No, in the Old Testament the Jews are chosen to go the land of milk and honey. Can't quote Bible verses to you.

Yes, of course. Arabs call the area the land of milk and honey as well. In American vernacular, the phrase "land of milk and honey" can be used to refer to any pleasant place, oftentimes used in an ironic manner.

Actually, they do. Palestinians are the illegal immigrants, but that's for another thread.

Honey, I was agreeing with you!

I wish tonal inflections showed up on the computer screen.

They only have problems with the ones wearing or lobbing bombs.

No, they pretty much have problems with anyone who isn't Jewish. It's pretty hard for a non-Jew to immigrate there legally.

Gotta go, good thread, peace to Canada and Mexico xoxoox

Oh no you din't! I guarantee you, it's a lot easier for a non-Jew to visit Israel than it is for a Jew (or Christian) to visit any other middle Eastern countries.

I said immigrate!, not visit. Of course, it's easy for a Christian to visit Israel. Do you have any idea how much money is made from Christian tourism? Israel would be utterly stupid to make it hard for Christians to visit.

As far as I know its as hard as Canada and US. Live there for 3 years, establish residency, no criminal activitiy or hisory and denouce all other nationalism and work - don't expect to life off the backs of the cititzes already there.

There is no way to really compare Canada and the U.S. to Israel. Canada and the U.S. have no official religion and are aggressively secular. Israel is a religious state with a set state religion, similar to Saudi Arabia.

Getting into the U.S. is one of the easiest things one can do. Simply cross the Rio Grande in the middle of the night.

oh sorry! my bad! if you have a great great grandparent who was Jewish, you'd have no problem immigrating.

I don't think any other Arab nation affords that.

A survey in 2004 showed that 81 percent of Israel’s population defined themselves as Jewish; 12 percent as Muslim; 3.5 percent as Christian (both Arab and non-Arab); 1.5 percent as Druze; 1.5 percent as atheist; and another 0.5 percent as followers of other religions. In terms of religiosity, among Israeli Jews aged 20 and over, 44 percent defined themselves as secular; 27 percent defined themselves as traditional; 12 percent as traditionally observant; 9 percent as Orthodox; and 8 percent as ultra-Orthodox.

Lolz. Of course, when compared to an Arab nation, no other country would be lacking. The point is, who would want to be compared to an Arab nation?
