I am responding before reading on so hopefully I’m not duplicating. But we are assuming that his only income is from publishing.

If he had made more money from his super secret cliquey behind the paywall website forum, that may add some more. If that had been going on awhile and was invested it could have grown. I can’t remember the numbers that were suggested per user. Also, what did he get paid for each speaking engagement?

I agree they were probably inflated, but I also see him as the type to pigeon hole money away. And I also believe he would have included Lori’s income in that number.

I’m really most curious why at first they wanted a room only. Was it desolate? Out of sight? Or why?

I think it has been claimed that he didn't get paid for speaking by the organization that will not be named. That's possible that they just picked up any costs he incurred, but didn't pay him and it was just the marketing of his books and publicity (essentially the access to all the potential new readers) that were his motivation for talking at the conferences.

Yes, that's what I was saying. Charles's death was in July so more than 30 days so Lori would only need to show ID. Chad would need a death certificate since it was less than 30 days.

Bringing this up because I just watched the bodycam footage from the shooting of CV. Unless I totally missed it, the officer didn't mention her Hawaii driver's license. I don't hear well so I really have to concentrate. Jmo.

I'm dinging on this because I really think this could speak to "dominance" in a relationship. There's a reason you go to the hassle of renewing a false driver's license.

And in the video from the room rental discussion, Chad claimed his wife lived on the island. He knew about that ID is my assumption.

Eta - Tylee's father died in 2018 and she may have needed it for some reason to receive money or payments from his estate and/or for Tylee, or herself even?

At least in my case it doesn't show an income. What it does show includes a bunch of people I'm associated with and past addresses which are all correct, and partial phone numbers and email addresses which are about half right and half wrong. I suspect they have issues in determining what data goes with which person when there are lots with the same name and often get this wrong or end up combining two people into one set of records.

FYI and off subject - You can get your name and personal info removed from all those websites like MyLife, BeenVerified, etc. I did that earlier this year. Just Google how to do it ... lots of helpful sites.

At this point Lori has no income as such. Have we heard of her having a job at any point in Idaho? I know she and Charles had the juice bar in Hawaii at some point. She supposedly has training to cut hair although I'm not sure what states she is licensed to do so and no one has mentioned when (if ever) she last did that. My impression, maybe incorrectly, is that she was living off of Charles in AZ. Sure, she has some "assests" potentially. I guess any income from social security from Tylee or JJ might have been included, but anything else would be a lie and while not sure how much she might have been receiving on behalf of Tylee and JJ, if it was more than 10% of that 30K number, I'd be amazed.

Yes, exactly. At this point she could even renew her license (if they haven't seen the news) under Lori Ryan with her new address. Documents are not required in HI for license renewal if you are claiming no changes but if she wanted to, she could walk into the Kauai DMV tomorrow with a utility bill, a local bank statement and her marriage certificate and walk out with a new license under the name Lori Daybell with her condo rental address on it.

Things like this are exactly the reason for the REAL ID Act. MOO

Jumping in right here, not quite caught up. This is probably the case everywhere. (Real ID is changing this) Keep in mind that the original purpose of a DL was to assure that you could drive a car. I got mine in 1973 in WI. No picture, no fingerprints etc. When I moved to Texas, I got one here (had to take a test). I could have renewed my WI, but what would be the reason? I don't think my first TX DL had fingerprints or pictures. DL are also money making schemes for the state too. My Texas DL was last renewed in person in 2000, then 2010. In 2016, I renewed online. When I went in person in 2010 I probably just showed them my old DL as a means of ID. If I had changed my name, they would have no idea. My next scheduled renewal is 2022.

ETA: In Texas, you can use a DL as an ID that has been expired for up to 4 years for voting purposes. (Since Texas had one the strictest voting ID laws they made this provision) Hence using an DL as an ID isn't a hard and fast type thing and is relatively recent. I don't know what the current TSA laws are, but I do know in Oct 2020 all of that is changing.

Then it gives a long list of who can and cannot request one, and basically it looks like we won’t see one unless the court orders it or LE may be able to get one. But I wouldn’t hold my breath that we would see it for a while.

It seems like a lot of work to get two DLs that one of them is only going to be good for things like checking into hotels.

I just added that info to the timeline. Lori's friend also gave an interview in Dec 2019 saying that Lori first became obsessed with Chad's books about 4 years ago. So that would mean Lori read his books around 2015 and may have met him a year later. MOO.

When did Chad and Tammy move to Rexburg? I wonder if Chad knew Lori then?

Ok I just looked in your great timeline and Lori became obsessed with Chad's books in 2015 and in June 2015 Chad and Tammy move to Rexburg while Lori and Charles and Tylee and Jj move to Hawaii. 2015 is an important year for both Chad and Lori and their families it seems.

If you claim not to have one (something they could probably check) then I'd think that would create questions and issues, depending on age. At a minimum you'd have to take the tests (presumably no big deal). I guess you could say you lost it during the move, not very credible but maybe it would work. But I'm thinking if the new state determines you have a DL elsewhere that they let the old state know you've got a new one so they'll invalidate the old, but if you still have it in your possesion then if you use it for anything other than flying or to give to LE for any reason then you're probably safe. It seems like a lot of work to get two DLs that one of them is only going to be good for things like checking into hotels.

You still have to get a new driving license if you move to a new state. So it doesn't really add much work if you tell them you lost your previous drivers license.

This came to my mind awhile back, but I had kind of forgotten to ask what Lori has had on her prior record. I have read about other members of her family but nothing specific to her. Alex had been convicted of the tazing incident with Joseph. Wouldn’t that automatically make it illegal for him to possess a firearm?

And a side note the on driver’s license: When I was married way back when I was too lazy to change my SS card to my married name. Therefore for a better part of a decade I had to use my maiden name on all legal documents. It may be not as easy to do now. Remember she also used the name Ryan when advertising the dog. I believe she was just trying to fly under the radar, but could be one explanation.

Unless they're in different names, which was what started this whole discussion. I mean that's a new level if she is using aliases. I don't know if she is or not, but it's a consideration. Jmo
