Melani acknowledges that the beliefs that Charles accused Lori of having were false. She's seems to be aware they are outside of what the LDS church deems acceptable and is trying to disassociate Chad's group from them. Her reaction is to question Charles' claims.

MP: The initial light-dark was this document Charles brought over to our home when he was kind of being aggressive toward Lori. This document floating around that JJ is so many points light and Tylee is so many points dark and other family names on there. Trying to process what that means in our faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It talks about light vs. dark and as you create positivity in your life, you try to be like our savior, you try to increase your light.
As you are listening to more negative things, inviting negative things in your life. It’s less light. That’s kind of how I explain it and understand it to my knowledge.

Apparently Charles brought Chad's October 2018 letter to Lori about Lori's family light/dark ratings to Melani's home. I wonder when this happened. Brandon must have been thrilled. Did Tylee ever see the document?
Melani isn't rejecting the content (makes it part of the LDS beliefs), so instead she tries to explain the logic behind negative ratings.

She said she first met Chad in the fall of 2018. Her marriage was on the rocks by June 2019, presumably because of her involvement with Chad and Lori's group. IMO she knew about Lori and Chad's connection from the start.

Imo it’s a gross overstretch. Chad’s teaching sound like a mix between dungeons and dragons, mythology, family history, and reincarnation. She definitely knows more than she wants others to believe. All jmo

forgot to mention, I think it should be clear by now that sadly, as long as Ian is leashed to Melani, there will be no truth, or even good sense or logic, to be found in his post-Melani-aware statements. We had might as well write them all off, because nothing he says will make sense if he’s dancing around trying to make 2 women with diametrically opposed goals happy.

I keep hoping that Barry and his PR company are reading our threads.

It's not only personal. They believe that an injury makes one more susceptible for being overtaken by an evil spirit. That's why they predict that a large number of possessions will occur after an earthquake.

I'm sure Melani and Ian think they did a good job presenting their (Lori's) side.

I would agree 100%. I think this was all a ruse.

The thing that really struck me, is Melani's reaction when questioned on how she felt being recorded? She seems to just sweep that under the rug, like it's no big deal. You could tell she was lying her A$$ off. Anyone that was being genuine, would have been seriously pissed off, and it would have shown. Her body language looked very uncomfortable while she was trying to downplay this too.

I seriously think that MP and IP are up to their eyeballs in this, and knew each other for a lot longer than they claim.

I can't give any more views to the people who are giving a forum to someone who keeps insisting there's nothing off if you don't see your cousins who live next door, when you are seeing your aunt who lives next door with them. The children never popped in on Melani when she moved in there, Melani never spotted JJ paying in the courtyard, nobody ever took a walk in the neighborhood...the only time anyone spotted anybody else it was ONLY the adults.

Agreed. And I feel bad for the families who have to deal with this. Like IP’s ex wife and children, MP’s dad, CD’s children, etc. What a nightmare for all of them.

I don't doubt for a moment that Melani was given an explanation from Lori about the kids' whereabouts. And it wasn't that they were with friends, because that would only work a couple of times and not for a whole month. Wasn't Lori in Hawaii getting married in early November? Where did Melani think Lori's kids were during that time? On the other hand, if Melani suspected that the kids were dead the whole time, why did she wait until early December, after the call from (presumably) MG to relay her fears to Ian? In the last interview we learn that MG was told incriminating stuff (zombies) by Lori. Now both Melani and Ian are trying to cast doubt into MG's story. I wish MG had receipts.

There were plenty of opportunities for Melanie to pick up the phone and call Granny Janis or Summer and ask "Hey have you or anyone in the fam seen Lori's kids? Who's watching them while she's on this planned trip to Kauai?" Or to walk next door and ask Alex "Hey, I haven't seen Lori's kids since I arrived. When did you last see them?"

I think I'm having a lot of difficulty with this, because Melani's subtext has got to be: "Just because a mother hasn't seen her children for months and months doesn't mean she's not an amazing mother."

This is just so crazy to me, ALL of it! MP says she can’t wait for Lori to have her day in court to be able to defend her case. She wouldn’t have to wait until her “day” in court to tell where the children are!! She would still have to defend her current charges, I’m sure, but it certainly doesn’t prohibit her from telling where these kids are.

It’s ludicrous to say she’s doing this now because of threats. The secret is out now about these supposed threats, so now would be the safest time for the kids, IMO.
