If a doctor prescribes them, they are medically necessary. The brain is an actual organ of the physical body. Psychiatric disorders, untreated, are often life threatening. At the bare minimum, if a kid truly needs their ADD/ADHD (or juvenile antipsychotic meds), they truly need them - their judgment, their memory, their ability to reason their way out of an ordinary problem are all affected.

If a medical doctor (such as a psychiatrist) prescribes something, IMO, it's medically needed until proven otherwise and we should not be second guessing a doctor.

There are as many people who state that psychotropic medications are not required and medically necessary.

I am not arguing that there is a problem here, nor do I advocate for Lori Daybell. It is just that a court order to require psychotropic medications for a child is going to be a tall order to prove. Especially in Idaho.

Thank
I am glad so many people are coming to this conclusion. This is another benefit of the Dateline program, and other media sources getting the word out; it helps vulnerable people to question or avoid falling under Chad and Lori’s “spell”. Now if it could only recover the missing kids, alive
I too think there is a much bigger story here and I think the weddings are an important element. But I can't make sense of it.

I did some looking into someone who is not sleuthable, and has not actually been mentioned on this thread. But, same story, dead spouse, then dropped out of society in July 2019. Just so strange. I think this will end with the discovery of a huge compound somewhere in Idaho/Montana.
My theory is perhaps Tylee could have been filtered in to a fdls community. She could be considered marriageable in their concept of faith. Hopefully her little brother is with her.

How would she be "filtered in" to a FLDS community? And she is considered legally marriageable by IDAHO laws at 17, there would be no need to filter her into anything. As far as I can tell FLDS aren't getting married at all right now because their leader Warren Jeffs is in jail and demanded they not marry. So they are not going to filter in any outsiders to get married if they can't even get married.

What I have read about this faction

Tangent: (I don't think cult is quite right. This isn't a group with a leader. This is a disgruntled group of LDS ppl with shared interests who are feeding off of each others' "visions". They call themselves the Remnant, not to be confused with the Snuffer Remnant, and about 3 other Remnant-named LDS offshoots). I'm choosing faction because they are mostly LDS members in good standing who think they have a higher/different calling than the Prophet of the mainline LDS church. MOO end tangent.

What I have read is that you must be married *to a believer* to be a leader in the end times
. MOO that is the only reason the additional couples re/married so quickly. Chad and Lori, I believe had additional motives--like list.

If course! I think you nailed it! Needing to be married to another “believer” in order to be an end times leader is the first explanation I’ve heard that fits. Betting Z will be married again soon.

ITA. And Lori and Chad obviously don't believe in polygamy. Lori is married five times, but she only remarried after the divorce or death of the spouse. Chad was married to one woman for 30 years, and only remarried after she died of supposed "natural causes."
For speculation purposes, obviously they both hid things from people- how do we know FOR SURE Chad didn't think he had many wives in his secret prophet life? I dont think FLDS cults and other cults are that much different IMO, the stories out there seem so similar when it comes to this stuff and we dont hear anything about drugs, they could be taking things for "spiritual" reasons - Hawaii is known for that, lots of those kinds of retreats here and keep in mind we do have and had the Warren Jeff's community here for a while and who knows how far up or down the this ladder goes... who got involved knowingly or unknowingly- the secrets will haunt those who dont share what they know! And there will be NO reward for ANY of them in any kind of Heaven.

Who went to Mexico and where? This is new to me.
I believe Chad and Lori were planning to. It was mentioned in the Dateline special. I didn't see it myself, but here is a preview clip that briefly touches on it:

DATELINE NBC EXCLUSIVE: Friday Special Features Footage of Mother of Missing Idaho Children in Hawaii with New Husband

"We were told Chad and Lori had changed hotels and were planning to catch a flight to Mexico. We staked out both the front and back entrance of the hotel. Waited for hours. No sign of Chad, Lori, Tylee, or JJ. And then, nine hours in, we spotted them..."

I believe this is the time when Chad and Lori left a hotel and were ambushed by a news crew, walked around a little, then turned around and went back into the hotel. It seems to me they must have had every intent to flee Hawaii to Mexico, may have already bought the tickets and were heading to the airport even, dressed and under the ruse of going to the beach or something, but as soon as the news crew showed up it spooked them and they changed plans and went back to the hotel. MOO.

Psychotropic medications, which is not actually medically necessary. Unlike, say, insulin for diabetes.

And getting rid of a service dog, hardly rises to "abuse". Remember, she doesn't have to respond to anything.

I am not arguing with you, I find her actions beyond depraved. But, proving it legally, is another matter.
Not abuse, but neglect. A doctor prescribed the medicine, so I think a court would consider it necessary. Likewise, a service dog that had been trained for him.

Remember, this is a civil case, not criminal, so the burden of proof is very different. Once CPS accuses her of neglect and moves to take custody, Lori would need to respond to counter that.

Hopefully, a real attorney can clarify or correct if I'm offbase here.

The FLDS community has a whole other tangent of belief, that is more about polygamy, than about the weird things that Chad, Lori, the traveling conference group, and AVOW is spewing. I personally don’t see the connection.

IMO, any cult is about power and control for the leader. Disparate cults don’t share with each other. Typically a cult leader tries to bring likeminded people from a mainstream belief structure, and redirect them to said leaders personal revelatory tangents. It is isolationary, not cooperative. IMO

Soon they could be arrested for tax evasion? April 15 will be here soon
They can easily get an automatic 6 month extension. The world will have ended by then.

Do you know of any additional "basic" rules within this faction? Does each faction seem to create it's own rules?

If you have tens of thousands of gas stations and grocery stores, etc, with multiple cameras in each, how do you even know where and when to start looking? I'm not sure how long those kinds of places keep the video they recorded, but without having reason to believe the kids were within sight of the camera around a specific point in time (even if we're talking several days or a week) no one is going to check to begin with. What am I missing here?
That's why I thought Rexburg PD should have started an immediate search for cctv video when they first posted about the missing kids in December (and made a public announcement requesting business owners in certain areas check videos). But as you mentinoned, even then it was probably too late.

I especially thought they should have zeroed in on the 9/24-9/30 timeframe, but I'm sure that's easy for me to say in retrospect. I have always believed AC left with the kids in Tylee's jeep, heading south, sometime around 9/24-9/27.

Several threads ago I suggested LE look for cc receipts, license plate cam data, and cctv from toll booths/HOV lanes, and gas stations, etc. along the most likely routes from Rexburg to AZ (maybe first directed by phone pings or vehicle GPS). But again, even if they'd known the dates and possible routes, I'm sure there are logistical issues with such a request that I'm unaware of.

Probably complicated by the fact that we don't know the last time JJ went to the doctor, or where.

We don't have any idea if the medication was even filled in Idaho. Or the last time JJ took the medication.

How can the state prove "neglect", when there is literally no one who has provided evidence of this?

Section 32-1010 – Idaho State Legislature

The law in Idaho, pretty much seems to imply that children are "property".

Lori already believes she is sealed (I think to John the Revelator), and Chad is sealed to Tammy, so they both have ticked off that box, so not really disregarding it. Their marriage here is for time, so I guess they figure they may as well make the most of it. Moo.
It was mentioned that the reason for the quick marriages was because they all believed sex before marriage is wrong. I can buy that. But it would imply then that they actually had not been having sex before Nov 5 and hence were not technically having an affair. We can debate whether emotionally they were having an affair but that's not how we typical define an affair. If we did, plenty of people, religious or not, are having affairs with close friends of the opposite sex (or same sex) that they just have a close connection with.

Somehow I doubt Alex believed sex before marriage is wrong.

IMO emotional affair and friendship are two different things. The former implies romantic interest and the latter does not.

I am not so sure they believed sex before marriage was bad, rather, they wanted the continued support and adoration of others (family and followers) who would frown upon sex before marriage. And they wanted to be able to have their relationships in public. IMO

Not to mention SSRIs have some serious withdrawal issues.

I don't know anyone with autism well, but I'm also under the impression seizure disorders aren't uncommon with autism. If true, that's another potential health consideration. Jmo
