MOO it's an elected position, meaning Brenda Dye campaigned for the job and it's responsibilities. Apparently she is an EMT which is more than enough medical and legal training to know what to do, i.e. send the case to the medical examiner (the law you quoted) when a death is not attended by a physician.

Why did she let is slide?

Idaho has no Medical Examiner. The coroner's job is to notify the Sheriff. If the coroner thinks something is suspicious she can "summon a person authorized to practice medicine" to examine the body and give an opinion, but even then it doesn't have to be a trained pathologist or even a medical doctor.

To be clear, I don't like what happened with Tammy but I see it as the system failed. I am happy I live in a state with a Medical Examiner.

I'm glad Kay is safe, too. I watched the 3-part MG interview (with Nate?) today. She mentioned that CV had the $1mil life insurance, and that LVD had a $3mil policy. Would that have been a temptation for CV? Like keep her happily married to him, and since her kids are gone, and Alex is gone, maybe she'd put CD on her policy so HE would get the payout if she died? Of course, that's probably void now, but it made me wonder.

Also, CourtTV better be airing their trials live, when they happen!

I don't think Kay was ever in danger. She was the scapegoat that L and C kept blaming to cover their steps... Harm to them would have made the case blow up even more in the beginning--like Dec. They were waiting for the media frenzy to die down. ha ha.

I do think that's one of the compelling aspects to this case: LV is still very attractive, but she's no spring chicken, as they say. IMO a man who's just in it for the power trip and sex goes after a much younger woman. Also, a much younger woman doesn't come with the 'baggage' of children. Or, if he's calculating about money, he targets a rich widow or divorcee without children close to her. Plenty of those have come under the spell of a 'spiritual guide'.

That allows him to get on with his power building without having to resort to risky things like offing his wife and burying children's remains. So I'm inclined to believe he really did fall for LV.

Ugh.. sorry, you may not have too many choices if you are CD. I think he did pretty good on the looks department with LVD.

I understand what you mean now, thank you. It took me a few minutes before I worked out why someone might refer to Chad as MP's "uncle". Just lands a little weird for me, I guess, due to the brief period of time they've been married or that MP has even known him.

The podcast itself has been removed, but making out that where Chad moved to as a "vision" in 2015 is then published by this group as being "the promised land" to me is relevant to the escalation that Chad's "not a cult" is in fact more involved and have been cleaning up after themselves. By 2017 Chad's group is promoting his visions as being far more important than other people moving.

I think this has been posted before, and not removed. Well, that's my 2 cents.

There was a short live interview with the principle from JJ’s school in Rexburg week, I think it was on EIN and they were standing by the fence at the Daybell house.

IIRC, he said during the interview that LV unenrolled JJ at school because she said she got a new job and were moving to California.

Retrospectively, I believe MG and IP will be credited with helping move this case along. Both are unlikely, reluctant players with major flaws. But help is help, and it was hard to come by in the case.

Replying to your first sentence. I so agree. "Best Friends"?????. There is something wrong with this picture. Besides April in 2013 +, and Melanie G..... WHO really knew Lori at all.... That is a pretty weak pack of "best friends'

That's why I have a dedicated (stealth) social media account for cases such as these. There is a wealth of information on these individual's personal accounts.

Folks who are not on social media miss out on not just the posting but the many, many comments under the MSM accounts' social media posts.

thank you Satchie - these really aren't personal social media but were intended to be consumed by the public so I think should be public domain with no expectation of privacy and specifically intended to be seen by as many people as possible by the people who made them.

The only reliable source for Chad's beliefs and teachings are Chad's own social media and books. What other people say may be their own beliefs, or their misinterpretation of Chad's beliefs. If it's important, usually MM will fact-check and publish it, and then we can discuss it.

However, if you wish to discuss those kinds of things, I'm sure there are many other social media where you can post them. I find those places maddening because no one distinguishes reliable information, that comes from MM and LE, and unreliable information, such as gossip, rumour and personal theories, but some people go in for it. Watch out though, plenty of conspiracy theories thrive on those social media. You may find yourself drawn into somebody's cult.

Not meaning to be argumentative but is there a difference between a “notorious” liar and a regular liar? I believe she is vaguely accurate but not 100% forthcoming. There are convenient holes in her story that I think will eventually come out. How is it all these people just recently became distant. Not 100% believable.

That could be. I’ve been looking for the interview but I haven’t been able to locate it. The interview was either the evening the children were found or the next day. I thought he said he was an administrator from
Rexburg Schools and they were standing beside the fence outside of the Daybell home. He said JJ only attended the school for a very short time before LV unenrolled him.
