Eligible for parole doesn't mean you get out. Dianne Downs had the same type of sentencing and her parole was turned down last week.

thanks for the update on the downs one...I heard about her going up--but didn't hear the results..my o my prision life ain't good for her......

Dahmer was in protective custody but somebody made a "mistake" and made him accessible to the general population. True lifers have nothing to lose and will use any opportunity to their full advantage.

Do we all realize that KC in a very calculated way is making the entire public stand up and pay attention to her quote of, "Why do people kill people who kill people?" KC appeared early on to know she would have everyone by the b___s before she would go to trial. How sick she new ahead of her actions towards Caylee that she planted a seed on the internst to make society question our intent towards murders. I assume she is feeling pretty powerful right now! KC can't sympothize with your Capitol Punishment diddy. Law is Law and we are'nt going to let your statements strike up doubt or debate. KC father has repeatedly stated, "It is what it is." I hope these are his last words KC will here.It amazes me this young lady had so much forthought before harming her child. I know guilty until proven innocent.

What prison will she most likely go to? Will it be a maximum security prison?
I've watched the prison life on MSNBC and it looks pretty scary.
People shouldn't be fooled by her cute little smirk and a pretty face.
She's as ugly inside as the worse of the worst.

Even if she IS eligible for parole at some point...if she's convicted of killing Caylee then she would have to 'come clean' to a parole board and take responsibility for her actions before they would even consider releasing her, correct? That being the case, I seriously doubt she would ever see the free world again.

Manson is in protective custody because he literally is crazy - his rants put him there

The rest of the manson killers are in general population and will never walk free - heck one has a brain tumor and people lobbied for her release and the judge and states attorney denied it - she has life, doesn't mean she gets released because she is going to die

Even with life with eligibility for parole at a certain age - be it 30, 40 or 50 - the criminals prison life and culpability comes into question - Casey could be a model prisoner, if she shows no remorse for her crime, or show any kind of psychological breakthoughs or progress, she will never see outside prison walls.

I personally would rather see her serve LWPP (Life without possibility of Parole)..I think a needle in her arm is way to easy, for the way that Caylee died..Let her sit in prision Looking like SH*T, eating bologna & cole slaw and being someone elses BIT*C that is what I want to see..

And for those of her that think she will get off easier because they dont have the COD that really doesnt make as much difference they have the manner of death, and she had the means, motive & opportunity, and there is much more evidence that the SA has that we do not yet know about yet...So rest assured that if it was going to be that easy JB would not be making the stink & press appearances that he is or getting as many high profiled people in on the defense..He has un uphill battle...I just keeping thinking of YM saying to Casey in one of her interviews that the snowball was going down the hill and they would find out the truth with or without her...and they have and when it reaches the bottom of the hill they will all be sqashed like they deserve....Keep in mind that all of LE and the SA office are there to speak for the victims with no voice and when they get done Caylee will speak loud & clear.

I really believe that LWOP is the worst that would happen to her at this point. DP not even a possibility as far as I am concerned. No Cause of Death, manner of death based on info that will be probably deemed hearsay in court, over release of info, gaps in time between LE becoming aware of potential evidence and actaully bothering to go get it.
She'll get LWOP her first time in court, everyone is still very angry. The public wouldn't stand for her walking right away.
But, by the time her appeals come up, she may have gotten someone better than Baez, and there will be another babykiller taking up the headlines. Everyone will sort of remmeber casey but not the actual acts she committed and she will end up with a severely reduced sentence on appeal.
JMO.

Life in prison w/out parole would be hell for her, so that's what I hope she gets.

The only way the death penalty would be good enough for her is if she was subjected to a long and drawn out torture first.

You know like a rag dipped in chloroform put across her face held in place with duct tape, locked in a trunk day after day until she died.

However, that would be cruel and inhumane:rolleyes: and would never happen.

In different areas of the US, this case has very little if any profile. (EX: West Coast, too narcissistic press, studying mass restaurant heists lay down customers and bicycle lanes).

If released, she could get lost in the general shuffle of people--out on manslaughter lesser charges. When released, her twitchiness from years of incarceration plus prison diet and garbage extras will make her a prematurely aged, bloated, whatever age she is. Also, her personality in dealing with others will have changed....to the more obvious quid pro quo. Vegas or Tahoe, watch out.....

LWOP, the same but easier in a way, that she's dealing with other felons.... and trash. But hopefully in FL, life means life... duration. In a way, KC is used to that.

As another poster pointed out: how ironic that KC killed Caylee for her own freedom, now to find out that Caylee will keep her from it forever. Ha ha.

I am a liberal in anything but crime. Go, spirit of Caylee: tell the cost of that freedom purchased so dearly at cost of your unopened, yet-to-be-lived life; tell it to LE and to everyone: let it be revealed.

Sorry. Dang it.

I so adore your mindset on many things. Though I suspect with the non-idiot of a lawyer Casey has found for herself she will be locked away good and tight for years to come! ;)

In Florida, a life sentence means life without the possibility of parole.

That's good to know. In TX life meant you were eligible for parole after a certain number of years and then they changed it to mean LWOP. I would rather see her put to death. I think anyone that murders/rapes/abuses a child should automatically put to death. These kinds of people are subhumans and I don't believe they should be allowed to live.

Prison is tough, tougher still if one choses to get involved with the BS that goes on such as gangs, race issues, relationships etc. I do not see Casey having a problem staying away from these types of people.

There are many just like Casey in prison, they won't be fooled. IMO She will do just fine- people like her can adapt to any situation. I have said it before but will say it again, I suspect guards will be losing their jobs in no time due to the same issues that Susan Smith presented..

In LA, there is Life Without the Possibility of Parole Probation or Commutation of Sentence. It means you are locked away until you die. It is not a cruel sentence for the taking of a life. Society lets the guilty person live, just not amongst the free. They are sheltered from the elements, receive 3 meals per day, medical care and can have visitors, mail, phone calls, get an education, learn a skill, etc. For KC it will be like going to University, she will adapt.

That being said, thirty years in prison is a long, long time. Some of us here will have lived a long life and not even be around by the time her thirty year sentence would be complete. Her grandparents (all of them) will die while she is there and it is likely that dad and mom will too. Lee will be 56 years old, his children grown and he will have grandchildren. When released, KC will be unemployable at 53 years of age. The whole world will have changed, she will be completely unable to make a life on the outside and will be alone. Is this enough of a penalty for her crime? I don't know. I do know that if released there will be other victims. I believe that she will always be a danger to society. Anyone who can kill a child has no mechanisms to stop from killing others, all they need is a "reason".

I HOPE they know what they're doing.I HOPE they have something that proves premeditation 100%.If they wanna get her for murder 1 they have to convince the jury it was premeditated.WIll be tough,LK Baden ain't stupid.

If there was duck tape wrapped around the skull, how could anyone say it was not premeditated?

Based on Casey's age and lack of prior history. I am afraid she would likely not get the maximum sentence and more likely max of twenty years and be out in eight. Manslaughter in most states with no prior results in less than five years served avg. With todays juries, even if she confessed on the stand, some idiot holdout could set her free. Even if convicted, appeals by her dream team will bring her back more than once and defense is always just looking for 1 juror to mistrial figuring the case wont be retried due to expense, loss of evidence and witnesses over time or at least finally settle for a much reduced plea bargain to avoid another trial. they wont let her plead now, because they want to try the case and get their attention and bucks and play the one juror odds. the appeal process is what gives them the plea bargain option and then they still win in the long run. Perhaps the only justice KC will receive, will be at the hands of some fellow prisoner but it has to happen prior to her seducing a guard and getting pregnant in prison and getting out that way. Guess Im just negative, after years in the criminal system and watching it go down hill more and more. Cops and border guards end up in prisons and illegal criminal drug dealer murders get off and the defense counsels scream about lies, poor evidence and crooked cops unless their client gets off somehow and then the "justice system prevailed" arghhhhhhh.

Ps Smith, Peterson and many other child killers are still alive and well, have girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands and news media interviews in prison so dont count on Kc getting justice there either.

SADLY I agree.I am not very optimistic since I've heard they couldn't establish COD :(

S. Peterson is sitting on DR and there was no COD for Laci. IMO, there was a lot less evidence in his case. Hopefully Casey's jury will see past the smoke and mirrors and rely on plain old common sense when looking at the mound of evidence against her.

I think the DP is worse than LWOP...seems they get less privileges but most of all, most perps fight against the DP...which is what I think Casey will do.

Why not? Cause of death was never established for Lacy Peterson either.
