Watching CNN live. They say Idaho LE authorities have identified the shooter as Wes Rolley.
LE was able to trace his cell phone as he was located on the mountain.
Fire probably could have been controlled earlier if they weren't being shot at. went to 26 acres.
Fire was and is considered a crime scene. Fire fighters had to pick up evidence where they coul during the fire.
Having a grudge against first responders sounds like someone with an agenda. JMO

There's a whole bunch of wild speculation running rampant online right now, based on nothing more than basic demographic/geographic info.
If LE has WR's phone, that may give them some insight into where his head was at leading up to the attack...between the electronic/digital info and interviews with those closest to him, I think they'll be able to determine what motivated his heinous actions.
Everything we're hearing and seeing right now about the killer's motive is pure guesswork from people who aren't in the know.

It's unclear how the suspect died but Norris said he had engaged in a shootout with responding law enforcement officers.
I hope they took him out and it was by his own hand.

[Grandfather] said Wess was living in Coeur d'Alene and working for a tree company and trying to get into forestry. He said he hiked in the Canfield Mountain area often.

Dale Roley said he has not heard from Wess's dad and asked the sheriff's office to do a wellness check on him and his wife.
