GUILTY IL - Antinette 'Toni' Keller, 18, DeKalb, NIU Student, 14 October 2010

  • #661
Dude went to Mexico and came back?
Confirmation of earlier posts speculating disorganization.

Not a smart man..... I am not caught up, but I am hopeful and have faith that the loss of Toni will not only solve her crime, but a few others too.

Also - I want us to keep in the back of our minds, it has recently been reported in the Chicago area, IL has NOT processed more rape kits than one can imagine. And the immediate area's outside of chicago only processed these kits IF they thought they could get a conviction. It way beyond hinky into the heebie jeebies that IL was selectively choosing which rape kits to process and not... :( the lack of processing DNA from rape kits scares me the most.... I mean WTH!

phew....

It's unconscionable! In the case of Riley Fox, the DNA evidence didn't point toward the perp LE put behind bars, so they didn't use it! They called the FBI lab and said they didn't need it because there was a confession. Scary to live here in Illinois. moo

Long time resident of DeKalb and unemployed. Wonder what he does all day and how he pays rent? Wonder if he has a mental condition that brings him some sort of disability. moo mho

see fhc's post #116 above....he lives in subsidisd housing at 'Dekalb Co. Housing Authority'. Didn't someone mention that he lived with his mother. Was that said on the presser? I was busy typing, I guess. :sheesh:

I also was busy typing and listening. I heard that he took his mom's car without her permission, but didn't know he lived with her. It makes sense that he would though. moo

I am shocked and sickened but so impressed and relieved that LE caught him so quickly. At least, presuming he has not done this before...

This guy has assualted woman before, no doubt.
I'm interested in a time line...not just for Toni's case but who else has this 🤬🤬🤬 assualted in IL?

I'm gonna go back to a cold case here at WS.

Back in the day, in the 70's rapes were not easy to convict and female victims of such were basically told they instigated it... Reminds me of the Barbara Gleuckert case. She was ONLY 14 and went to a party in Huntley IL and never made it home. Sadly, her remains are yet to be found. Her perp is long since deceased but shares the last name of one of the Chicago Bears - Urlacher (no relation that we know.) http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/glueckert_barbara.html

WS thread - this is out near NIU and unsolved
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82052&highlight=glueckert

It will be interesting to hear what those who know the perp have to say about him.

hmmm.....

I'm surprised too. I had a feeling the killer was local, but also believed it was someone who knew her and had an ax to grind. The rage involved in setting a body on fire is no small thing-- this man despised women. So glad they caught him quickly.

My heart goes out to Toni's family and friends.

Totally unbelievable isn't it. My gf waited years. She moved to another state, got married, things were going great, then she got the phone call and had to fly back to her home town and relive it all over again. It was so hard to comfort her.

Hoping they put his DNA in data base and see if they get any hits. I have little faith in Illinois LE but this time they did good.

Let's look at him, front and center:

I think the photo they showed at the presser made him look nerdier...but still creepy. If I see it published somewhere, I'll post it.

Does anyone know how to look up criminal records in Illinois? I'm curious about this loser.

he is a long time resident of DeKalb
507 east Taylor where he resides
he is unemployed

I have a close friend who lives with his wife and 15-year old daughter less than 1/2 mile from this creep! I graduated from NIU in 1989 and still have friends in DeKalb. This is so sad.

Thanks twinkiesmom - If you could, how is mitochondrial DNA different from nuclear DNA? Thanks in advance...tia

Regular nuclear DNA is present in the nucleus of each cell, and it contains 46 chromosomes that you inherit in pairs, 23 from each parent.

The mitochondrial DNA is smaller (37 genes in humans) and unique to the mitochondria....The mitochondrial DNA is passed from mother to child. There are many copies of the mitochondrial DNA in each mitochondrion.

The genetic variety you see in families between full biological siblings and their parents is due to the process of recombination that the nuclear DNA undergoes....mitochondrial DNA doesn't undergo recombination.

I went to get the sex offender address tonight but the records dept is mysteriously closed., I used to go in and show the driver license and they would print it up, Also there is an online version though I cannot rem the link.

I think he would not be allowed to stay in the senior center. Just a thought. We use to go carrolling and sing them songs. Maybe they got lenient on the visitor rules.

Trying to look this guy up and not much happens. He has several addresses in DeKalb and 3 in Malta, Illinois.

The site I use to check criminal history is at work, and thankfully, I'm not there . Maybe someone else? Where is Malta Illinois? Never heard of it. tia
