victim number 4 regarding the life insurance scam. That is the reason for the quick marriage. How did he and MBP meet? This document, if written by IP, is incredibly detailed for someone who had only known MBP for not even a month. Natalie discovered it early December IIRC. How long has he known Chad?

ETA I see that the computer was given to Natalie in February so I need to check the December date.

I think the confusion comes because she would have been 17 at the time she was discovered missing, but since then it has been confirmed that the last sighting of her was before her 17th birthday.
The confusion comes from all the twists and turns in this case lol

Thanks - and phew!

So it states they couldn't "reveal more information without disclosing privileged attorney-client communications"

Does that sound like a financial reason, or something else?

My guess is... "something else". JMO

I have been a little behind in asking this question- apologies... did I read correctly in the documents that they all believe in Dungeons &Dragons and Harry Potter's magic? Sounds like a bunch of early teens/ teenagers making that shizz up... What the actual h#@l.....

That does sound like Melani was definitely brainwashed. My guess is that it sounds like she was gaslighted a lot. She is doubting her own reality, and doesn't know what to believe.

I sincerely hope she gets some professional counseling.

MOO
BBM. Unfortunately she's probably being counseled by Alex's widow.

The money for Tylee and JJ was based on their fathers' entitlements. It wasn't government money.

I think she (Lori) was receiving gov't money for the care of the children. I don't have links... can someone help me out with this info??

LVD was receiving social security checks in care of her minor children, on behalf of their dead fathers, CV and JR.

Yeah, something else. Not sure what, though.

IIRC, didn't the prosecutor say she was receiving social security benefits for the kids? Or something to that effect? Sorry, my brain is still mush after the document dump yesterday.

Yeah, something else. Not sure what, though.

Last time I used that kind of language it was because I had developed the strong impression that my client was falsifying evidence. But there are lots of possible scenarios.

There's so much to keep up with in this case... and it increases (and it's usually bizarre info). Tough on my ol' noggin.

Exactly! I feel like I'm cramming for a final after not being present in class for the entire year. Information overload.

I
I have over 12 pages to read before I'll be caught up on the thread. But I have something to say at this time that I feel is important: in one or two prior threads and in this one, I feel some here may have crossed a line when describing some of the beliefs of Chad and Lori, et al.

Firstly, let me say that I am not defending ANY of their beliefs - nor do I share any, for that matter. I also know that we aren't to discuss any religious beliefs; I respect that rule and very much welcome it. I do hope the mods will understand and not delete my post. If it is deleted, or even if I am banned, so be it - I feel strongly enough to risk it.

Given the recent documents released, I feel safe saying that CD and LVD's beliefs clearly stray far from any real, or known, religious or spiritual beliefs. However, in looking at their views as a whole, there actually are some things they believe that many would consider legitimate. For instance, reincarnation. Just as it is incorrect to describe their views as simply "Mormon", it is also wrong to describe their beliefs as simply "new age". Religious and spiritual beliefs are much, much more complex and far-ranging than that, and should not be compared to what CD and LVD are into. In another place online, not here, I've seen meditation, yoga and mindfulness described as crazy and dangerous. However psychiatrists, therapists, addiction counselors and other medical professionals recommend these to people suffering from depression, anxiety and even chronic pain.

As someone who has worked in healthcare 20-some years (and benefited from learning mindfulness and doing yoga), it is real a shame that some will continue to see yoga or meditation that way. But what is far more upsetting to me is to see certain spiritual or new age practices, or beliefs like reincarnation, described here as crazy, wacky voodoo or BS - even if you think they are. Some people think that Christian and Mormon beliefs are unbelievable, crazy BS, but they would never be allowed to post that opinion here - as well they shouldn't. Ideally we should allow others to believe whatever it is we want to believe, though we may not like it. From what I've read about the PaP type groups, there are hundreds or even thousands of people who share some of the beliefs as LVD and CD. Not all of these people believe the same specific things. And, no matter one may feel about where they belong in regards to the LDS church, these people are not murderous psychopaths.

Chad and Lori's beliefs are fair game. The ideas they have put forth (and have used to manipulate their friends and family members) are dangerous and murderous and sick. These beliefs have led to violence and specific harm that cannot be undone. I have a feeling, actually, that it was far less their beliefs that brought out their revolting behavior, and much more that they are greedy and callous, delusional and sociopathic.

I am a fan of every poster here. There is no one here that I disagree with all the time. I would never want to insult or start any issue with someone here, nor would I judge someone (a stranger on the internet) because of one post. I'm not asking anyone to change their opinions or beliefs. And I don't make the rules here; please feel free to ignore any and all of this if you disagree. Everything I've stated is my opinion only.

The crimes we are discussing here are harrowing and heartbreaking. I'm so grateful that I have been able to experience following this story with such a fantastic group. I hope we can all find some comfort in that. And no matter what you believe or don't, I wish you all peace and joy.
I agree with you whole heartedly, and I hope and feel that the majority of conversation about religion here has been to try to pinpoint what could cause two seemingly responsible adults to go so far off the rails that their chosen religion (in this case an offshoot of LDS , but it could be Buddhism, Hinduism...anything) has possibly devolved into murder. To me, all of the religious discussion here has been to try and come to that understanding. How do two people who are pious (Lori questionably and seemingly when it’s convenient for her , but Chad certainly by appearance) throughout their lives get to the point where they can justify POSSIBLY murdering JJ and Tylee. And that’s what it comes down to. Did these two people murder two children (or have them murdered) based on their perceived interpretation of their chosen religion in combination with their own narcissism and lust for each other? It seems that there is a healthy and diverse group of people here with robust and divergent spiritual beliefs. I hope and feel that whatever the beliefs of my fellow posters, whether they be LDS, Protestant, Atheist, Wiccan, Muslim or New Age, that we can all discern that whatever muck Chad and Lori have come up with it’s not...normal. It is either so destructive that two kids are dead or they are hidden and probably permanently scarred from the experience (which I so wish to be true but doubt at this point)! I hope this rambling has made a bit of sense. I’m stressed (like everyone right now!) , have had a bit too much wine and am trying to put my muddled thoughts into coherent sentences. Not sure it’s working.

That expert guest also thinks Lori believes the world is ending in July. I'm no expert but I disagree.

I don’t think it was smuggled. I think it was planted.

Planted by who? Are we going over words such as my use of smuggling? For all I know it's the wrong usage. Jmo
