Does anyone else remember these text messages shared by Justin Lum back in March? Apparently they are texts from Ian to his ex Natalie and discuss Melani’s knowledge about the attempt to murder Brandon. Very interesting, to say the least, after hearing her in the three-art video series by EastIdahoNews recently. (Sorry in advance - the originals were not great quality)
I am curious why her "Uncles" wanted her to go to Ammon ??
What is there?? A bunker house?? JJ and Tylee ??
Not that I believe they are still alive, I hate to say it, but I don't think they are still alive.

I know IP claims to met have met MP through a dating app. But when he says “he has always known who she is”, it sounds like he knew her longer than the time frame they are giving people. Either IP and MP don’t know the correct way to use “always” or the timelines they give aren’t correct. All jmo
I believe they met shortly after MP met CD, JMO
This has been all part of the plan, I think, and has all been in the works most of 2019.

I thought it was Ammon would be in a different district, so someone else/new would be the investigating agency.

There are probably no dark translated beings among the local police in Ammon.

Clearly Melani is lying and Ian is going along for the ride. I see Ian as the weaker link. Big question for me is: What does Melani have to gain by being Lori's door mat?

I believe it has been said that Ammon is an important site in fringe LDS prophecy (IMO, MOO, JMO).

I also don’t know how my interpretation fits with the ‘Uncles’, because I thought the ‘Uncles’ were unbelieving meanie-means Charles and AdC.? Unless Ian, too, is confused.

She gains a family, something she really craves. It’s how she’s easily manipulated.

What a huge price to pay. Amazing! Wonder what it will take for her to eventually spit out the truth. Someone will have to severely betray her, most likely....a big hurt.

So nonchalant, like in the part when he says that he didn't think much of it when he learned that (presumably) Melani was accused of trying to kill her ex. If crazy doesn't phase him, then he's right at home in that family.

Ian: "There are just crazy things that happen and you don’t really think much of it, so when you hear people say ‘Oh this person tried to kill me’ or accused me of trying to kill them or this guy died for this reason, I guess it kind of sounds crazy not to give it a second thought, but you know, I know people have crazy things happen in their lives. So, I didn’t really think much of it."

Lori Vallow's niece talks about missing kids, FBI and her family's role in bizarre case
either he doesn't have a brain in his head or he is in this up to his eye balls.

that statement is so deflective imo the later.

Lori's approval as a "mother" figure with bonus added family members.

These people are so beyond bizarre! Their lives and movements read like a crazy made up game.

From my experience, and what I've seen only. At a younger age, in your 20's it seems that there is a lot of pressure to get married fast. It's rare that I saw anyone get married that fast though.

The older you get, the less this becomes an issue, at least in my experience, although there seems to be more of a desperation among some to get married. This maybe due to hearing that families can be together forever, every time you go to church. You'll hear this over, and over again, where if you are single, you feel like there is something wrong with you. I digress.

However, the odd thing to me, is that they got married in Vegas. That really stands out to me.

Most active members in good standing, actually will refuse to get married civilly, and choose instead to get married & sealed in a local temple instead. The belief is to get sealed to families forever, which is extremely important in the LDS religion. This obviously requires that both the man and woman are worthy of entering the temple (I.e hold temple recommends)

Those that aren't worthy to get married in the temple (and who don't want to wait to work towards that goal) will typically choose to instead get married locally (i.e. Rexburg), in a local Chapel having your local Bishop preside. They still have the choice to work towards getting a temple marriage down the road.

Also, There is always at least one reception too. This is a huge deal here in Idaho. Never seen a wedding that doesn't have a huge reception. As far as I know, they never had one that I have heard about, very strange.

Vegas would have a negative connotation to it, and wouldn't make any sense. I've been to plenty of weddings over the years, but don't recall one of them being in Vegas.

What I do recall is years ago, BYU (Utah), cracked down on a bunch of students that were trying to be sneaky with religion. What they were doing is going to Vegas on the weekend to get married, having sex, then getting an annulment before going back to school a few days later. The Church got wind of this, and made sure that students understood this is not acceptable, and will not be tolerated. They were obviously breaking the Spirit of the Law, as the Church was pointing out.

Ever since then, Vegas weddings in the LDS religion have had a very negative light shed on them, probably for this reason. Plus, Vegas weddings are seen as a quickie marriage when you are eloping; that is the other time I have heard of getting married in Vegas.

What strikes me as odd, is Melani, Lori, and the rest of this group come off as wanting everyone to believe that they are very active in their religion, and are held in high regard. Yet, they all have these quick weddings that aren't even in a church, let alone a temple? There are no guests, no receptions, and they all happen super fast.

Something feels very off to me.

MOO

Yes all 3 marriages in the month of November. July, Charles was shot and I believe Melani got divorced. August, Alex, Lori, Tylee and JJ move to Rexburg, September, Tylee and JJ disappear, October, Brandon, murder attempt, Tammy paintball incident and death, November, Melani moves to Rexburg, all 3 couples get married.

Melani sure talks about talking to Chad a lot for only having been in the same town for what, a little over a month? It's frequently, "Chad and Lori say this," "talking to Chad and Lori about that... " How well could she have gotten to know him in the brief amount of time that they overlapped in Rexburg?

I maintain that these interviews are primarily about making Ian and Melani look better for their own custody cases. Their lawyers have no obligation to make Lori look blameless, just to make IP and MP out to be clueless to any nefarious activity.
It doesn't work though. It makes them look clueless that they did not notice JJ and Tylee around or ever speak to them and it does not make them very good candidates for their own child custodians, if neither saw or questioned what had become of Tylee and JJ. Melanie is way more talkative about Lori and Chad, more than she is concerned or questioning about her missing cousins. I think she knows where they are. I don't think Ian knows though, he is just mesmerised by Melani.

DBM. Left out quote. Will repost with quote included.

Never mind, I see someone has already addressed that "Ammon" is both the name of a place (near Idaho Falls) as well as the name of a person.

MP "I had a little sister up there going to school, a brother that lived a couple hours away"
Wait, what? She said in the first interview that she's an only child and her mother was unable to have more children after MPs birth
Half-siblings? JMO

As others have posted, I’m still curious about money. How is Chad paying monthly expenses? Did his publishing business just go kaput after the death of his wife? How are Melani and Ian paying their monthly expenses? All of the people above (and I’ll add Lori to this) have attorneys, either active (child custody cases) or on retainer (Chad). Add in all the travel and moving in the past year.

Melani has nothing to gain by standing by Lori. Look at what she’s already lost for these crazy beliefs. She’s all in. Absolutely believes all of Chad’s horse 🤬🤬🤬🤬. No matter what.

I really have to believe that there are third parties involved in supporting these players based on their lack of resources. It would also fill in a lot of holes in this improbable story. It could be family (which don't seem to pay taxes) or some other supportive group. JMO
