I love when you find new photos @osu
Again, this shows his head without the distortion in the 03/04 photos. Very clear difference.

What a cute little guy.

It's hard to find a photo of AJ without marks and bruises on his face. :(

Could these be in other home? Maybe cleaned up for CPS visit.

Maybe trick photography, knowing her.
I was thinking, maybe IL needs to revamp their child parenting classes?!?
Also, if a Judgecasecworker thinks a child should be reunited with unfit monsters, maybe they should send their children for a visit first.

Exactly.
And we all know a 5yo can’t do adult tasks with precision.
He lied about stacking the dishes wrong? Of course he lied, he knew what lie ahead for his imperfection & kids lie.
I’m sure he tried his best to be quiet, keep still, not bring attention to himself but that is not easy for a child. They have a lot to do & say.
When she had her nice moments, I’m sure he was bewildered.

Sadly, the same abuse is going on right now, in homes across the nation.
I’ve wondered if case workers should be assigned out of their home county? Idk if the worker on AJ’s case was local or not. But where I live, a case worker often lives near, attends church, picnics, ball games with the family she’s investigating. Or, knows someone that knows the investigated party. Favors & intimidation come into play, not helping the original situation.

BBM

And this is what kept me awake last night. AJ died. How many are out there living hell right now? How many stories go untold?

I believe his office is in that the house.
MOO
I do, too. No way did he actually work at an office several hours away. I think he used the Riverside address on legal documents.

Freund used his Dole street address for his office.
I was just told that.

In a separate matter in 2013, Freund represented Cunningham in court for a violation related to the vaccination of her pet, the commission found. At the time he represented her, Freund did not tell the court that he was not allowed to practice law after he failed to register or complete continuing education requirements.

The commission’s records also show that Freund was convicted of retail theft from a McHenry County Kohl’s department store in 2014, which Freund admitted he had done to support his addictions.

When the commission sought to impose the suspension in 2015, Freund had received a diagnosis of opioid and cocaine use disorders, records show. Freund “expressed remorse for his conduct” and had sought help at Rosecrance, a mental health and substance abuse treatment facility, the commission reported.

However, the commission said, Freund had since entered into a romantic relationship with Cunningham and she had become his fiancee.

She couldn’t even properly take care of her pet.

Thanks. I’ve found it both ways. The requirements are such anyone can be a foster parent. Idk where y’all live but in my town, there’s a sign on every corner, with an 800#, urging people to call & get started in the process.
It is very common for down on their luck people to foster, some briefly, in between jobs. It is what it is.
There’s a huge demand to find placement for the kids. Many of the kids have problems a foster family can’t adequately handle, some foster for the paycheck, some for the right reasons. Moo
years ago, one had to be financially qualified to be a foster parent. iow, they could afford to do it without need for a stipend. They dropped that requirement and now anybody can do it. Too many people do it for the money and are horrible to the children. Our system is truly broken.

I hope neither gets to watch the funeral from jailhouse TV.
I actually wish they could. It will give me great satisfaction to know they are aware of the huge public outcry and horror at what they have done.

Pediatrician and MERIT’s medical director weighs in on the AJ Freund case

Dr. Ray Davis, who is a pediatrician with University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and is board certified in treating child abuse injuries, joined WGN Morning News to speak on 5-year-old AJ Freund and DCFS’ handling of child abuse cases.

video:

Pediatrician and MERIT’s medical director weighs in on the AJ Freund case

As, he stated in the I interview there are only 14 Dr.s specially trained to identify abuse in Illinois, 350 in the county.
Physicians, especially those entering the field in the last 20 years are very concerned about liability. Medical malpractice insurance is a huge cost for physicians and you can't practice without. In the 90s, WVA Dr's stopped excepting Medicaid for pregnant moms due to MMPI. The cost was astronomical and some companies dropped coverage, in WVA entirely.

The law needs to change, to provide protection for physicians, if we want the new generation of DRs to speak up.

He also referenced a Judges comments in a Chicago newspaper, stated they had to have extensive proof.
We are over burdening the legal system, with stiff laws to protect parents.

I feel sick reading that.
I can't even imagine the horror that poor AJ lived with daily. It is so terrible; I can't even wrap my head around it. Feeling very, very sad.

I was just told that.

Here’s a couple articles regarding AF’s office. Apparently, it was in Riverside IL, which is about 47 miles from Lake Crystal or 1 hr 15 minute commute from Dole Ave house.

Freund practiced law in Riverside. A man who answered at a phone number listed for AF’s law office on Thursday described Freund as an “independent contractor” but would not provide additional information and declined to give his name.

Although he lives in Crystal Lake, AF Sr. is an attorney whose professional address is listed at 24 East Ave. in Riverside, a storefront in the Tower Apartments owned by a real estate trust.

Another thing, had they kept the boys at the hospital over night, maybe AJ would have opened up a bit more, with P chiming in. But no, they went home with their father figure, the same man asked to remain in the house, I guess to protect them?!? WTH?

JC was apparently under the impression kids toilet train & learn household chores on their own, maybe by 5.

And the YouTube @osu posted of the rotted teeth, idk if the video is of P’s mouth but if it is, that is abuse. WTH was he drinking to cause that much erosion?

In Virginia every foster parent meets the same guidelines. I have 2 friends that are foster families. They have to have an approved, Central Registry background check and training for a babysitter to even go out to dinner.

The work around...."temporary custody" with a family member. This requires a lot less supervision and the only financial assistance is TANF, food stamps and Medicaid.
