A dozen volunteers searched an area Thursday, near Dog Creek Reservoir north of Gooding, looking for signs.

On foot, on ATVs, and with the aid of drones, they hunted for anything related to the May 15 disappearance of 58-year-old Roger Driesel, who reportedly left a Gooding residence with an unknown person on in a silver SUV, leaving behind personal items including a wallet and phone.

Driesel’s sister JulieAnne Batelaan is concerned. Things could be dire for him, she said.

“Roger has disabilities, no money, no food or anything,” Batelaan said Thursday.
She believes her brother is alive but may be a victim of foul play and perhaps is hurt.

Batelaan is helping to lead the effort to find her brother, and the Thursday search was the first large, organized event since he was reported missing.

Florence Dickens, owner of forensic investigators Semper Vigilans in Rupert took cadaver dogs to Dog Creek Reservoir, where Roger liked to fish.

“About all I can say is there have been a few volunteers working hard on this case. We are working all leads,” Dickens said.

Driesel, a well-known local veteran, has not been found and Batelaan is pleading with people to come forward with information.

Driesel is known for being a loud talker and very friendly, Batelaan said.
He is 5 foot, 11 inches, has brown eyes and weighs about 180 pounds. He has gray shaggy hair and a beard, and has tattoos on his left arm and shoulder.

Due to disabilities, he keeps his left arm raised, almost as if it’s in a sling, and he keeps his right hand cupped. He has PTSD, and might show signs of dementia.

Going missing is totally out of character for Driesel, his sister said. Coming from a military background, he would have never left his personal items behind. Plus, his father’s birthday was last week and he wouldn’t normally have gone that day without contacting him.

A little more here (BBM):

"Batelaan said she wanted to clarify Roger Driesel was last seen on the evening of Monday, May 15, at his girlfriend’s nephew’s residence in Gooding. Batelaan said previous reports gave the impression he was last seen at his father’s residence.

Additionally, it was reported that after getting into a verbal altercation, he left with people unknown to the family in a gray or silver 2010-ish SUV. He left several items behind at his home, such as his phone and wallet, and has not contacted his family since."

So many questions.

Who did ge get into an altercation with? His girlfriend, or her nephew (or someone else)?

he left with people unknown to the family

Did the mysterious SUV belong to someone already at the house, or did he call someone to pick him up? Does the girlfriend/nephew know who they are?

He left several items behind at his home, such as his phone and wallet

Confusing. An earlier statement from the article says he would never leave home without his personal items. But he was last seen at his girlfriend’s nephew’s house, apparently without these items.

The body of a missing Gooding man was found late Saturday afternoon, Gooding County Prosecutor Trevor Misseldine said.
A prayer vigil for 58-year-old Roger Driesel was scheduled for later that afternoon.

Driesel was found in a shop at one of his two residences, this one east of Gooding.
He had been missing since May 15.

The body was found at 1848 S. 2100 E., under a tarp. The condition of the body suggests foul play, Misseldine told the Times-News.

There are suspects but no arrests at this time, he said.
The autopsy is set for Wednesday because of Memorial Day holiday.

Gooding County Sheriff Shawn Gough confirmed the body was found in Gooding County.

Oh, I need to follow this one all the way to Justice for Roger.

Poor sweet guy probably became confused and someone took advantage of him in some way for no good reason. His sister, JulieAnne, must be heartbroken.

It's the strangest thing to have so many pronouns without proper nouns. We've got a girlfriend and nephew with no names for them or for his father. (that I saw)

RIP Roger Driesel

<snipped for focus on this part>

Oh no, RIP Roger.

I found the girlfriend info ("AM"). MOO looks like GF and Roger's family are staying far apart "due to circumstances".

Also am pointing at comment by sister "JAB" about the "nephew(?)". Hmmm:

I hope this one can be solved quickly.

When he was still missing his sister had added more photos of Roger to try and help find him. Sorry if it offends anyone, but I'd like to think this one would be a perfect representation as to what he would think about whoever did this to him:
