If Alex was murdered or committed suicide, it may have something to do with his part in the killing of Charles, the attempt on BB's life, Tammy's death or the missing kids. Charges could still be brought against live persons regarding conspiracy or other involvement concerning the death of Charles or the other potential or actual crimes. MOO.

At this point, I’d like to think some LE agency other than Chandler PD is looking at CV’s murder. I’d love to hear the FBI is including it in the scope of their investigation (whatever the reason they’ve been in ID). It would make me feel there’s a chance of getting to the bottom of it. I don’t know if Chandler PD is incompetent, shady or covering their collective backsides, but I have zero confidence the truth will ever be uncovered if it’s up to them. Zero.

Have we seen any evidence that FBI or Texas State investigators are sniffing around Chandler to investigate CV’s death?

I just need to state that CPS/APS DOES NOT consider re-homing a child with special needs to a neighbor and separating/hiding that child from his family child abuse or even neglect, and will not consider the fact that she has done so to be any sort of poor reflection on her parenting or choice of guardianship. He had already put this into the divorce documents and I wonder if he had provided copies of those texts to his lawyer? We know he told his lawyer about the threats to kill him and instructed him if he was killed then it would be Alex and Lori. That should be enough evidence even if the texts or recordings are not saved anywhere. In fact, did Chandler PD get a statement from Charles' lawyer about that I wonder? I did notice the statement pages numbers ran into the 80's so there has to be more statements.

The biggest problem I have is how Tylee got into a direct confrontation with Charles with the bat, yet Alex and Lori did nothing to intervene in any way. Even allowed it to become a back and forth struggle over the bat. Any parent or even uncle would have told her to put down the bat and / or go back to her room. Leave the fighting to the grownups.

Yes, like if it got so bad that your daughter was out there with a bat, just give Charles his damn phone back and end the fighting!

She strikes me as a liar and manipulative (amongst many other things) but not very intelligent. Maybe she didn’t realise it. Or worse maybe CV had got more evidence? It could have been that she wanted to read what her other brother had said to CV? Maybe he had told CV some stories of what she was really like? I do hope LE has interviewed him as the dynamics of them not getting on could be very enlightening. All MOO and pure speculation.

She was provoking him, wanting him to leave but preventing him by not giving his phone back, winding him up on purpose and putting Charles, Tylee and Alex in a difficult and dangerous situation, involving them in a very acrimonious relationship.

Why did Adam, after, according to Lori’s statement that they weren’t in touch for years, profusely thank Lori in a FB post on November 29th? Did she maybe pay off Adam to keep quiet? Why isn’t he talking to LE?

Do we know he isn’t talking to LE? He may have but just being quiet about it. Has it been reported anywhere that Adam isn’t talking? I know it’s been said that her parents and MB aren’t. MOO

One of the Fox 10 news videos says metal bat, I don't see that detail in the police reports. LV says she watched CV hitting her brother in the head with a metal baseball bat, with a phone in her hand, but didn't call the police? Didn't scream for help from neighbors? Charles looks like big guy in decent shape, if he is really swinging a metal bat and is enraged and going nuts (LV's words) how does he not seriously injure anyone? And AC says he went to his room to get his gun, why didn't CV just leave then? Or if he is enraged why not follow him to the room and swing at him again?

Total conjecture...big fight going on, LV gets the kids out of the house, AC or LV shoots CV, then after he is shot they come up with the baseball bat/self defense story (or had that story worked out in advance) and LV whacks AC on the back of the head with the bat enough to leave a bruise? Or she drives off and AC hits himself, maybe too hard and gets woozy and ends up not calling 911 for 30 minutes?

I'm not understanding LV saying she heard shots around 8am and the police respond to the 911 call at 8:43. I don't see what time the 911 call was made.

I just have a hard time believing anything she says. I mean, the whole narrative of that day is concocted by Lori. Who’s to say ANY of it actually is the truth? All we know for certain is Charles is dead, and the rest is missing or dead also! Who can refute it?

I think taking the phone was just a ruse in order to lure CV back in and ultimately kill him. I don’t think she was trying to get anything from his phone at that time because all she had to do was wait and get it after they killed him. MOO

Also, I’ve been thinking... seems as though Lori and CV had a decent marriage right up until she and Chad became obsessed with one another. After that, anyone that got in their way had to go, IMO, sad to say but I think the kids were in the way!

Those texts are shocking, who would text a family member to tell them that their father had died? Even if you didn’t get on with them you would still give the courtesy and respect of at least a phone call. No wonder the family were suspicious. Nobody deserves to hear like that. MOO

You would think with all these LEs involved from different states and the fbi that they were doing so. I can understand why they’re not giving anything away because of the nature of the case. We can only hope that they have covered all bases. MOO

I wonder if they could be making money from illegally renting out their rental a couple days every week?
Nate's post says that condo would rent for $3-4K a month. Let's say for easy math they are paying the lower amount of $3000 even. They could rent out the condo for $375 per night and only book 8 nights a month (maybe only weekends) and it would be enough to cover their rent for the month. If they can get more than $375 a night they could make enough for their own hotel stays.

Although I suppose the neighbors would notice if people were always coming and going from the condo in a gated community... And the realtor/neighbor said he hardly ever saw them and didn't see them have any guests. My other thought is that they have made some kind of deal with the owner to furnish the house and make it look like they are living there in exchange for some cheaper rent and they agreed to leave for weekend vacation renters a set number of days per month under the guise of saying a "potential buyer" is looking at the house? Perhaps the condo is actually being used as a vacation rental but is listed as a long term rental and for sale on legal paperwork? Maybe some loop hole in the rental laws that is being exploited? IDK.

Any Hawaii locals want to weigh in on the possibility of an illegal rental situation going on that would cause Lori and Chad to hotel hop?

It's possible but unlikely in my opinion. They would need two tax licenses and would need to put the license numbers in the ads. Plus, most people who come to Hawaii this time of year stay more than a weekend. People often stay 1-3 months in the winter. When I had my rental condo it was almost always booked December to March over a year in advance. There was no way I would accept a short rental that time of year and potentially make a long stay choose a different place just because mine was booked for 2 nights in the middle of their stay.

The other aspect of the shooting is the wounds.

They should be able to say the distance from which he was shot, and if he was within batting distance of the shooter. Were both bullets fired while he was upright, or was there a second one to make sure he didn't survive. There are three lines redacted from Tylee's statement after she says she heard a noise and thought it was someone taking the bat and hitting it really hard against the floor. I wonder if it could be to do with a second noise or other noises she heard, or what Lori said to her, and it's redacted to protect the integrity of a case if it ever goes to court. A hearsay rule which could only affect Lori since Charles and Alex are both dead.

Also I don't think anyone with a bat would think that they were a match for someone with a gun. It's pathetic, imo, for Alex to claim he said drop the bat and Charles did nothing, just stood with his chest square on for Alex to take shots at him. Not trying to duck, turn or protect himself. I bet it was true ambush.

I know LE have said that the kids are not with the POIs but could they be hidden by friends of LV somewhere in Hawaii? Another poster mentioned you don't need passports to travel interstate so the kids could have travelled under false names. Maybe that is where they went after Sept 23rd (for Tylee's birthday?) and are still there hidden. It would explain the smug, smirking expressions on the face of LV and the "that's great" comment. It looks like finding them would be impossible there.

I also wondered that with their being reported at the townhouse seldom. Another rental could be in said other person’s name.

Arizona is also a no fault divorce state. The courts don't even listen to accusations regarding behavior during the marriage. The recording could be useful during a custody battle to show she is nuts but evidence of infidelity has no value for anything.

I don't think Lori wanted anything on Charles' phone. It was the chase she wanted to engage him in, a ruse to get him angry in a house where no one would help him, and the perfect way to stop him calling out for help. Make him helpless. He probably didn't realise the set up until he saw the gun pointed at him, or he'd have left already, knowing it wasn't worth dying for. I think the kitchen island, or the open walkway around kitchen and main room, was what Lori kept referring to as 'going around', the pefect decoy while Alex slipped away and fetched his gun after Tylee left.
