There are watergates and grates on the canals, so my guess is he was transported to the site, or near the site where he was found.
Farmers and canal workers routinely check their inlets for cleaning and irrigation access.
The site is about a mile from my house. I can see Deer Flat out my back door, but I'm not close enough to see the site.
The news just said the Coroner and investigators are still at the scene, and have not removed the body.
From what I get from the reporter's foreshadowing, this is probably, probably little Robert.

The body has been removed from the scene.

The only way I can handle this kind of news is knowing that Robert's soul is already secure for eternity in heaven.

You must be vacuuming as hard as I am - I'm glued here.

Salem
I actually did Salem! It was turbo vacuum!

***********lady that was live at the link I earlier posted said that they do not know the time yet....but there will be a presser "this evening" and they will report the time when they find it out***************

For those like me who are unable to listen live, please let us know if there is anything on the live stream that is newsworthy, kay? :blowkiss:

The news said the family is in town, so it's possible a "next of kin" notification going on right now. This is so sad.
HLN has it on now.

I was thinking the same thing! Did you see this map? The access road???

darn... you have to scroll up to look at it.... it isn't in my paste box anymore

Yes, I sure did see the access road, nursebeeme. I had found the location just after realizing that I would have to both roads into the search on Angels' link.

I was able to see the access road following your map. Makes me so damn mad for a child to be disposed of in this way.

ETA: So mad that ANY child is disposed of.

I hope it doesn't take them long to make that arrest TODAY.

I had some errands to run and they ran late. I had my little 6 year old grandson with me and I was feeling so guilty because I didnt get him his lunch till around 2:00. Then I rush in here to see if there's any news about little Robert and find there's been a body found in a canal..No lunch, no loving arms, no one to wipe away his tears..I'm angry and I want someone to pay for this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not surprising, but very sad. :(

HLN is saying that the body found had on a blue shirt. Robert was last seen wearing a blue or black shirt.

  • #373
I'm watching HLN now...they are confirming this is a boy's remains. They are saying MJ and her BF haven't been to the last 3 days of pressers. LE does state they know where they are...

  • #374
They are now talking about MJ being allowed visitation with Robert.

  • #375
Not suprising, but very sad. :(

It is so sad that we have almost come to expect such an ending, SS. I am not surprised either, but like you - so very, very sad about it. Feeling a little nauseated right now.

waiting is the hardest..............i can't imagine what the families are going through

I am wondering who discovered this body and under what circumstances. Was it a farmer? TIA to anyone who might know.

  • #379
HLN has moved to another case for the time being.
