I was thinking it was when the Dad of the boyfriend had come over to the apartment to give him money for bills.

The boyfriend, imo, told his Dad that Robert was down in the back - I take it that Robert was down in the back of the apartments at the playground area.

Thanks, that's what I had thought also.....
Thought I'd lost my marbles again. I think my marble bag must have a BIG HOLE!

Wishing for an arrest to be made....

I'm thinking it might not happen until after the Funeral / Memorial Service on Sunday at the Cemetary. I have family and friends buried at that same Cemetary--- I have to work Sunday Noon-5pm...sadly or I think I would probably attend from a distance of course.

I'm glad Idaho Native is going to the races in Meridian.

Sorry if this has been discussed already....but found this location map interesting.

Thought I'd read that 10 days was about right for a body to travel from the area Robert was last seen to the area in canal where his body was found. Also that BPD had searched the canal in days after his disappearance. Then on 7/31 BPD searched the Southdale Ave home. Robert was found Aug 3rd, 4 days later in the canal.

Again sorry if this has been gone over, just am wondering if anyone knowshow long it would take a body to go from Southdale Ave to where Robert was found?

My opinion would be that it would take a day or less to get from the canal near Five Mile to where he was found. The canal is high and swift out there and the distance is not very far. However, there are a lot of variables, such as whether or not he was weighted down with something, whether he was temporarily hung up in one of the grates, etc. Obviously those things would slow the body down, maybe even make it stationary for awhile. My guess is that they may have put his body in the canal near the house on Five Mile with something tied to weigh him down and when the weights came free, he floated to the surface and was found. Not sure WHEN they put him in, though - guessing pretty early on, likely before he was even reported missing (otherwise wouldn't someone have been keeping tabs on them? Surely the BF didn't leave and go over there AFTER Robert was reported missing and put him in the canal - if that is the case, then the police weren't doing their jobs very well imo).

I don't post much but read constantly here at WS. Robert's loss is breaking my heart. I just wondered if any of the locals have heard anything more. It seems the media has nothing new to share. Is the boyfriend still hospitalized? I'm not sleeping well waiting for justice for little Robert.

Hi grandmaj and welcome..I was wondering the same thing. Kathy Belich who is a reporter following the Caylee Anthony case is ALWAYS on top of everything that happens on that case. Even before KC was arrested they would see her coming and turn and run the other way. I just don't see why there isn't a reporter following this case more closely and trying to get ANY information they can to help the police ARREST someone. It was a reporter in the Sandra Cantu case that was instrumental in getting her murderer arrested!!!!

DollyPardenMe thanks for the welcome.

I have followed the Caylee case, the Sandra Case, the Nevaeh case, and the Haleigh cases and the loss of these children makes me so angry. I know I am not being realistic in wanting LE to move so quickly. I'm sure they need to get some of the evidence back from testing. It is possible there is just nothing to report because the Police are being very quiet. But you are correct, Kathy Belich would be on someone's tail trying to squeek something out. Patience is not one of my better qualities.

I work in the funeral business and I promise you I have never seen nor written an obituary like that. What does this tell us anything?

  • #429
Not to be critical, but isn't an obituary supposed to be about the deceased person? The first third of that obit. was about his parents and their issues. Even the poor child's obituary wasn't about him.

  • #430
I'm beginning to have feelings of over explanation both with the obituary and the facebook where it mentions Robert's temper.

I think perhaps you just summed up the entire problem in a nutshell, and what ultimately led us to where we are now. Robert being "in the firing line' of other people's issues. JMO. Poor little man, never did nothin' to nobody.........*sigh*

I agree. That is the most bizarre obit I have ever read. Way too much information about the parents. Overexplanation is a good word.

I am first time poster so please excuse me if I didn't do it right. I agree with you, I think there is OVER explanation about the relationship between parents and the part on the myspace about his temper was uncalled for IMO. What 8 yr old doesn't have a temper? I am 50 something and I still have a temper! But that is not how I would want to be remembered. RIP dear sweet boy.

I agree with you, EmmasMom. Welcome to Websleuths!:blowkiss:

Just checking in to see if there's news. That obituary is strange. More like an explanation of why MJ had visitation and putting some of the blame on Charles Manwill. I saw the replies about stereotyping stay at home Dads and I just want to say I understand how easy it is. My goal was to simply raise awareness. I also want to say this is a great community and if I come across as gruff or anything, feel free to notify me in private or in the context of the forum. My only goal is to be a contributing part of the "team". Ok, back to the case.

Wow, I don't think I had ever read an obit that appeared to be written by a criminal defense attorney...that was interesting, to say the least.

  • #437
Can we find out who submitted that obit.?

  • #438
Hmmm...maybe I read it wrong because I assumed he went to his father's place to leave money for bills. Why would the father go to the apartment to drop off money for bills?
I will go find the article (it has been reposted here several times and even in the astro thread) as to how the father went to the apartment that evening to drop off money for them to pay their bills .... which is commonplace for him. The brother of the bf (David) says that the bf (his brother) is a "stay at home dad" and does not work... ((again in the link)) and that the Father regularly pays his bills and stops by.... The father states he thinks he saw Robert "in the back" of the apartment when he stopped by with money that day... it did not seem to me that he was certain.. but I think he pretty much was...

(((note... for a stay at home dad.. this guy is batting a thousand... as none of his own children are allowed to be within fifty feet of him)))

Maybe the paper would tell you but with privacy laws the funeral home should not give any information out.

  • #440
OK, I will give you that one, Underdog. It is unfair in the overall picture to say a man can't stay home while the woman works. I know a few stay at home dads and they do an excellent job with their children while their wives bring home more than enough to take care of the family.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear either one of those conditions applied to this situation.
bold is mine and you are right... if you read back thru the threads and his court docs it is easy to deduct that this guy around children would equal DISASTER! (IS THAT FORESHADOWING OR WHAT?)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
