I didn't know what to make of it when I first saw it either. Chad came into some money recently so replacing some old furniture would not necessarily be too suspicious. Then again, people don't usually dispose of a bunch of household items.
Regarding spring cleaning, I would think that would be done after the snow is gone and the ground has dried out. Is that the case there now or is it muddy still?
I'm not trying to be argumentative about this, I'm still willing to be wrong, but I just have to point out that once you get past the first items which are things like individual song lyrics from each of the songs in the musical Saturday's Warrior, and a few stripling warrior items (I was surprised to see more than one or two, but let's be honest, most of those things are just lame money grabs), this search also pulled every item for Star Wars, Warren Buffet, and apparently the term Ward, which is the LDS word for congregation. So, I just don't think the number 453 should be taken as any sort of representation. The true number is probably <75, and then you have to subtract about 20 for all the songs in Saturday's Warrior![]()
This is a great summation, just wanted to make it clear to those not familiar with Mormon vernacular that you begin to wear garments after you're "endowed". Once endowed, it is totally possible to wear the garment without a current recommend--say your recommend expired and you couldn't get a new one, possibly for years, many would still wear the garments that entire time. There are also personal reasons (most often health issues) one would not wear the garments that do not preclude you from being a temple recommend holder. So, although the two are linked, they are not necessarily a direct indicator of anything.
URGENT- PLEASE HELP TO KEEP WEBSLEUTHS RUNNING ...
- Right now there are over one hundred members online and 445 guests . I know that @Tricia is too polite to keep asking but I’m bumping this post because WEBSLEUTHS is an amazing site and just its presence in my life at a difficult time, got me through! I was able to lose myself in WS . Like the 445 guests right now, I was a lurker , a watcher and see what happens for a long time before I took the courage to sign up. Guys and Gals - WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THIS SITE . Please, only if you are able, consider donating. Every $1 matters and if all 445 of you lurkers only ever gave this $1 right now, you are still having WS in your life for as long as you want it. Even if you can’t afford anything because of the extraordinary circumstances that the world finds itself in right now, that’s ok. But because of COVID 19, this beloved site is at critical because of lost revenue yet @Triciastill has to pay the bills . So please if you are able to afford anything at all, no matter how large or small , please consider donating. One member mentioned that the link to donate wasn’t the preferred method. If that’s the case then post on here for Tricia’s or a mods attention or message them . But either way, please , if you can , help WS to stay up and running. We are a community here , almost family like . I for one couldn’t not have WS in my life. Peace to all and stay safe.
Yes, the grounds are usually accessible daily. Temples are not open for worship or visiting Sundays or Mondays. I agree, if what CV said about LV is true, it does shed light on her apparent devotion.So. Lori was going to the Temple daily. While that doesn't necessarily mean she has a temple recommend (I think you can access parts of it no matter what) it still shows the importance placed on Temples. Jmo
I agree. A recommend allows one past the waiting room and front desk. Again, it is a card with a bar code on it to be scanned at the desk. If it scans as invalid, no entry for that person. She would need a recommend if she was going anywhere in the temple. If she was going to a visitor center instead (possible) she would not need one. Also imo possible going to the temple was a cover for other things. Also imo possible she had a temple recommend and was going about her own ideas. She may be that conniving. All jmo
I agree. She could have just been going to the temple grounds every day. It is very beautiful, and has palm trees, flowers, water features, etc., the kind of environment she seems to enjoy. She could pray all she wants there, to whomever she chooses. Moo.
Yes I forgot that option. Thank you! This is a possibility as well. Idk if we’ll get a true answer to this question. There still seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding Lori despite all we know. Jmo
Wouldn't Lori and Charles have Temple Recommends?
In the newly released bodycam video from the night Charles returned to find his truck missing etc, it looks like he is wearing "Mormon Garments" and he mentions to the LEO that his bishop is on scene. That bishop is Gabe Bonilla apparently IMO
Chad and Tammy would also have Temple Recommends IMO given Chad's position because he held some position in his ward and they were married in the Temple, also MOO
Temple garment - Wikipedia
ETA this quote (Because a temple recommend is an individual and personal thing, confirming someone has or doesn’t have one becomes tricky. You can have one but it needs renewed from time to time. It’s also possible to have a recommend and lose the privileges, meaning you are no longer worthy. You can choose to work back to renew one. But you can still be endowed despite losing privileges to the temple.
As far as if Lori and Chad still we’re current recommend holders at the time of their marriage is unknown. Unless you are their bishop or stake president or they confirm themselves it’s unclear on their standing.
All jmo.
Edit to add: you can hold callings in a ward with or without a temple recommend.
)Generally agree with you both on what you've said, but will add that I think it would be very hard to be a ward executive secretary, as Chad was until his new marriage, without a temple recommend. There are some callings where a temple recommend is required, and I believe this is among them.
Absolutely. And cessation of wearing the garment is only required at excommunication. Otherwise, it is often recommended to continue to wear it if repentance is likely to be helped by the daily reminder of covenants made. This is a great summation, just wanted to make it clear to those not familiar with Mormon vernacular that you begin to wear garments after you're "endowed". One theory in the case of Lori Vallow's missing children has to do with a small piece of Yellowstone National Park that's been nicknamed "the Zone of Death."

Search For Lori Vallow's Children Focuses On Yellowstone's 'Zone Of Death'
A theory circulating on social media about a so-called "Zone of Death" could shed light on why Tylee Ryan was last seen at Yellowstone National Park.

I don't think Lori will ever be charged for Charles' murder. We already know Alex did the deed. I think Lori may have set him up but I doubt any convincing evidence will ever be found. I think all the speculation that Tylee witnessed something and that is why she is gone actually points to Lori's innocence in a conspiracy. If they conspired to set things up Tylee would not have been there. Lori would have found a way for her to be elsewhere. JJ is simply not a reliable witness, no because he is autistic but because he is too young to comprehend situations. So we are left with Alex's confession and no further evidence. That's reasonable doubt. As I said before, any evidence of Alex and Lori being together, communicating and so forth is easily explained. The only exception would be if there is email/text evidence and the content implicates her.

Ordinance rooms within the Temples are routinely checked. Patrons are not allowed to use sacred rooms for whatever purpose they design, but ordinances performed typically allow ample time for one to carry out their own thoughts and ideas silently. I agree it may have also been cover for other things.
I agree.

Yes, and recommends are now valid for two years unless canceled due to known or confessed unworthy behavior. Such behavior would also most likely cause the individual release from administrative callings such as ward secretary. CD was not released until a few weeks after his departure from the ward.

Because am endowment is a sacred thing there are some things we can’t share. This comes from the church’s website which gives a great overviewBut what is "endowed" actually ????
No. That is incorrect. CD left the ward shortly after TD's memorial service in Rexburg. The following Sunday (Oct 27) was Stake Conference and no regular ward meetings were held. Next Sunday was Nov 3rd. He was absent from the ward, but not released from his calling as Executive Secretary. He was released in absentia in December (see: ID - ID - Joshua Vallow, 7, & Tylee Ryan, 17, Rexburg, Sept 2019 #8 and ID - ID - Joshua Vallow, 7, & Tylee Ryan, 17, Rexburg, Sept 2019 #6) and shortly thereafter his records were removed from the directory app. As he was clearly married to Lori on Nov 5th, he held the position until after the marriage.I thought he was removed from his exec secretarial position ...a good while before new marriage to Lori??? I thought that we had had a lot of communication about his probably excommunication, though there would be no way to know about that for sure.
In general, an endowment is a gift. In LDS Temple terminology, it means that one has been given spiritual gifts and knowledge through a ceremony wherein covenants are made and expectations of the use of those gifts and knowledge are outlined. We don't talk about the particulars and substance of those, but in general they are to prepare one for entrance into the afterlife with Heavenly Father. But what is "endowed" actually ????
WHERE does a person donate on this site?
ETA: I see. For those who wish to donate and are able, go to Tricia’s name and there are links to donate in her signature area.
You have to have a recommend to do pretty much anything at the temple. Unless she was just going onto the grounds (meaning, the grass outside, or to walk on the sidewalk), but that's not what it sounded like to me. You would only expect to "speak" (commune/pray) with God/Jesus/anyone unearthly inside certain places in the temple. Even most who work at the temple are usually only there max a few times a week. Going daily is very unusual, and if she'd been doing that for years or months?? Most of what goes on inside takes a couple hours, it would be such a huge time commitment with children it's mind boggling.
It speaks of zealotry or scrupulosity (MOO).
ETA official wording: "those who do not have a current temple recommend are welcome on temple grounds, and most temples have a room where they can wait while family members are being sealed." But literally this room is just that--a waiting room. No one would go in to just sit there, you would be expected to be waiting for others to come out of whatever they were doing, and sitting in there daily, there's almost zero chance. There are workers everywhere asking you where you're headed so they can show you where to go, you would not go unnoticed.
