People who take bodies somewhere often go to a place they're familiar with even if it's quite a distance away. It's part of their "comfort zone." @margarita25 knows a lot more about this than I do.

Although we did see Chad in the storage unit moving the kids' bikes there, it's possible that all he did was plot but left all the dirty work to others. He was the leader after all. Perhaps not even Lori knows where exactly the kids were taken. Maybe that knowledge died with Alex.

That is indeed possible. My only point was that I thought it was possible he might have taken a body to the town and cemetery he was familiar with. It's not really that long a drive. Around 4 hours if I recall correctly.

To me the big mystery I am curious about is why did Chad go to AZ on the 19th? The only people in AZ within their little group would be MelaniBP and Alex, right? Good catch about Chad walking the track with MG and Lori, this means he could not have been in AZ very long maybe a day or 2 max. Is it a coincidence MG coming up and a quick trip to AZ by Chad at the same time? What was he doing there?

Chad was connected to ZulemaP and JasonM who are in AZ at that time, I think.

He said he was helping someone with a remodel. Was Chad handy?

The PAP website used to offer the viewing of "FREE Dreams & Visions 5 hr. Course with a 72 page Downloadable Curriculum" for joining. I wonder if Chad was teaching that course.

There was a "Book of Mormon Evidence and Universal Science Model" event held on Sept 21, with several guest speakers. According to one of the unpaid guest speakers at that event (a man who is now running for representative of one of Idaho's legislative districts and who says he is not a member of PAP), the event was promoted by PAP and was held at a Rexburg middle school and about 150+ attended (with capacity for 200).

ETA: Slight correction of title of speaking event.

Although the "Universal Science Model" people have presented at PAP events which included Chad and other extreme preppers (or, in this case, an event in which they were the sole attraction), I have found no evidence that they are anything other than mainstream LDS or share any beliefs with Chad or other extreme preppers. FWIW.

I think we have proof that CD knows how to dig graves and work his body and get his mind off of messy things. (no disrespect meant toward these missing children). Gravedigging does explain a lot of the zombie infatuation to me however This twisted mind got an early start IMO

I’m definitely not an expert. But I think that’s why it’s been so easy for people who are more gullible to get caught up with extreme religious beliefs. The way some things are intertwined adds to confusion for them. All jmo

This link is to a book, an early (1884) publication associated with the LDS church (Deseret News). Within this book is the text of the vision that set off the whole "white tents in mountains" idea that all these prepper/visionary groups glom onto.
In addition to that entry there are FOUR articles about Yellowstone, describing different locations within the park. This to me, for some reason, sets of that "hinky meter" that is always talked about.
Another entry, and this just can't be coincidental, is titled "Reflections in the Graveyard". Although it is a somber poem, of completely different quality than Chad's schmucky book, the coincidental title is just.. bizarre.
Anyway, I was curious if anyone thinks that maybe Chad had access to these older church publications (of course he would) and he kind of got obsessed about parts of them (like the visions). What if he really wanted to retrace the steps of the past? What if he told Lori that she and the kids needed to go back to those places at Yellowstone for some reason? I am having a hard time articulating my thoughts adequately about this, but I was hoping someone else might help me comb through possible clues in the book about Yellowstone.

We know from Melanie Gibbs interviews that it wasn’t a custody thing with Kay. So if that’s true, what’s the point? Is it from this group of people? If that’s the case, from Nate Eaton’s last radio interview he said it wasn’t a large group maybe 7 people. Are these 7 people that dangerous? Are they all on the witness list for the preliminary hearing? Is there really more people that we don’t know about? All jmo

All interesting points. Imo it’s possible Chad has read these. I personally can’t speak for the obsessive behavior it’d take to want to relive the past. It would be odd behavior but idk these coincidences seem too much. Al jmo

Poems with titles about reflections in a (country) graveyard/churchyard/cemetery are widely popular. Hamlet reflects in a graveyard, though I don't think he uses that exact phrase. There's a group of British poets known as the Graveyard Poets. (Persian literature also has a "Graveyard School" but I'd be surprised if CD ever heard of that.) There's even a book called Grave Reflections that traces (Canadian?) history through cemeteries.

So that poem is in good company and a solid tradition of musing about death and morality. I can well believe Chad had encountered it but I don't think a normal person would have gone overboard about it. There's nothing inherently weird about it. You'd have to be really weird to go that direction--well, I guess he is, come to think of it.

Well... it is interesting to consider in relation to the first of their "7 Missions" . The article attached was written by someone who is connecting Chad and Lori's thoughts to the broader LDS subculture. And Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon in 1830, so your attachment was still in the early days.

The list as it appears in the document is as follows:

1. Translate ancient records
2. Write the book about the translation process
3. Identify locations in northeast Arizona for white camps
4. Presidency of the Church of the Firstborn
5. Help establish the food distribution as the tribulations start and the[n] delegate
6. Ordain individuals to translation as the camps begin
7. Provide supplies to righteous members of families

The first two missions, to “Translate ancient records,” and to “Write the book about the translation process,” clue us in to how Chad and Lori Daybell perceive themselves. Latter-day Saints acknowledge Joseph Smith, the founder of their faith, with the four-part title Prophet, Seer, Revelator, and Translator.

I keep thinking how can she possibly stay with this line anymore? Hiding them from who? Police, CPS, family members, the zombie apocalypse posse? Seriously, everyone is dead, arrested or under suspicion in their family except JJ's Grandparents. The only ones Lori doesn't want to have the children so she will make sure no one gets them ever.
