The reason the perp chose to take the cord and tape rolls with him is because they can be sourced. If they can be sourced, then the seller may remember what the perp looked like.

The perp probably did not want to risk not finding these items in the house, so he brought them in.

This is a valid explanation as to why the perp would take the cord and tape rolls with him, and not leave them there. The fact that both the tape and cord rolls were never found should be a sign that JBR was killed by an intruder.

I am with UKGUY on this one....then why did the intruder leave some of the tape and rope on JB's body, if he was afraid of it being sourced?? Seems if he didn't want it to be sourced....he would have taken the tape off of her mouth and legs....(there was tape on her legs too...and yes, I have a link...and will provide it if necessary)...and the rope from her hands and neck...and taken it with him TOO.

RIGHT ON!! He must have not been to worried about leaving evidence behind, since he left those things on her. It makes no sense that he would use some of the tape and cord on her, and then take the rest with him, so as not to leave any incriminating evidence. You are right...if he had of not wanted to leave evidence...he would have taken off the rope and tape left on JB's body...and taken it too!!

Ames

Sure, or the intruder could have stuck to the plan outlined in the ransom note, and removed JonBenet's body including all the cord, tape, fibers, and any degraded dna.

In short just taken all the forensic evidence with him since the only other item of note was the wiped clean flashlight, or does the perp' make exceptions for stuff he never brought, and sources in the house, or did he forget to bring his candles?

I would've never guessed you were with UKGUY on that one!

Maybe the tape and cord that were used could be sourced to the murder, so the perp didn't want to take those with him. That makes sense.

Maybe like the missing piece of paintbrush, he took the remaining cord and tape with him as a souvenier, a common practice among serial killers.

In any case, the cord and tape seems to have come and gone with the murder. The violence in the RN came and went with the murder too, since RDI can't find a thing on the R's relating to violent behavior.

The idea that PR snapped, but while snapping, created a very violent narrative 2 1/2 pages long, appears to be made up out of thin air. The violence in the RN is superfluous to any kidnapping for ransom staging. And it sortof came and went with the murder. Yet another sign of intruder.

Have you guys heard of Ellen Boehm, a woman from St Louis who murdered two of her children and attempted to murder the third in the late 80s? There was also absolutely no prior acts of violence towards her kids on her part, either, but she snapped one day and smothered her youngest...and within less than a year, she snapped again and smothered her next oldest child...eight days after she tried to electrocute the oldest in the bath tub by tossing in a turned-on hair dryer.

No prior evidence of anything other than being a loving and attentive mother to her three children. It's only because the oldest was able to grab the hair dryer and yank the plug and toss it out of the bath that she isn't also dead like her two brothers.

Patsy put on her fur boots before leaving the hell hole. She could have stuffed the tape in her boots.

Patsy was fully dressed when Police arrived. After finding her daughter dead and hysterical as she was, why would she bother to change her shoes??? She managed to put on a fur coat which is explainable but boots???

She walked away with the practice pieces of paper and the duct tape. The cord was used up.

I think he used up all the cord and tape...with the 15' length of rope bet. her wrists,as well as the loop that was added.
I think JB's original underwear was in the golf bag.WHY? B/c that's one of the reasons she had new underwear on..the old had to be removed (blood, dna, same reason she was wiped down),and if it had been noticed she hadn't had any on right away, they would have went looking for it.As it stands,JR had time to get it out of the house via the golf bag,IMO.

LOL...I guess that I didn't make myself clear enough. ;)

How do you explain the unstickiness of the tape...if it was from a new roll? It wasn't sticky at all....like it had been taped to something else beforehand.

I believe that John...described by Patsy, as being calm and cool...(in her OWN words)....when they found JB "missing"......helped Patsy write the note. I don't think she would have been able to do it on her own.

I don't believe that the tape came off of a roll...the one over her mouth was not even sticky. It ...IMO..had been stuck to something else in the house...like one of Patsy's paintings for example.

I agree, I think that the cord was used up too....that's why there was a 15' length of cord between her wrists. Otherwise....whats the point, in that much slack??

Exactly....if she had of actually been kidnapped...then the tape and the cord would have went with her. The intruder must not have been too afraid that the cord and tape just might be sourced. In fact...he wasn't afraid of ANYTHING at all. To me...its just way to much of a stretch of the imagination...to believe that an intruder would take the time to do all of the things that this "intruder" did....while the parents and a brother slept....just feet away. It never happened....IMO

he wouldn't have wanted to risk being caught with that either...so why take it with him??? it doesn't make any sense..esp since it was made to appear he didnt want to be caught w the RN...and so wrote it while there (not even knowing if he would even have time to write one).
On that note..*I think JR did a lot of setting Patsy up*...having her write the RN..then HANDING LE the notepad it came from...if HE had physically written it....it would have disappeared, along w the size 6 underwear.JMO.

Oh yes,no matter which one killed JB ...JR's stink is all over that note, undertone wise..the undertones are his,as far as pointing to former AG employees.Patsy physically wrote it...and the trick was that JR told her what to write, with a few add-ins of her own..being rested, etc. The feminine touches..I think that was the trick they used...both come up w the wording in an attempt to make it difficult to be sourced just to one person..with JR dicatating most of it,and Patsy physically writing it.

ITA...and Patsy would have been freaking out too much, to have written it ALL by herself. She had help...from John, there is no doubt in my mind about that. I found it odd that she said that when they found JB "missing"....that John was calm and cool....(and she was, what she herself described as, hysterical....but yet SHE is the one that made the 911 call)....this has always been a red flag to me. If you woke up to find that your child had been kidnapped, and you found a RN..and you yelled for your husband...and the RN talked about beheading, etc....would HE be calm and cool?? I don't care what sort of businessman he was, or how many companies he ran....if it came down to HIS CHILD...would he be calm and cool???? I know that my husband would be freaking out, just like I would be. WE would be freaking out together.

yes and as soon as he'd gotten to the part about not contacting so much as a stray dog...he'd have called LE and told them to LAY LOW!

Exactly!! In no part of that 911 call, did Patsy say..."My husband just got to a part in the RN that says not to talk to so much as a stray dog....so, be as discreet as possible." SUPPOSEDLY she hadn't gotten to that part, yet. So, John was reading it, as she called 911, and even if he hadn't gotten to that part yet, by the time that she had hung up....when he DID get to that part...he (if it had of been a real kidnapping) would have told her to call them back, and tell them what it said, and to be discreet. Another thing...if my husband was cool and calm....and I was hysterical....who do you think would be making that 911 call??? It sure wouldn't have been me!! I have had to call 911 on a serious matter...but, not as serious as kidnapping....and I was so upset that I couldn't REMEMBER my address....OR MY AGE...LOL (My husband couldn't make the call...because...well...HE was the reason that I was calling them in the first place), Patsy just spouted it off, like she was calling to order a pizza...before they even asked for it.

What I find strange is that when John was asked why not he but Patsy made the 911 call, he answered that it was usually Patsy who made the phone calls. But hey, this was not about e. g. ordering food from caterers for a party. This was about your child having been abducted. And John Ramsey, CEO of a million dollar company left it to his wife to call the police? Yeah, right. :D

Because the 911 call was a false call. John isn't dumb.

After everybody arrives at the house (witnesses), John is the one doing things. Before everybody arrived (no witnesses), it is the Patsy show.

John was in a position to turn Patsy in at any moment that day if things fell apart.

I KNOW!!! Isn't that the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard??? He is a businessman, and runs a multi-million dollar business....but he can't place a 911 call???? Yeah, we believe THAT....NOT!!!! I mean....geez...I make the phones calls in my family too...but, if our daughter was kidnapped....and my husband was cool and calm (which he WOULDN'T BE EITHER ONE).....then HE would be the one placing that 911 call...not, me. That is a stupid excuse that he gave, for Patsy calling instead of him. The one and ONLY reason that Patsy called...is because she was the actress of the family.....John couldn't be as theatrical as she was. I mean...come on....how believable would he have been, if he had of called and been cool and calm??? John: "Patsy...you call 911". Patsy: "No, John, you are a businessman, YOU call 911." John: "But Patsy....I am so cool and so calm that nobody would believe me...and besides....you are the actress in the family, you would seem more believable than me". Patsy: "WOW...John. Thanks for the compliment...yes, I AM a wonderful actress, aren't I? Did I ever tell you about the dialog that I performed for the talent portion of the Miss West Virginia beauty contest?" John: "WHY yes, Patsy...I have heard it many, MANY times. But, why don't you go ahead and tell me again, because I know that you are going to anyway".

ROFL !!!!!!!!! that was hysterical!! and so true...poor JR...I bet you're right...if Patsy wanted to run her mouth off, then by darn,he was going to have to hear it ...whether he wanted to or not !!
